I lean forward and with venom, I growl, “PRINCESS DELORIS, I LOVE YOU!”

Her eyes nearly bulge out as she sinks into the chair like someone just knocked the wind out of her.  Her pain soon etched on her face as she grabs her chest and gasps for air.

A wave of satisfaction courses through my veins as I turn and walk out of the room.  Charles’ booming voice follows me down the hallway.  “Take her to the jail and don’t let anyone talk to her.  Absolutely no one.”

A timid voice asks, “How about the Queen?”

My footsteps slow down as I churn my head to listen.

Charles pauses for a moment.  “If the Queen wants to see her, we can’t stop her.”  He doesn’t wait for a reply as his heavy footsteps echo through the hallway behind me.

I, once again, pick up my pace with my fists swinging at my side and my heart pounding in my chest.  I would like to revel in my victory and the pain my words have ca

After visiting Brandon and Katherine’s room, Shane wheels me back into my hospital room. My eyes instantly go to my father’s bed and, like always, I say a small little silent prayer that he will wake up soon. However, I’m relieved to see that the room is back to normal. Page jumps off the couch. “Dee, are you feeling better now?” Feeling better. Can I really feel better after what we witnessed? I sigh and slowly shake my head. “I’m not better, but I think I’ve gotten most of my frustrations out. Thanks for helping to clean the room up after my explosion.” Shane stops the wheelchair next to my bed and steps to the side of me. A crease forms along his forehead as he looks down at me. “Did you get out of bed on your own before?” Page rushes to the other side of the bed and blurts out, “Yes. She was like a raging bull that you couldn’t stop.” I sigh and slowly nod my

I glance to my side and smile at Shane.I don’t know what I would be like right now if I didn’t have him next to me all the time. Well, maybe my little explosion wouldn’t be a onetime occurrence. Even with him here, I still need to find some way to get my punching bag or something like that in here so I can release all my anger and frustrations somehow.I turn my attention to the couch, where Uncle Charles is on his phone with his laptop in front of him on the coffee table. From the way he is furrowing his eyebrows, and he glares at the laptop screen, I can tell that he isn’t happy about something.Page isn’t sitting too far from him with her own laptop opened and in front of. However, by the way she is tapping the pen against the side of her cheek, I know she is looking through files and maybe even some video. Whenever she concentrates hard, she has this same look.I then

I look across the room at my father, who slowly flutters his eyes open. Oh, my gosh! He is awake! YES! I whip the blankets off me, but before I can climb out of bed, Shane scoops me up in his arms and carries me over to my father’s bed. My mother rushes to his side while the others crowd around the bed too. I have so many things to say to him, but right now, I can’t think of anything of them. Shane sits me down on the edge of the bed, while I stare at my father with a smile on my face. We have been waiting for so long and the moment has finally come. He is awake. Tears trickle down my mother’s cheeks as she leans over him and hugs him. Her voice cracks as she tries to talk. “Honey. You’re awake.” As she stands back upright, he smiles and nods and his voice comes out hoarse and scratchy. “Yes. I’m awake. Well, technically, I’ve been awake for a while,

While the medical staff works on me, I turn and look across the room at my daughter.I wanted so badly to wake up for her coronation. I could hear everything that was going on around me in the room, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t fight through the darkness to get into the light. The darkness kept pulling me back.It took me longer than I thought, but I’ve finally managed to get back here and to the people I love. However, what have I come back to?Guilt washes over me as I think about Irene. If I knew this would happen, I would have never agreed to let her date or even marry Robert. However, I didn’t have any clue back then that she would pull something like this.Even though I’ve exiled her brother and kept his crimes hidden from the world, I know I can’t do the same with her. Too many people saw her attack on me on a live broadcast. From wha

In the dim light, I glance over at my parents as they sleep on the hospital bed on the other side of the room with my father’s arm wrapped around my mother. It has been an entire day since he has woken up and it still seems like a dream. However, I’m glad that it isn’t a dream, but a reality. We have one person awake. Now, we need to get the rest of my family awake while hunting down and locating all of Irene’s traitorous group of bandits.I know I’ve seen the information and Max has even brought all her interrogation videos for me to watch, but I still can’t believe I’ve been so wrong and for so long about her. Not to mention, I need to apologize to Katherine again when she wakes up.I thought I had developed the ability to read people well, but this situation shows me that my abilities aren’t as good as I thought. The only solace I have now is that most of th

A couple nurses huddle around me as I shuffle down the hall. Occasionally, my legs wobble slightly, but that isn’t my problem right now. The dizzy spells are what stop me in my tracks.I glance to the end of the hall at Shane and smile. He stands there like a model and my prize with a smile while his hazel blue eyes encourage me to keep going. The corners of my lips curl upward as I take another step and my leg wobbles a bit. From behind me, my father’s proud voices booms, “You can do it, baby girl. Just a little farther.”I shake my head as I choke down the giggle trying to escape. This isn’t the time to act like a little schoolgirl. The nurse to my right softly asks, “How are you doing, your majesty? Any issues with your vision? How about your legs?”Again, I shake my head. “No. I’m good so far.” I won’t

The traitors will be captured, or hopefully are already captured, and will rot in jail.”Her father shakes his head. “You can’t go out and say something like that. You must use a little more finesse. With something like that, you will not only scare the villains but also everyone else in the country. A small part of me is disappointed I’m coming back, but another part of me is happy, not because of the events which have brought me back, but because I can stop moping around the house. I hate to admit it but retired and I don’t work well with each other. Before I even turn on the computer, I yell out, “Page! I need an update! I bite my lower lip as my fingers fidget with my pants. My eyes are glued up front at the judge as he turns to the jury box and the jurors. “Have you reached a verdict?” The court room falls into complete silence. A lady stands up and announces, “Yes, we have, your honor.” My breath catches. This is it. I silently pray that this is the end of this chapter of our lives. The judge nods. “On the first count of attempted murder regarding the attack on the King, what is your verdict?” I hold my breath as I lean slightly forward. “Guilty.” YES!! I turn to my side and huge my husband, Shane, as tears stream down my face. I have so many things I want to say, but I can only manage to mutter a few words. “Yes. Finally.” His strong arms wrap around me and hold me tight. His voice cracks as he replies, “Yes. We finally have justice.”

As I bite the inside of my mouth, I take a deep breath. I need to stay focused. My eyes jump from one video to the next, hoping to spot my boyfriend and my uncle. However, I can’t find them anywhere. I bite down harder as my heart races. Please make sure Shane and my uncle are alright. Even though my mind is in a whirlwind and my heart is racing, I force myself to stay on task and finish what we have started. I keep my eyes on the various videos while I bark orders into the microphone. Each passing moment seems to stretch on forever. Periodically, I glance back at the video for my father’s hospital room, making sure my parents are still alright. My heart wrenches as my eyes stop on the various videos of people running and screaming. Even though I have the sound turned off on them, their screams still echo in my head. Several injured people are being helped away

I just found him.I take a deep breath.I’m surrounded by complete silence, which amplifies the banging from the earlier bullets which is still ringing in my ears.I have been around gun fire before, but this time seems to be different. However, the only difference is I’m now the queen instead of the head of security.A loud bang against the door reminds me that even if the room is a safe room, if Irene’s gang really wants to get me, they can find a way through the thick steel door no matter how many locks are on it or how much security is around.I take a deep breath. My mind goes back to our plan. I must follow the plan.&nbs

I’ve seen the doctor’s report and have talked extensively with them. I know the cold, hard truth. Neither of my brothers has good odds. It seems they took the bulk of the impact trying to protect Katherine and her unborn child. However, I don’t protest.
