After Benjamin left, Hazel had a wry smile on her face. She hit the ground. She thought he would want her to have his child, but he didn't. Because of how Benjamin is, Hazel was scared that if he found out she was pregnant, he would think she was having an affair to make it look like she was pregnant. In that case, Hazel and the future child would both be in danger. To protect the growing child inside her, Hazel had to carefully think about her choices. Hazel didn't show up to work at the office for a few days after that. It was clear that that made Yvonne happy. She thought her plan to put Hazel in jail had worked. Benjamin did nothing to Yvonne, despite his fears that she was the real criminal. Conversely, Hazel was the one who lost her job. Benjamin only did not expect Hazel being so submissive this time. He had frequently told Hazel that she was fired in the past, but she would always show up for work the next day as if nothing had happened. Benjamin couldn't help but ponder Hazel's present actions. Mr. York asked, "Mr. Lucas?" after being shocked to see Benjamin in a dream. Benjamin was, after all, always a very serious worker. Benjamin went back to his plan, "Yeah?" He asked, "Where were we?" throwing a glance at Mr. York. "I've finished my report, would you like me to repeat it?" Benjamin nodded, saying, "Yeah." Benjamin lifted his glass to sip water, feeling thirsty. However, when he picked it up, he found it was empty. Not a single drop of water was present in it. Benjamin frowned, a flash of rage in his eyes. "Where is my assistant? Doesn't she know that I'm out of water?" asked the man. "Miss Stewart has not been to work for a week. She used to be the one handling all these matters," answered Mr. York. "Miss Taylor has taken over all her tasks. I think she is currently having a tea-break on the third story." If Benjamin didn't like anything Hazel did back when she was around, he would have someone else fix it. Therefore, nothing ought to have changed as a result of her leaving the company. But with Yvonne taking over Hazel's role, Benjamin had no one else to order to continue these chores. That brought them to where they are now. Benjamin patted his face but kept his mouth shut. "Go on with your report," he told Mr. York. Benjamin got up and poured himself a glass of water as he heard Mr. York's lively report. As soon as Mr. York finished his story, he ought to have left. However, Mr. York turned and said, "Mr. Lucas, I know that I shouldn't meddle in your personal matters. However, Miss Taylor has now taken over the role of your personal helper. On a personal level, I know you want to keep her by your side. On a business level, she is not a qualified helper." This was after he had taken two steps toward the door. Mr. York said his piece, then turned quickly away, not wanting to anger Benjamin. Mr. York knew what was going on between Benjamin and Hazel, and he also understood why Benjamin hated Hazel so deeply. But after a few years of watching, Mr. York could tell that Hazel really loved Benjamin. Benjamin, in his view, was always too mean to Hazel. Even as a junior, he was aware that he shouldn't get involved. That's why he had been silent all along. .... Hazel spent a full week at home. She considered a lot of things at home without having to go to work. Zen paid her a call once and even gave her a small loan. Hazel was aware that her present situation came from her personal choices. Her present self would have been more like Zen if she had not fallen in love with Benjamin. She would have kept on following a job in design, finally met a good partner, got married, and started a family. However, life did not offer second chances. To find a way to protect the future child inside her, her present self had to completely lose her mind. She was aware that agreeing to a breakup with Benjamin would be the best course of action. She was able to heal and give birth to her kid safely in a quiet place after their breakup. She was certain that after their breakup, Benjamin would not try to learn more about her because of how much he hated her. But Hazel was angry. 'I've gone through so much in the last three years, just to keep this marriage alive,' she thought to herself. I never once agreed to a divorce, regardless of Benjamin's treatment of me. How can I split up easily at this time?" Hazel made the choice to call Benjamin and have a nice talk with him, gripping her phone tightly. She feared that Benjamin's attitude toward her would change. After a long while, the call finally went through. Hazel said with a weak voice, "Benjamin, you haven't been home for a week. I made your favorite foods tonight, why don't you come home for dinner?" Benjamin did not reply, as far as she could tell. Rather, she overheard Yvonne's questioning voice on the other end of the phone: "Benjamin, who are you talking to?" Yvonne was by his side as usual. Yvonne was now Benjamin's personal helper, after all. Yvonne joined the company with the aim of being by Benjamin's side constantly. For this reason, Hazel did not find her voice odd. She could not bring herself to pretend to be indifferent, but she also dared not become upset. She said, "You promised me that you would come back at least once a week." Hazel had no plan of bringing up their agreement at first. After all, each time she brought up this subject, Benjamin would become furious. But she was well aware that Benjamin would never be allowed to come home for dinner because of Yvonne. Hazel was therefore limited to doing this. There was no reaction from the other end. All that could be heard was the sign that Benjamin had hung up. After a full hour of waiting, Hazel did not see Benjamin return. The food on the table had become ugly long ago, as she had already warmed it three times. Hazel would not have felt the need to eat as much if everything had been the same as it was in the past. But now things were not the same. She felt her belly. She needed to feed the baby. The doctor informed her that her extended malnourishment was not good for the growth of her unborn child before she was allowed to leave the hospital. She needed to heal herself back to health at home for a large amount of time if she wanted to keep the child. If not, it would be tough for the baby to live for even three months. This is precisely the reason Hazel stopped from going back to work. A noise came from the door as she picked up her chopsticks and had just taken a bite. Hazel put down her chopsticks and got to her feet quickly. Happy, she made her way to the door. Benjamin went inside the room and put on his jammies. He gave Hazel a quick glance before entering the living room. "You're back at last, I didn't think you would," Hazel stated as she followed Benjamin. "I just started eating. Why don't you join me?" she smiled as she pulled out a chair at the dinner table. Benjamin sat down on the chair without a word. Grasping a pair of chopsticks, he nibbled away. After that, he got back up and announced, "I'm done," in a chilly way. He then turned around and started to walk away. Hazel got to her feet as she saw Benjamin turn away harshly. "Benjamin, could we just talk?" she said. The footsteps of Benjamin stopped. His phone rang a moment after that. Benjamin's voice was much softer when he answered the phone, saying, "Okay, I'll make my way there right now. Just wait for me at the restaurant." Benjamin hung up and continued leaving the apartment. His icy voice was the only sound audible. He said, "We have nothing to talk about except for divorce."

Hazel was desperate to catch up to Benjamin and prevent him from seeing Yvonne. Her feet, however, felt as though they were nailed to the ground. She could not, in the slightest, lift them. She was aware that pursuing him would only make her feel inferior. Hazel gave a sorrowful smile. She touched her round belly and bowed her head. Hazel called Benjamin again the day after. She still desired to speak with him in a formal manner. Maybe if he agreed to speak with her this time, things would work out better. Yvonne answered the phone this time. Yvonne snorted as she saw the number on the screen. "Benjamin, you're so mean. How can you answer the phone at a time like that... Ah... Oh... How to mean of you, Benjamin, treating me like this," she said carefully and coquettishly after taking the call. Hazel's mind was filled with a loud bang. Immediately after, her phone dropped to the ground and she felt as though the sky was falling. Because of their relationship, she understood th

Benjamin was shocked by what he had just heard. How could Hazel consent to a divorce, he wondered? That isn't feasible! "What are you up to this time?" Benjamin questioned Hazel as his initial response. Hazel questioned, "Am I that kind of person in your eyes?" She had lost all sense of her feelings about this. Benjamin thought that her decision to file for divorce was just another one of her ruses, even though she had made that decision. "Yes," Benjamin said without hesitation. He didn't even need to consider it. Hazel grinned and nodded. She was chuckling at how terribly pathetic she had become. Hazel turned around and handed Benjamin the divorce documents she had long since prepared. "I've already written the divorce agreement," she declared. We can sign them immediately if there are no issues once you have a look." Benjamin scowled. He spread his hands gently and took the papers Hazel was handing him, looking at them. Benjamin looked at the divorce documents and was perple

Mr. York thought Benjamin was acting extremely strangely today. After arriving at the company that morning and wandering about for a while in a stupor, Benjamin asked Mr. York to notify the other offices that he was holding a meeting. Although there was no such plan for this morning, Benjamin insisted on bringing down all of the important executives from the several offices. They continued to meet like this up to this point. Mr. York couldn't help but wonder if Hazel Stewart was involved in any way. But the more he considered it, the less likely it seemed. Benjamin never gave a damn about Hazel Stewart, after all. He hardly ever acted in such a strange way because of her. Regarding Yvonne, she had grown even more lethargic since Hazel quit her job. She requested a day off today so she and her pals could go shopping. She didn't even show up for work. Mr. York came to the conclusion that there was no chance that Benjamin's activities were related to Yvonne as well. But Mr. Yo

Benjamin pulled Hazel Stewart from the Civil Affairs Bureau. Hazel Stewart's heart raced when she looked down and noticed that Benjamin didn't appear to be about to let go of her anytime soon. She knew that the call he received was from his grandmother. Benjamin was furious. A surge of wrath shot through his chest. "Hazel Stewart Stewart, did you already guess that my grandmother would protect you because it's her birthday next week?" he said with a threatening tone. Is it the reason you deliberately chose this moment to file for divorce? "No, I ..." Hazel Stewart realized that Benjamin had misinterpreted her. She didn't have any reason to think that this would be her last divorce. All for the child she carried within her. Sooner or later, her marriage to Benjamin would have to end. It was the ideal time to do it, now that she was expecting. "No?" Benjamin laughed hysterically. He was obviously not at all trusting what Hazel Stewart had to say. "Grandmother called me just now

The day of Madam Lucas's birthday was drawing near. Hazel Stewart created Benjamin's grandmother a birthday present while she was painting. She was now very low on cash, having borrowed the majority of her expenses from Zen. The Lucas family was also extraordinarily well-off. "Madam Lucas has probably seen many things in her life," Hazel Stewart surmised. It's possible that she doesn't always enjoy expensive items. Because it was a handcrafted gift that she had spent the entire day working on, the present she had prepared wasn't very pricey. Dinner on Madam Lucas's birthday was scheduled for six o'clock. Still, she pushed Hazel Stewart to come over earlier when she called her in the morning. Before she handed Benjamin her gift, Hazel Stewart wrapped it up nicely. It took him a while to respond. "Today is your grandmother's birthday, Benjamin. As Hazel Stewart put it, "I have no ulterior motives behind this call; I just wanted to let you know. I plan to go over earlier so I can

When Yvonne learned that her card was overdrawn, she was taken aback. "Not enough money?" she inquired. "That can't be done, try again." The card with the highest balance belonged to her. The card has an enormous amount of money on it. Yvonne pondered the possible expense of this jade band. Standing next her, Hazel couldn't suppress a small chuckle. "What are you laughing at?" "Benjamin gave me all the money on this card," Yvonne scowled and stated. Three years later, I bet he hasn't handed you a single penny, correct? Benjamin had, in fact, never handed her any money. But today, he did give her a black card. It was quite evident to Hazel that this card was unique to Benjamin. It was a limited edition black card from throughout the world. She had received it from Benjamin with the intention of purchasing Mrs. Lucas's gift. But just now, it would be great to enrage Yvonne with it. After attempting to swipe the card once more, the sales assistant said, "I'm sorry, there are insuf

Hazel exhaled deeply in relief. Thankfully, Benjamin refrained from inappropriately shielding Yvonne this time. Maybe during the past few years Hazel had become used to being the victim. Hazel was ecstatic, even if all Benjamin had said was the truth. She was not getting ahead of herself, of course. She was aware that Benjamin remained the same and continued to despise her. After saying, "I have other things to deal with, let's talk later," Benjamin abruptly disconnected up. Yvonne had to be patient with Benjamin no matter how offended she felt. Hazel was the only person she could vent to. She extended her arm to give Hazel a shove. Yvonne grabbed at nothing again as Hazel abruptly turned her body away as soon as she saw her moving. A rare genuine smile lit up Hazel's face as she cast a scornful glance down at Yvonne, who had collapsed to the ground once more. "Miss Taylor, you've already called Benjamin to make sure he really gave me the black card," she remarked. I'm going to

Hazel headed straight home after leaving MC Enterprise. Given the wealth and influence of the Lucas family, Mrs. Lucas's birthday celebration ought to have been an extravagant affair. But only family members were allowed to attend Mrs. Lucas's birthday supper since she disliked waste and extravagance. Hazel was disliked by everyone in the Lucas family except her grandmother. Benjamin's parents were among those who believed Hazel was a self-centered gold digger who was only using Benjamin as a stepping stone to higher social status. Their attitude toward their daughter-in-law had always been callous. Hazel questioned whether she would have been able to become a member of their family if Mrs. Lucas had not coerced Benjamin into marrying her three years prior. However, upon further reflection, there was absolutely nothing favorable about being married to Mr. Lucas. On the one hand, neither her position nor Benjamin's family ever made an official announcement or acceptance. However, B

For Hazel, the ensuing few months were a blur of activity. The childcare manager interview process was unexpectedly nerve-racking, but Hazel was hired because of her strong vision for the facility and Ms. Evans' good reference.Early on, it was a baptism by fire. Remodeled into a community center, the center was alive with the exuberance of small children and the focused work of the construction crew who were wrapping up the finishing touches. Hazel was overburdened with the task of organizing lessons, scheduling meetings with contractors, and juggling Liam's constant demands. In unexpected ways, Christian—who was always the dependable friend in a beat-up truck, rather than the knight in shining armor—stepped up. He volunteered his evenings to assist with the mural painting, transforming the formerly empty space into a vibrant jungle picture. He even proposed to watch Liam on infrequent playdates, providing Hazel with much-needed respites. One evening, Liam curled up on Hazel's lap as

"All right. since you've consistently expressed concern for my welfare."On the other end, silence stretched. Benjamin finally let out a heavy sigh. "Look, Hazel, I made a mistake. Largely. I am aware that regrets cannot change the past, yet nonetheless."But what?" Hazel was powerless to resist. A small, sensitive part of her longed to hear an expression of regret or acknowledgement of the suffering he had brought about.Benjamin suddenly said, "But I want to see my child," in a remarkably honest voice.Hazel caught her breath. "How did it seem impossible?" Ms Evan asked, taking a sip of her coffee and urging her to do the same. She obliged her and followed suit, letting the liquid warm her throat. "After I got married, I guess I just let my dreams take the back seat as I tried to get my husband to love me." Hazel didn't miss the look of pity that crossed the woman's face. It sounded pitiful, even to her. "If life gave you another chance, will you take it?" Ms Evans asked. Hazel looked up, her orbs still moist from crying a while ago. "Of course, I will. If this was like before, Hazel would have called Benjamin right after seeing the news to ask him what he was trying to achieve with this. No, however, she held onto her phone but did not call him. In the past three years, Hazel had not told a single outsider about her relationship with Benjamin. Even though Benjamin and Yvonne went around together, the entertainment media would not dare expose his relationship with her in the tabloid news without his permission. Even though the employees at his company knew about his relationship with Yvonne, Benjamin had not taken the liberty of announcing it to the public. The existence of these news reports, therefore, meant that Benjamin had chosen to publicly acknowledge his relationship with Yvonne. The truth was that she was still afraid that the divorce between them would be mentioned once they go

In the end, Hazel did not fall as she had feared. Rather, Christian took hold of her waist and supported her weight. Hazel was absolutely horrified by the pressure that was applied around her waist. She opened her mouth to thank Christian, but before she could speak, her voice was cut off. "His anger has always been like that," he stated. He is impartial toward all. With a smile, Christian replied, "Please don't take it personally. If you ever become tired of him, you can come to me. I won't get physical with anyone, and my attitude has greatly improved. I would never hit the woman I love, at least not ever." It was Christian's intention to offend. Yes, Benjamin fell for the ruse. He gave the couple a gloomy look, and his eyes become bloodshot once more. He said, "Hazel, please return here immediately! Or have you considered remarrying a Christian instead?" Hazel regained her balance and moved forward, taking two steps to separate herself from Christian. In actuality, she was a
