Life is all about positivity and happiness. Not everybody can achieve big things and that's why the smaller things matter too. Eliza Harper had it all, from growing up in a wealthy family to building her name in the business industry, she was living her best life.
"I think I look pretty decent," Eliza smiled at her image that she had made suitable for the special day it was. She couldn't believe it's been a whole year that Noah had proposed to her.
With a simple gesture to her driver, she was ready to go see her boyfriend for their one-year anniversary.
Noah and Eliza had a great relationship, no unnecessary brawls or no arguments over not being able to spend too much time together due to Eliza's commitments to her father's company.
Her eyes were fixated on the road as the driver sped to Eliza's first stop of the day; the flower shop.
Although Noah had consigned their anniversary to oblivion, it didn't stop Eliza from making a plan to surprise him with a fresh red rose bouquet, a cake, and a new car.
"Wait, I'll be back in a minute." she smiled at the driver very sweetly and helped herself out of the car. Her positivity could bring smiles to anyone's ruined mood.
She walked inside and paid for the bouquet she had ordered on phone. To her, every little task was indelible for their future together. She could have easily assigned her assistant to do these tasks for her, but then what would be the point if she couldn't go and pick the things up for her beloved Noah?
She wanted him to feel special and she was ready to push her commitments to the side for a day.
Just when she had grabbed the cake, her cellphone rang in her purse. A smile crept over her lips as her heart missed a beat, Noah must have remembered the specialty of this day, she thought.
Pulling her phone out of her purse, she got a tiny bit disappointed to see no texts or missed calls from Noah. It was her father who had summoned her.
She dialed his number back while playing with a petal from the rose bouquet in her lap.
"Hey Dad, good morning!" she greeted sweetly and calmly.
"Good morning Eliza!" Tom Harper, the man who has made his name with his hard work and his flawless work ethic, replied in a rather rough tone.
"Woah! You okay dad?" she picked up the disturbance in her father's voice in a flash.
They shared a beautiful father-daughter bond, and whenever one of them was going through something, the other would know instantly.
"We have a very important meeting today, and guess who am I missing? The most crucial employee, my own daughter." the way Tom announced his concerns to Eliza, she couldn't help but snicker at how dramatic her father was.
"I'll be there don't you worry. I just wanted to spend this special morning with Noah." the thought of Noah's eyes observing her with love, his sweet talks, and skin chilling whispers in her ears blessed her skin with a sensation of goosebumps.
"And let me guess, he didn't wish you an anniversary, right?" Tom didn't hate Noah; he just had some issues with how careless he could be at times towards Eliza's feelings. As a caring father, he had all the rights to question Noah for not giving Eliza the same importance she gave him.
"It's fine Dad, you don't have to rile up over such a small thing. Some people are just not very good at remembering things like these. And, I never set a bar too high, I've low expectations, father. Life has already blessed me with so much that complaining about such a small issue makes me feel like an entitled person." Eliza didn't feel like bringing attention to her emotions ever and somewhere in that process Noah had become obtuse to her feelings.
"I don't know, lately you have been putting more into this relationship than he is. And I understand you are an adult, and independent woman as you say, but don't let anyone mistreat you or disregard your emotions." Tom couldn't believe all these years of Eliza growing as a thriving businesswoman he failed to notice she was always murdering her innocent little desires of being treated well.
"I'm fine, it's fine." was all she could utter in her response.
"Okay, I'm outside his house, I'll talk to you later." She hung up on her dad once the driver parked the car in front of his house.
She managed to hold the bouquet, the cake, and the gift in her hands, dismissing to take any help as it was her boyfriend and she aimed to do everything herself for him.
Her eyes quickly scanned Noah's neighbor's front yard and a heave of sigh left her lips when she didn't see the creepy old man there.
Noah's old neighbor had always been inappropriate towards Eliza, she was a fine young lady, and where ever she went, she grabbed attention.
Holding all the stuff in her hands, she debated to herself over how was she going to ring the bell. Well, a little surprise to her that the door was already unlocked.
The frown made a v between her brows as she scrutinized the partially opened door. Pondering in her head, if Noah knew about her arrival or did, he leave it open inattentively, she paused in her steps for a moment.
"Wait! He knew I would be coming," she whispered to herself, a smile forced its way into her lips as she recalled he did ask her if she was going to come over for tonight last night.
The innocence of him not being able to demand her to come over smitten her over him.
"And father says Noah doesn't care," she shook her head at the anecdotes of today's world, where the person who is most vocal gets the admiration over the people who are not good at expressing their emotions publicly; people like her and Noah.
Eliza made her way into the house but only to be taken aback by the darkness it was engulfed in. She dropped the bags on the couch, the bouquet on the table but by the time she had made up her mind to place the cake, her eyes caught something.
There were roses on the floor, the petals were scattered all around the living area leading up to his room. She covered her mouth with one hand and giggled inside in shock.
"He remembered?" she smiled, almost ready to shed tears as slowly she began to pick up the details of his small house. He had decorated it for her, there were candles that had been melted down completely by now, indicating that he had waited the whole night for her.
Noah knew Eliza was an independent, hardworking lady, maybe that's why he couldn't ask her to pay him a visit so he left the whole decision in her hands while he waited the whole night for her.
The feeling of being wanted somewhere you find peace in left Eliza misty-eyed. She smiled like a silly, looking around while holding the cake in her hands.
"Oh! I love you, babe," she babbled under her breath.
She has to go wake him up so that they can spend some time together before she heads back to the office.
As she swirled her body around to amble towards his room, her eyes fall upon a bag. The tiger stripes pattern looked way too familiar. It didn't her long to recognize this bag, the owner of the bag was none other than Noah's childhood bestie Taylor Wilson. She was one problematic person that Eliza didn't feel comfortable around.
Taylor would always compare herself to Eliza even when the dynamic of both the girl's relationship with Noah was different.
"What is this bag doing here?" The smile from moments ago had vanished by then, Eliza's eyes were glued at the bag.
She kept thinking why this bag was here?
After Taylor had caused enough issues in between them, Noah had dropped her out to pursue his romantic relationship with Eliza without having to always come between them to break the arguments.
Eliza too thought Taylor had feelings for Noah and despite asking Noah many times if he felt the same about her, he refused to answer her by giving Taylor a tag of She is only a friend
Eliza was shaken awake from the thoughts she had drowned by a weird noise coming from his room. Eliza skeptically watched the room's door as her heartbeat slowed down.
Those weren't just any noises, those were sounds of pleasure. Eliza, who was still holding the cake in her hands, reached the door with a heavy heart. She knew her poor heart was going to be shattered today, she knew she was going to discover something that would change her life.
And she was not wrong!
As she gently pushed the door open, before her was the most horrifying and disgusting sight to see.
Taylor was in his bed, the same bed Eliza had slept with Noah, completely unclothed and on top of her was Noah. They were in the process of finishing.
Eliza could see this wasn't their first session from last night. So, this was why he wanted to make sure if Eliza planned on coming over last night.
All the preparations were for Taylor. Her Heart skipped a beat when Noah grunted loudly as he finished inside Taylor. His pleasure was followed by a gasp from Eliza's lips as the cake slipped through her hand to the floor and got both Noah's and Taylor's attention.
Taylor looked shocked; his eyes made a detailed eye contact with Eliza's. She couldn't even see his reaction properly as her vision got blurred with the tears of pain in her eyes.
Eliza stayed in the kitchen to have a word with Noah, giving them both some privacy to get dressed. She couldn't believe what she just saw. All these months, Eliza had done nothing but taken care of Noah, who had been relying on Eliza for his rent and to even pay the bills.
It was time! It was time for a meeting... a negotiation. Eliza was an ace at this! Making companies get wowed by her own company “HarperCorp”’scontracts was like a breeze for her. She was able to get the companies representative’s signatures on the paper with the snap of her finger. It was child’s play for her. Many people from the business world admired her such skills and destined to become just like her.She adjusted the cresses of her suit as she prepared herself to walk i
As she was on her way home, she made the driver stop at the side of the road. The driver was confused why she made him do that as they were not even close to her house. They were not even halfway there.“Ma’am, what happened?” the driver asked her in concern and worry. His face was radiating his confusion about Eliza’s order to stop. He saw her depressed face and got even more concerned.
Eliza looked at Benjamin in silence before bursting out in laughter. “Let’s do it” she said before pulling out her phone from her purse. They were ready to call Noah and give a piece of their mind. With a click of a button, Noah’s number began to dial. Eliza and Benjamin were waiting patiently for him to pick up the call.
Benjamin was letting out moans as his length was squeezing and pushing its way into Eliza, causing him intense pleasure.Eliza’s body was throbbing as Benjamin kept increasing the speed of his thrusts. His torso kept hitting her raised thighs.Benjamin leaned towards her face and gave her another wet kiss. She wrapped her hands around his waist but the constant movement kept breaking it. She fin
Eliza was in shock as her eyes were met with the same guy who she let into her body. The same guy that rocked the bed that they were in. As she stared into his dark brown eyes, her mind was filled with his moves on her. The meditation she put herself through to clear her mind was all put to waste as Benjamin’s face took over her.She wanted to run to him and into his arms. She wanted to feel his touch once again and stay close to him.
As Eliza and Benjamin were left alone in the room, the two could not keep away from each other. They walked up close to each other, feeling asexcited as they could.“So… you are the CEO ofMinwall, huh?”Eliza askedas she caught hold of his tie, twirling it around her finger.“And youwork
Shannon knew what she had to do to make sure that the little leech named Eliza leaves her ex-husband alone. There was no way she was going to let this girl get what belonged to her. With the help of some background checks, Shannon was able to snoop into Eliza's past."Hmm," she smacked her lips, her eyes glued to her phone as she read the information that had been sent to her phone, "From someone like Noah to Ben
Long after his exhausting night, it was finally the next morning. Benjamin woke up at the command of his usual early alarm. He was punctual and did not require to hit the snooze button even once. He dressed up in his normal business attire— a blue suit, before walking downstairs towards Bailey’s room. It was his morning routine to go ahead and wake his little daughter up and prepare her for school. However this time, his eye caught a glance of Eliza and Eleanor’s room that was located adjacent to Bailey’s. He contemplated whether to greet Eleanor a good morning first but he somehow felt that he should go ahead with Bailey. After all, he did recall how stressful last evening was. Bailey’s doors were opened, allowing Benjamin to witness his daughter surprisingly out of bed before his arrival. He was amazed by what he saw… so much so that his face tightened as his mouth stretched with a gasp. “Bailey? Is that you?” He asked, still maintaining his previous look. Bailey, who was
“Would you mind explaining yourself, Benjamin?” “Why was that woman in this house?” Eliza spat out critical questions in front of Benjamin who showed his back to her. The two were in contrasting states with Eliza being extremely furious and demanding while Benjamin was calm and cool. “Answer me, Benjamin.” She walked right up to him and placed her right hand on his shoulder in order to gain his attention. Without any warning, once Eliza’s hand touched his shoulder, Benjamin vice gripped her arm and held it behind her back. “Ahhh!” Eliza moaned in pain as his strength was unmatched in comparison to her tiny frame. “Don’t you dare touch me.” Benjamin rebuked her actions with a stern touch in his voice. Eliza knew he wasn’t playing around. He was at the brink of ripping her arm off. “Then tell me under what reason did you allow Shannon here? Why is that demon so close to my children?” Eliza cried out. “The same reason why I’m allowing you to be so close to MY children.” Upon he
Shannon stood rigidly at the entrance of the grand dining room, her gloved hand clutching a bundle of shopping bags, while the other removed her tinted sunglasses to allow the bright light of the room to penetrate her eyes. As her vision cleared, Shannon's heart plummeted with shock as her gaze fell upon none other than Eliza. The tell-tale sign of her surprise was visible through the sudden constriction of her pupils. Her hands, weakened by the shock, could not bear the weight of the bags, and they tumbled to the ground with a loud thud. Meanwhile, her red lips parted in disbelief. "Eliza?" Shannon muttered, feeling lost and unsure of how to react. In the presence of everyone seated at the grand table, Shannon struggled to regain her composure. Everything felt so unreal initially until realisation hit her. A surge of anger coursed through her body as she recalled the years of hard work she had put into getting rid of Eliza for good. Shannon could hardly fathom how her nemesis ha
Eliza did not waste a second before scooping Eleanor in her arms, not breaking her eye contact with Benjamin. She was furious internally by his behaviour that he was displaying in front of an innocent child. “My baby, are you okay?” she asked, breathing heavily while inspecting Eleanor in case Benjamin was rough with her. She knew that whenever anger took over the man, his senses completely collapsed. He wouldn’t be able to distinguish right from wrong and harm the ones he’s supposed to protect. Thankfully, Eleanor was in perfect condition but it was obvious that she was mentally disturbed by the clash between her parents. Once Eliza and Eleanor entered Benjamin’s mansion, memories began to flood Eliza’s mind without any warning. She remembered all the moments she used to spend with Benjamin in each and every single corner of the place. The moment they wanted to commit their lives to each other. A tear trickled down the corner of her eye but she instantly wiped it clean. She d
“Please Benjaminn…. Please give me my daughter back.” Eliza was practically on her knees begging for the safe return of Eleanor. As time passed with Eleanor not by her side, Eliza felt an empty hole in her heart. She didn’t want to fail the only daughter she had left. Getting her back was the only way to mend her broken heart. “You don’t have to beg this prick for anything, Eliza.” “If he won’t co-operate and give our Eleanor back, I’ll make sure his life will be a living hell.” Tom targeted his blood shot eyes at Benjamin with his fists tightening with every passing second. If it weren’t for the security guards, Tom’s anger would have led him into a fist brawl with his daughter’s ex-lover. The atmosphere was silent with tension looming over it. While Eliza and Tom were restless, Benjamin had a cold expression plastered on his face. Amidst the guards, Benjamin began to advance his way towards the father-daughter duo on the other side of the gate. “Sir, what are you doing? Plea
Eliza was devastated seeing Benjamin run off with her daughter. She failed to protect Eleanor after all these years, making her hit herself in the gut. Her face depicted the combination of anger, frustration and sadness that she was feeling internally.Dozens of people passed by her but did nothing to help. They spectated her as if she was putting on some act which made her heart ache even more. ——— “Eliza? Oh my god, what happened to you?” Tom was horrified to find his daughter’s face disfigured with sadness. The tears rolling down her eyes dragged her black mascara with them, staining the rest of her face. Her appearance was night and day compared to what it was when she left the house to spend a day with Eleanor at the mall. “Dad… he… he took her!” Eliza sobbed, her face falling in her dad’s arms. He gently caressed her while bearing a stressed out and confused expression. “Who took who? Eliza? Where is Eleanor?” Tom fretted several questions at her. “B-Benjamin… he took m
Chapter 56“Please stop this Benjamin. I don’t have any energy left to argue with you. Let’s just go our separate ways and pretend we never saw each other.” Eliza said with a defeated sigh. It took everything in her to not break down in tears in front of her ex and children. She did not want to cause a scene in front of any of them. Moreover, she was feeling very emotional after taking a look at Bailey. She recalled giving her up unwillingly to Sharon that day at the hospital. If only…. If only she was not so helpless, she could have had Bailey to herself instead of letting her grow up with a man like Benjamin Clayton. She always wanted to be a role model to her children to grow up to be fearless, independent women but looking at her now, she felt like she failed to do so. “Come on, Eleanor, let’s leave.” Eliza grabbed ahold of Eleanor’s hand and proceeded to leave everything she encountered here behind. Eliza knew she couldn’t let all those years of healing herself be shattered
Eliza couldn’t believe what she was seeing in front of her. The Benjamin Clayton was standing tall in front of her. “Be-benjamin?” she muttered under her breath. Never in these years, she expected to say that name again. Never did she expect to see that charming face once again. He looked the same, except a bit more mature. Eliza was in awe to be so close to him once again. Memories of the cruel treatment that he subjected her to instantly began to play in her mind. The colour on her skin flushed out with the intense anxiety she began to feel, reliving all those painful memories. A lonesome tear began to trickle down her cheek and onto Eleanor’s head. Eleanor was nervous, wondering what was going on in her mother’s mind. Bailey noticed that Benjamin wasn’t even looking at Eliza. He was fixed on Eleanor as if he was seeing a miracle in front of his very eyes. Eliza’s grip on Eleanor’s tiny arm grew tight with fear and sadness taking over her appearance. Her heart began to race r
“You mean you want to bring your mom and my dad together?” “Yes!” Eleanor answered Bailey’s question with an eager face. She was nervous and anxious at the same time as she knew she was very close to finding out who her real dad was. Though it had been long with his absence in her life, it was better late than never. Bailey took in a short burst of air and let out a sigh. She played with her air as she was lost in her thoughts with Eleanor patiently waiting for some sort of reaction from her side. “But don’t you think they’d get upset if we did this? I mean… they must’ve separated for a reason.” Bailey broke her train of thought and let out a crucial question. She knew very well how angry her dad could get. “You’re right… but… this is the only way to get the truth out of them.” Eleanor stuttered in a low voice. Though she was concerned as well, she couldn’t think of any other way. It was either them uniting their parents or all of them acting like total strangers for the rest o
