Chapter 13

A wave of terror washed over them all.

Nash's face registered shock as he hurriedly pulled out silver needles and stuck them into Arlo. But instead of showing signs of improvement, Arlo began convulsing even more violently.

Patrick anxiously shouted, "Dr. Luther, what's happening?"

Nash was drenched in sweat as he tried several more times, but nothing seemed to work. Panic started to set in. If he failed to save Arlo, the Jeffersons might end him.

With trembling lips and a pale face, he stammered, "I… I don't know. This shouldn't be happening!"

Mavis was utterly shocked. She hadn't anticipated such a sudden turn of events.

Suddenly, she remembered what Timothy had said earlier, and her face fell. He had been right all along! Could he really be an expert?

Patrick shared the same realization and exclaimed, "Mav! Go and get Timothy back here! Hurry!"

Snapping back to reality, Mavis bit her lip and rushed out without looking back.
