Chapter Ninety-Seven - Stepped Into His Trap

Ella's POV

The stillness before the storm hung heavy over the valley as we stood marshalled before the looming fortress, weapons poised for the coming onslaught.

My pulse thundered in my ears, drowning out the cries of warriors girding themselves for battle. The decisive hour was upon us at last.

I glanced sidelong at my brave mates mounted atop their powerful steeds, authority and purpose in their proud bearing. No doubts clouded Aiden and Jayden's stern expressions now - the time for deliberation was past. Fate called and we must answer, ready or not.

With a piercing cry Jayden raised his sword skyward, emerald eyes blazing. "For honour and justice, we fight!" Behind him Aiden lifted his own blade, magnifying the rallying call. "Let none who serve evil remain standing this day!"

A deafening roar went up from our assembled warriors, courage fortified by their alphas' fearless example. I added my own voice to the fury, letting battle lust consume me. The reckoning was nigh.
