Ava sat up and was breathing heavily, she couldn't believe her ears and how Grace felt for her. She didn't know how to react. She felt a strange pain in her heart as she heard Grace cry in front of her and when she said that she fell in love with her a part of her seemed to be happy but she didn't know why. She stood up and walked out of her tent, looked around but Grace was nowhere to be seen.
"You looking for her?" Emily asked and walked from behind the tent. She was there the whole time for she wanted to tell Ava how Grace felt but Grace herself confessed everything but gave up in the end and ran away.
"Where's she?" Ava asked desperately.
"What are you gonna do? Find her and then what? You aren't planning to give her an answer at all right?" Emily asked her and stepped closer to her.
"Just tell me where's she!" Ava almost shouted.
"I'm not going to until you answer my questions," Emily said and was damn serious at that point.
"I don't kn
"I love you, my dear princess," Ava said and pecked on Grace's lips. Grace smiled softly and placed her lips on hers. Ava smirked and kissed her back, her arms snaked around her waist and the kiss became passionate within a second. She pulled away after a few moments and Grace was catching her breath. "You're so cute, Grace." She said and pecked on her cheek."How are you so straight forward?" Grace asked and her face was flushed."I'm just excited now that I'm with you," Ava said and patted her head."So are we dating?" Grace asked hesitantly and looked at her slowly."What do you think?" Ava asked her and was trying to hold back her smile."I... I don't know." Grace got discouraged."Of course we are baby," Ava said and smiled at her softly. Grace smiled and hugged her tightly."Do you love me so much?" Ava asked when she saw tears on the corner of her eyes."I've liked you for two freaking years with no hope of being l
The dark blue sky started to turn orange and the rays of the sun fell on their face. The birds started chirping and the clouds from the sky moved away. The bonfire had burnt down and a little smoke was blowing out of the ashes, disappearing after some height. Ava was sitting by the bonfire and Grace was sitting beside her, her head resting on Ava's shoulder, whose arm was around her shoulder. They both had a blanket around themselves."It's so pretty," Grace said and snuggled closer to her."Not more than you," Aav said and smiled."I never thought you would be so cheesy," Grace commented and Ava shrugged."I just love complimenting you," Ava said and hugged her tighter. "Are you happy?" Ava asked her and she nodded like a little child which made Ava laughed.Emily woke up and heard some noises from outside. She recognized those two voices immediately and ran out of her tent with a blanket in her hand. She saw them sitting by the bonfire and smiled
They all sat by the burnt-out fireplace, for some time after they had finished their breakfast and then started packing up for they were planning to leave that place soon to continue their trekking adventure after all they only had a day and a half left."Grace, are you done?" Ava asked her and sat closer to her. Grace was packing both of their bags for she was the organized one between them."Yeah almost." She replied and smiled at her."Good," Ava said with a mischevious smirk spread all over her face. She came closer to Grace and wrapped her arms around her waist. Grace was a little uncomfortable but just tried to go with the flow but then she heard the sound of someone's footsteps. She panicked and pushed Ava away, her head banged on the metal bar a little as she was thrown behind."Ouch!" Ava hissed in pain."I...I'm so sorry," Grace said and crawled closer to her."Hey, what are you guys doing?" Elijah asked and crept his head into the
The sun rose and the light entered their rooms through the huge glass window, making Grace cover her eyes with the blanket, while Ava loved it. Ava slowly opened her eyes and a smile formed on her face seeing the clear the sky and the bright sunlight. She turned over and looked at Grace who had covered her face with the blanket, hiding away from the light."Good morning, baby..." Ava said and snuggled close to her and tried to pull the blanket from her face to look at it."What the hell are you doing?" Grace asked and held the blanket tight. "It so freaking bright!" She complained."Isn't it good?" Ava asked in confusion."I hate it!" She shouted and pulled the blanket back."Ok, my little vampire," Ava said and hugged her. "What do you wanna do?" She whispered in her ear."I don't know," Grace replied and looked at her slowly and started thinking for a second. "Can you tell me about your family?" Grace asked hesitantly after some time and A
Grace was walking around the museum when she felt as if someone was watching her, she ignored this feeling but couldn't get rid of it. She looked back when the strange feeling didn't stop to clarify but didn't find anything suspicious in that room. She kept walking and got the same feeling again after some time, she looked back again and it seemed that someone was indeed watching her and had just hidden behind the wall for she saw someone's head creep behind the wall, into the other side of the museum. She had a bad feeling about it but gathered her courage to look once. She walked in that direction and her heartbeat increased with each step, anxiety took over her and she was nervous about who could it be and if something bad was about to happen. She looked behind the wall and there was no one, she sighed in relief and was about to turn back when she saw a sticky note on the wall. Her heart skipped a beat, she slowly got it off and looked at it.It said, "It's g
Grace left the cafe and was kinda relieved after letting out all her feelings in front of someone who understood her and gave her a little encouragement to tell Ava everything. Yara was right that if she loved her then she would understand her and help her move on from her past. Grace took a deep breath and was finally thinking of telling Ava the truth, she was ready to stop running away from her fear, the things that hurt her the most. She started walking towards the taxi and asked the driver to go back to the museum. She texted Ava on the way, asking her where she was but didn't get a reply even after it was marked seen so she texted Emily. Emily replied after a few minutes and told her that they were back at the hotel for they couldn't find her at the museum.Grace was kinda nervous after knowing that; she thought that Ava would be angry but still wished that she'd understand her reasons when she told her everything. She plugged in her earphones and started listenin
Grace flinched as the door slammed shut and didn't move at all for a few seconds. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up, the room was spinning in her eyes. She felt uncomfortable but there was nothing she could do about it. She laid her head on the floor and closed her eyes tightly, her hands still gripping on her arms tightly. But now it was even worse. She started remembering her past, all those horrible moments started revolving in her head- her step-mother beating her, Yara leaving her alone, her classmates bullying her, her principal scolding her and suspending her from school, and her father beating and her in a dark room, crying her eyes out. She remembered the past and tears started falling down her eyes but she didn't let any sound escape from her mouth. She was trembling and was breathing hard, taking deep breaths. Her eyes were red from all that crying and her arms were bruised as usual. She heard footsteps outside the door and flinched. She got up and started w
Grace was sitting in the bathroom, leaning against the door, staring at the floor. Her eyes were blank and there was no emotion visible in them just like on her face. She wasn't shaking anymore and her heartbeat was a lot more stable now. There was complete silence and no movement outside. She had been motionless for a long time and then slowly looked up. The room was a complete mess, all the bottles were on the floor and there was a small crack on the mirror. She stood up and stared at her reflection again. Her hair was messy, clothes ruffled and eyes blank. Her arms and legs were bruised, a little blood was stuck in her nails and her eyes were red and were dried out from all that crying. Her lips moved a bit but no words came out.She took off her clothes slowly and as she stood in front of the mirror again, she noticed that there were faded bruises on her body as well which Ava didn't notice earlier because of the dark. She turned on the shower and washed up. She wo
It had been a year since Cora and Grace had started dating and since the last time they had seen Ava but they still sometimes talked to her. Grace did talk to the trio as well. Emily and Harry were planning to move in together soon. And as for Elijah, he had a boyfriend. Yup, a boyfriend. After college he got a job in a company and started working there, a coworker of his got a crush on him and chased after him and Elijah soon realized that he was bi and started dating him. They both live together now.As for the single squad, Lia and Austin, they tried dating each other and it worked out for they couldn't date anyone else because of their tight schedules but they had the same job so it worked out. Grace and Cora were obviously still dating and Grace was soon going to graduate from college. As for Grace's squad, they still went around complaining about things and Grace had a lot of fun with them. Although Cora didn't like them because Grace loved to hang out with them and thu
There was complete silence in that room for a few seconds and Grace was starting to get anxious for William hadn't said anything. He smiled after some time and looked at her. "There is no doubt that she loves you so much and has changed so much, just for you." He said and smiled softly, which he rarely did. "I do think it is partially our fault that's she's this way (anxious and insecure) and I'm guilty of that. I promised my wife to give my children the best life but I think I ruined it. So if there is a way to amend it, I'll surely do it."Grace smiled and was relieved that everything worked out in the end. Alisa was happy for them and hugged Grace while Oliver was confused but accepted them after digestion of the whole situation.William called Cora inside after that and she was confused to see everyone so happy."You chose the right girl, brat," William told her and she smiled and was relieved."Thanks, grandpa." She said and was on the verge o
They entered the mansion and the guard guided them to where Cora's family was waiting for her. Three people were sitting in that room, her mom, wearing a red dress and looking like an older version of Cora; her father and grandfather wearing formal, looking similar in looks, the way they sat, and the cold expressions. Grace was quite scared of meeting them. She knew that her parents had accepted them but it was only her mom, her dad was just cooperating for he feared that Cora would leave the country and he wouldn't have an heir. Gabe sat silently in the corner, he also didn't like his dad much cause he wasn't even given a chance after he was involved in the accident. Mr. Oliver Abel just put a title of useless on him and pretty much threw him out of the company.Cora took a deep breath and entered the room, holding Grace's hand for she didn't want to run away anymore, she wanted to face her fear and show them who she was, whether they accepted her or not.Grace was re
It was raining heavily, the weather was slowly getting colder and people started going back to their homes. Some were enjoying the rain, getting wet and dancing on the roads. Some were complaining about the weather while others were enjoying it, feeling at peace as if the rain washed away all the negativity. While some were reminded of the dark past and were crying, the rain accompanying their tears.Ava was still sitting in the cafe, alone but was at ease for she had finally moved on. She was able to get out of her lies and accept reality. Unknowingly, Grace had helped her free away from her past. Ava decided to change herself and become a better person. After thinking for a long time, she took a deep breath and she called her father and told him that she was coming back. Her father was surprised and asked if everything was alright. She replied positively and further told him that she would try to be a better daughter this time. He was relieved and happy; deep down he thanke
"But everything happens for the good. I'm happy with who I am now; I can accept myself as I am and I am loving myself which I never did before." Grace said and looked at Ava, her eyes were a little gentler. Ava started to feel more comfortable. "It's better to just move on. Let's just believe that we were just strangers who accidentally crossed paths and it all led to all this chaos. But I don't hate it, I don't blame you either. Cause it was because of all that that I met someone special and who makes me feel like I deserved to be loved, who has made all of my insecurities vanish." She started smiling without even realizing it. Ava noticed it and realized that she had already lost her and there's no use in trying to get her back for it would just hurt them more. The room was filled with silence again but there was no tension anymore. They were relieved for they had told each other everything they wanted. In that silence, Grace found her answer. It was love that she felt towa
Ava was standing right in front of her, holding a bouquet; looked at her as if Grace was her everything as if she had finally found her other half. Grace was startled by what had happened but the very next second she glared at her in anger. She was reminded of all those horrible things that Ava had done to her. Ava was confused to see that sight; it seemed as if something had changed as if the person in front of her was a complete stranger. Grace took a deep breath and walked towards the car, ignoring Ava completely for she didn't want to talk to her, she didn't want all that pain back, she had to protect herself this time.Grace sat inside the car and slammed the door. Cora was getting more anxious every second, but she didn't say anything and just firmly held her hand. Grace squeezed her hand lightly and rested her head on Cora's shoulder."I'm okay," Grace said and Cora smiled faintly. They went back to the mansion and everything became normal in no time caus
It was evening, the whole day had passed but Grace was still not out of that room. Lia and Austin were getting a little worried for she had not eaten the whole day but they could do nothing but wait for her. The evening passed in no time and the night came and the door finally opened. Grace came out, looking lost and gloomy. She ran to her room without even looking at anyone else. They got a little worried for her because it seemed as though she had cried. They tried to call Cora but there was no reply from her side. Helpless, they went back to their rooms. It was past midnight and Cora finally came back, she looked exhausted and tired. Initially, the meeting was scheduled for next week but she preponed it because she didn't want to be at home that day; she didn't want to face Grace because she was expecting a rejection, she didn't have any faith in herself.Grace was sitting on her bed, hugging the pillow, thinking about what she should do next. Her answer could hurt
The sun rays entered the room and fell on the bed, where Grace was lying, looking as pretty as ever. Her hair a little messed up and one foot out of the blanket so that it wasn't too hot or cold. She woke up because of all the sunlight that had entered the room. She turned over and touched the other side of the bed, it was empty and cold. She opened her eyes to see that there was no one, nor on the bed neither in that room. A sigh escaped her mouth as she remembered that Cora was gone away for the meeting. It had been a long time since she had woken up alone, without Cora by her side. She got out of bed after procrastinating for a long time and started getting ready for the day. It was the weekend so she didn't have to go to the college and thus had woken up late and also because Cora was not there, who usually woke her up.She went out of the room and the workers greeted her and gave her birthday wishes. She smiled and thanked them. She went down to the dining area an
Complete darkness all around, even though Grace had opened her eyes and there was pin-drop silence and she stood alone in the center of the abyss. That place seemed familiar even though she could no see anything. Slowly the feeling of anxiety filled her and she froze in place due to fear, not taking any step forward; something didn't feel right, as if it was the silence before the storm. After some time, she could hear a low voice but couldn't tell what it was no matter how closely she tried to hear it. That sound increased every second and she flinched as she understood what it was. It was the voice she heard every time she felt depressed, the voice that told her to die. It became unbearable in no time. She covered her ears but it was of no use."You're useless! No one loves you! You should die instead! A piece of shit! Worthless! Just a burden! Just die!" These words kept repeating and echoing back to her in that abyss. Grace cried and struggled to avoid that- to not
