Ivy staggered backward and held her cheek in pain. It stung badly and became red almost immediately.

Ivy looked at Tarquin with teary eyes, she was completely taken aback by what he had done. She had expected so many things from him but not for him to slap her in the face.

Ivy held back her tears, rushed out of there, she grabbed her bag on the way. She ran upstairs in a struggle and reached her room before tears began trickling down her cheeks.

She rushed to the bed and buried her face in it.
