Alyssa's POV

My words cut through the throne room like a knife as everyone looked at me with a shocked expression. They clearly hadn’t been expecting me to say anything against them let alone defend myself. My father seemed to look the angriest, even more than the Alpha King who I had openly opposed.

Part of me wanted to take it back and apologise, but I didn’t want to. I hadn’t done anything wrong! I hadn’t been the one to attack Taylor so viciously. All I did was try to protect myself.

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 139

Freya’s POV I was woken early by a messenger from the palace. The Alpha King and the Luna Queen would be coming to witness Caleb’s ascension as the youngest Alpha in known history. Maybe wires had been crossed, and someone had thought they were here for the funeral, but either way, we were already prepared for the Royal Family. I picked out my best dress for the occasion and tidied my hair to look perfect. So long as the Luna Queen was still supportive of me marrying Alxander, there wasn’t too much he could do about it. Even if I despised him now, securing that position was still a good thing for my future. The messenger announced that the Royal Family was about an hour behind and offered their condolences. It was perfect. They felt sorry for a family that had lost their Alpha and had to put a new one on the throne. They would support us if anyone attempted to take power and would offer protection against any traitors. If Alyssa tried to cause a fuss at Caleb’s Ceremony, there would

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 138

Vivan’s POV The rumour that the Royal Family were going to visit seemed to be nothing more than that. A rumour. We had prepared and waited for hours, but there was no sign of them. I suspected someone may have started it as a joke, but I would get to the bottom of that sooner rather than later. Besides, this was a time for celebration. Henry was dead, I would be regent of the pack until Caleb came of age, and without his father or wretched sister getting in the way, he was mine to mould and do with as I pleased. Caleb would help me take the kingdom. Freya didn’t even need to marry Alexander anymore for me to get what I wanted; the poison I created showed me that. I still couldn’t believe how easily it had worked on Henry. Even the most potent wolfsbane would have an alpha writhing in agony for at least an hour before eventually killing him. But mine did it in an instant. I would have to be careful when I eventually used it on the Alpha King and Luna Queen, but if it worked even hal

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 137

Alyssa's POVKai took Caleb back to bed, and though he protested, wanting to see if this magic blood potion worked, I didn’t want to see the disappointment on his face if it didn’t. He hadn’t seen the purple vines crawling around our father’s body, hadn’t seen the icy lines trying to fight it, and I wasn’t going to traumatise him even more by showing him that. He would know in the morning if it worked. After that, Kai, Alexander, Nolan and I went back to where my father’s body was resting, and my heart hammered fiercely in my chest. If this worked, it would change everything.I couldn’t get used to seeing my father like this, looking like he was asleep but knowing how close he was to death. Kai gently held my shoulders, squeezing them tightly as I took a deep breath.“To let you know, it seems the King and Queen will be visiting the Ice Heart Pack after all.” Nolan said as he quickly whipped out a piece of paper, “His Highness and I sent a message, and they responded. They will be he

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 136

Alyssa’s POVIt was almost hard to believe that we were all there together with the key to fixing everything. We were also the new generation of Alpha bloodlines, coming together in a show of unity for the first time in a while. Nolan had created the antidote. Or, at least he’d hoped that he had, considering how quickly he’d studied and tested.“I can’t make any promises, Alyssa. I’m really sorry, but there just wasn’t enough time.”“I understand, Nolan,” I had said as I took his hands in mine, “I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you tried.”Nolan nodded with a small smile and brought me into a quick hug with a reassuring squeeze.Caleb held onto Kai’s hand tightly, still trusting us, but nervous about what was happening. His eyes drifted to our father’s body, and he shuffled himself a little further behind Kai. Kai was sweet with him, giving my younger brother a gentle pat on the head. Alexander stood stiff, prepared for whatever I was going to ask of him.“The ice is fi

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 135

Kai’s POV It wasn’t hard to get Caleb. Honestly, I was thinking it would be a lot more difficult, but after counting the warriors and their guard changes, it was a simple effort to sneak past them and climb the wall with the lattice fence to the bedroom that Alyssa had pointed out earlier that day. The light was dim, and I had Carter waiting in the distance in case I needed him. The window wasn’t locked, and for a moment I wondered if there would be some kind of ambush waiting for me. Was Vivian actually this certain that Alyssa had given up hope? Alyssa had put on a believable performance; it almost had me concerned, so perhaps Vivan was getting sloppy with her supposed victory.I easily climbed into his room, trying to make sure I was staying as quiet as possible with the footsteps pacing outside the door.Sneaking to the bed, I crouched down by where Caleb was facing in his sleep and gave him a gentle nudge on his shoulder. The boy groaned, and it took him a few seconds to flick

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 134

Alyssa’s POV We found Alexander not long after we had sent Nolan off to try to find an antidote for my father and filled him in on what we had found. He offered his blood immediately, which I appreciated, but firstly, we had to get Caleb… and there was no way Vivian was letting him out of her sight, not whilst he was Alpha now.“So what do we do?” Alexander asked, “It’s unlikely we’ll be able to get him alone.”“During the day,” I agreed, “But at night, when he’s supposed to be in bed, he probably won’t have more than a guard on the door. They wouldn’t think any harm would come to him at night.”“We could control the guard’s spirit, make him fall asleep and grab Caleb,” Kai offered.“No!” I remembered the blinding pain when Alexander used his power on me all those moons ago, the pain that brought Carys to her knees. I didn’t want another person to go through that if we absolutely didn’t have to. But also, if Kai couldn’t get him down and knock him out in a second or two, the guard w

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 102

Alyssa's POVMy father sat at his desk, his head held up by his hands underneath his chin. He was looking at me, scanning me as he tried to sift through his mind for what he really wanted to say. But I didn’t baulk as he surveyed me. I kept my head high, waiting for what I knew was coming.“You alw

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 101

Alyssa’s POVI followed my father in silence towards his study. I could feel the weight of his judgment bearing down on me, and it took everything within me not to tremble. Was he going to send me away himself? Tell me I was no longer his daughter? He’d sent me to the Red Maple Camp after all.I fe

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 99

Alyssa's POVKai had asked me to stay still and safe in his room whilst he went to deal with something, and the servants fetched my things from where I’d been staying as a palace maid. But after five minutes, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stay there until Kai returned. There was too much on my mind

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 97

Alexander's POVHow I wished I could’ve held her. Not in a romantic way, not anymore. I didn’t deserve that right, and I’d come to terms with the fact that she was falling in love with my brother.No. I just wanted to give her some comfort, to tell her that she would be okay and that nothing bad wo
