Not A Scam

“Eddy, I’m not being stupid. It’s a long story, but he really is my mate,” I say, running to go grab her arms and try to stop her. She’s a little taller than me, so she can still look at Justin like she wants to kill him, “He’s a good guy. And he’s RICH. He’s a prince.”

Eddy stops to give me the most incredulous look she’s ever given me.

“Oh god, you’re even dumber than I thought,” she lets out, and before I can even keep defending my situation, Eddy grabs me and she literally picks me up to take me away. I can hear Justin sigh as I go. Just a sigh, that’s all.

“I’m not dumb,” I growl when we’re in her room.

“Nina, in what universe would a damn prince just show up out of nowhere to tell you that you’re his fated mate? Wake up, this isn’t real,” she says, grabbing me to shake me like she’s trying to knock some sense into my head, “It’s a probably the newest scam! He’s scamming you!”
