Tiana said, "Yeah, Tim. You'll need to spend a lot more each month if you rent a place; I'm fine staying here with Mom and Dad. I've long since gotten used to it, and I feel more secure in an old place like this!"

Timothy looked at her and his parents, his nose prickling. He could tell they were just trying to make him feel better.

Still, how could they be comfortable living in a rundown place like this where it wasn't even that convenient to get water? There were leaks everywhere whenever it rained, too.

He shook his head. "You guys don't have to try to talk me out of it. I've already made up my mind. Besides, I've already paid for the place. Pack up, and we'll move in this afternoon—that's final. I'm heading out to do something now, and I'll be back in the afternoon."

He turned and left without giving his parents and Tiana the chance to speak.

It was a new day in Lormford City. The sun rose, shining golden light over the city.
