Chapter Nine: A Good and Happy Family

Third Person's POV

“Thank you,” Marissa said and gave the fare to the Uber driver. “Have a safe ride, sir.”

“Thank you, ma’am,” the driver said in delight while accepting the fare from Marissa.

She opened the car’s door with two plastic bags from the backseat. The apartment she lived in with her grandmother was near VC Holdings Inc. Maybe fifteen to twenty minutes of driving any vehicle.

The night was young, she observed when she looked at the environment around her. People were walking around the streets with their either dogs or family. Vendors of street food scattered, and it tempted her.

Should she go outside later and buy some?

“I’m home!” Marissa announced as she opened the door of her apartment. The person she immediately thought of was, “Grandma?” she mumbled and curiously looked around the interior.

“Oh, you already arrived! I prepared your favorite macaroni soup!”

Marissa’s heartfelt relief as she heard her grandma’s voice from the kitchen. She sighed with a comforting smile
