It was raining outside when evening arrived. I was waiting for Percival in my office. He said he would pick me up after work to bring me home like he usually does since we began living together.

My eyes were glued to the ring on my finger. The lavish and stunning diamond ring would never go unnoticed. I'm sure that some people would even recognize it right away and know that it cost a fortune.

Looking at it made me recall what Cadmus had told me years ago. He tried to manipulate me into thinking that no one would want me. This ring would be a slap to his face once we finally see each other again.
