“You mean, you need money?”
“You can just ask us to lend you money right?” The two boys said in unison. I can’t help right now but sigh in disappointment.
“Wait, better than that… we can just give you money. You know, I have a treasury all to myself, Drew has a pastry shop who has a great amount of income. Just ask and we can give you the amount.” Uriel emphasized. He said it in a monotonous tone and yet it still bears confidence, his face— emotionless, no twitches, no smudges— it’s a straight serious face and it scares me. This guy, the Crown Prince, a person soon to be king, has his own treasury that should be used for the sake of the kingdom— will willingly give me some of it just because I asked for a way to earn money. ‘I don’t know if I should feel loved or terrified.”
“Yeah, I mean, we won’t hesitate to help you.” Drew seconded, and by this point, I really want to face palm. It’s nice to have two cousins who will back you up at anything and do their best to help you but, I don’t know. It feels nice but, as someone who grew up in solving her own problems and standing up for herself— Reine can be regarded as a strong independent woman. Frielle can too, but, since I didn’t experienced this type of care, I am confused on how to respond. Besides, I still want to be a strong independent woman in this world.
And for that, I must clarify my statement.
“Okay both of you, I know you want to help me as much as possible, however, I want to do this on my own as much as possible. I don’t want to rely on the treasury of the Crown Prince, nor to the income of Crème De La Crème. Those are yours and I insist you use that for your own, or yourself.”
“But—“ They both interjected.
“No, I insist. Now, I was asking for a way to earn income, let me clarify. I want to establish a business where the earnings can be put into the funds of the dukedom and can also generate jobs for the citizens. And to do that, I need possible investors. I need someone who is influential in the market or the business world to be specific.” The place was filled with a chilling silence, there’s no rustling of leaves from the trees, no wind or even chirping of birds, or even a single sound of an insect. The two boys got to thinking as I took a sip of my tea. My request may seem absurd or impossible to do so and that I may be asking for too much.
Now that I think about it, no one is far more influential than the royal family, and Drew can be a potential investor. They both can help me already, but, I must not rely on them. Also, if they ever help me, that would only generate rumors.
“But, we fit what you need. At least at the influential part.” Uriel reasoned. I made another sigh before explaining myself once more.
“Have you forgotten? I am surrounded by bad reputation. If the people knew that you are helping me, they might take it in a wring way. Best case scenario is that they might think that I am just using you; but the worst case stand for itself: they might think that I am manipulating you, that I am using you for my personal gain. If that happens, things will get worse than ever before and that you guys— especially you, Uriel— might get caught to the wrath of the citizens. And we can’t have that. You’re the Crown Prince, you must have the full support of the kingdom.” With that said, Uriel just fell into silence, and just gave me an understanding nod.
Drew was about to protest but I stopped him. With a calm smile and eyes that tells no protest no more, he didn’t dare open his mouth further. So now, we are here, sitting at the gazebo in the middle of the garden enjoying out tea and snacks. The wind was back and as it blows, it carried the scent of the flowers that enveloped the gazebo. The sun was in its early sunset. The sky was painted with the hues of orange, purple and blue. It was a scenery from paintings, with a flock of birds flying in a V shape, getting ready to nestle on their homes. And so His Majesty needs to.
With that, we ended our afternoon tea. We walked Uriel to his carriage, with a little casual talk along the way. As I saw his carriage drove away, I can’t help but feel heavy in my heart, as if theirs is something that weighs in it. Could it be because I refused the two boys offer? Or is it the possibility that I may need to really rely on them and they will get caught in the civilian’s hatred? There are so much variable in play that it makes it hard to pinpoint the possible realities. But then again, the only predictable in life is its unpredictability.
Though, I wouldn’t say that this afternoon tea ended in a bad note, nor in a good note. It’s stuck in the ion between. Before Uriel left, he promised that he will get into his connections and see if he could help me in anyway without getting caught with the dukedom’s problem nor the family issue.
We entered the manor and as I headed to my office to attend to my left work, Drew asked Nikos to prepare a horse. “Why? Is there something you need to do?” I inquired, it’s nearly nighttime and travelling at night can pose many dangers. Adding to the fact that he is a Fortess, it doubles the possibility.
He just gave me a warm smile and patted my head. “I’m just going to check on my shop, that’s all. Also, I need to return the clothes that we used during our undercover mission. Not wanting to be in the way of his plans, I let him be. He walked me to my office and by perfect timing, Nikos arrived with the announcement that the horse is ready as I entered my office. With that, Drew gave me a wave and a smile as I watched him close the doors of my office. Feeling like I was about to be a dead battery, I sat down my chair.
Even though I am sitting all day, my legs still felt like I walked a mile and a half, feeling sore and tired. My arms might as well go limp at any moment as they are tired too. But the most tired one is my mind. From morning until tonight, it did nothing but to turn the cogs around, finding the most efficient and realistic way of solving all of this issues. ‘Remember, Frielle. This is for your goal to live a carefree life. This is also your responsibility.’
With that motivation in mind, I started sorting and reading the other letters— old and new deliveries— placed atop my table. Not long after, someone knocked at my doors.
“Come in.”
“Your Grace, it is time for your meal.” Yuri announced as she pushed a trolley with a tray on it. How long did the time passed? I didn’t noticed that it’s already dark outside nor did I noticed my stomach grumble. I only felt the longing of my stomach and it’s want to taste food when I smelled the contents of the tray. Yuri placed the meal in another table— the one in front of the large sofa. While I was heading there, I savored the smell of the food.
The savory smell of the beef wafting through my nostrils as I walk closer, it felt like it was seducing me to eat it. The scent of the beef was partnered with the aromatic, and pungent smell of rosemary— the earthy scent it gives just makes the beef even more desirable. Once I was seated, I finally saw all of the contents of the plate. There’s the beef which smell is incorporated with rosemary, when cut in half, showcases the perfect medium cooking— just the way I like it. It was easy to slice and a bite is so tender I don’t need to chew much, the juices coats my tongue and makes it dance through the melody of flavors.
Beside the beef was mashed potato with gravy in the middle. The mashed potato looked creamy and smooth, a taste and it makes me remember the times when I was a journalist and this is the only thing I can cook perfectly, the only thing that I can cook and tastes fine. The gravy was in the color of creamy light brown, and it also emits the distinct smell of beef fat. When eaten together with the mashed potato, it just felt right. As if the two food were meant to be eaten together all along.
In a separate bowl is a green salad. Fresh lettuce with thin slices of green apples and a simple vinaigrette as the dressing. After a heavy flavored supper, it is the perfect way to wash the heavy flavors before drinking tea. The lettuce was crunchy to bite, and when eaten with the apple makes it perfect to taste. The vinaigrette isn’t heavy to the taste buds. For the drink, I just drank water since I had too many cups of tea for today.
‘It might be best for the tongue to drink tea after such meal but, I have to keep drinking tea in moderation.’
After that, I returned to my work load as Yuri cleaned up the table and took the dishes away. Before going out, she bowed down to show respect and closed the door.
“Back to work Frielle.” Then I was back with my work and dwelling with my mind. Come to think of it, I did say that I want to establish a business, but, what business? What business could I possibly build? Looking back at the dukedom, it is popular for its crops— actually, it is the major supplier of crops in the whole kingdom— as it is the only land with healthy soil, appropriate for planting. With its vast plains and a decent amount of woodlands, people were able to make a living with their crops. Unfortunately, everything changed as grandpa did.
Not too long ago, every farmer or crop dealer in the dukedom was profiting from their crops, enough to rise their status into the middle class. The fathers were able to send their sons into school and give them a decent life— with little to no hardships. Every family was living happily with their fortune, vast plantations and good produce. However, that changed when Grandpa turned bad.
To keep the story short: he over taxed the lands and the farmers, even the products, making the farmers unable to earn their capital back. He also took away their lands and other properties in compensation to the unpaid tax— which is unreasonable but, what can you do against as noble? All those taxes were spent in leisurely things and things of no help or significance to the dukedom.
TL; DL: He’s a tyrant through and through.
Now, due to the unfairness my grandfather has shown, the citizens who suffered greatly has develop a deep sense of hate to the Fortess family. That is also a reason why my parents, even though they tried hard to restore everything, was faced with great hardships as the hatred of the people was too great back then. I just hope that somehow it has died down even just a little bit.
One of the first things that I did upon knowing this issue was to lower the tax but, it is not enough. Many people still has no job and were barely surviving. The farmers who suffered the most were slowly getting up, but it will still take so much time before they got back to their former status. Another problem is that, because of the increase in tax to the supply back then, the farmers has to also increase their prices and so, not so many people bought their produces. Now, even though the tax is back to its original rate, the price is still high due to its low supply. And so, not many consumers were willing to buy.
‘Back to the main topic, what business should I build? I can’t do farming, that’s time consuming and I would be competing with the farmers of the dukedom. I need something new, easily creatable and not so time consuming. Another thing is that I need the raw materials to be cheap.’ My face contorted in a wrinkled forehead, knotted brows and lips on a thin line. Seriousness emits from my body as I thought hard and thorough. Tapping my finger into the desk as it might help me think faster.
My finger tapped into something that is not wood. It’s smooth and somewhat oily in touch. I looked down and noticed a wax stamp in one of the letters. That’s when something clicked inside my head.
“Yuri!” I called as I rushed outside the door. Loud steps echoed throughout the dimly lit hallways as I saw Yuri’s figure approaching.
“Yes, Your Grace?” She said, panting a little.
“Prepare a carriage for tomorrow. Make sure to have the fastest horses as we need to make things quick.”
“Yes, Your Grace. I shall have it prepared immediately. But, may I ask, where you wish to go, so that I can tell the coachman our destination.”
“I’m going to pay a visit to the farmer’s village. To the Guillemore.” Yuri seemed puzzled by my command but followed nonetheless.
Tomorrow is going to be a hectic day.
First thing in the morning, I boarded the carriage with Yuri and Nikos. I did not invite Drew with me this time, as to not get him caught if ever this visit turns into an ugly reality.
‘I wish not.’ I said to myself as I looked out the window, watching as we pass by trees upon trees with a couple of animals either up the tree or on the ground. There were some squirrels, birds of many kinds like a woodpecker, a raven, and lovebirds. On the land were a few rabbits approaching the bushes of berries, a possum and even a rustle from the bushes but I was not able to see what animal it was.
The clip clops of the horse shoes echoed through the road and through the carriage, the breeze of the wind made my hair flew in a twirling manner as the ride was fast. There were a few bumps and jumps along the road the road as there’s some rocks laying around. Nonetheless, it was a comfortable ride as it can be. After a long ride, we arrived at the entrance of the Guillemore village. The carriage slowed down as to not startle the villagers nor to arise suspicion and make them angry.
It was lunch time and many people are outside, walking from left to right, carrying pots of various sizes. Children were running along, playing tag with a happy laughter coming from their mouths. The older children were helping their parents bring food from one house to another, each having a small conversation on their ways. The whole place emits a joyful atmosphere, the small talks and the laughter creates a symphony in my ears— it is such a sweet delight. A precious moment to be savored as both in my past life and in this life, it would be a miracle to hear this symphony.
Albeit, that moment was short lived as the sounds died down. Every child stopped laughing and running around, the older ones stopped walking and having small conversations, and the parents stopped at their tracks completely. Upon seeing the carriage of the Fortess family, everyone became anxious, fearing that a terrifying person might come out of the vehicle. The horsed clicked their hooves to the ground and neighed as the carriage door opened.
Everyone watched in anticipation, wanting to know who the carriages bears inside and yet scared to know whoever the person was. Yuri got down first and was followed by Nikos. He offered me his hand for support but I didn’t accepted as I can come down just fine.
“I present to you, Her Grace, the Duchess.” Nikos announced as I showed myself to the public.
I came down wearing the simplest dress I have, wore my hair down and wore no jewelries. This is my way of showing that I am not here to flaunt the riches that I do not have. I gave them a simple nod as to show that I acknowledge their presence, however, not many bowed down to show respect.
‘This is to be expected.’ I thought as I watched those who bowed down rise up. I stared at the eyes of those who did not and showed them an understanding smile. An understanding smile that says that I may do not deserve their respect because of what my grandfather did to them.
After that, there was an awkward silence. Everyone don’t know if to stay at their place or to continue with their day. Not wanting them to miss their lunch, I voiced out my business here.
“May I talk with your Village Head? There is something I would like to propose.” I said in a soft tone just like that of a graceful girl and in the calmest and most respectful manner I can. Not long after, an elderly man walked towards me. He has gray hair and wrinkles in his face, his whole being shows signs of aging and yet, he can walk straight. He did not need of a crane or a walking stick, he can perfectly walk on his own. As he approached me, I can see signs of hard work in his body and especially his hands.
His body, although old, shows signs of buffed muscles, as if he was working out— probably farm works that made this muscles, imagine when he was younger; his hands was calloused yet firm, a sign that he is indeed a hard worker.
“Your Grace.” The old man said in a ruffed voice. “You have summoned me? Please follow me to my house and we can talk there.” He motioned his hand to the house near the village entrance. It was a fairly built house out of logs, a bit bigger than the others and closely resembles a cabin with a porch. The logs were of light in color and smooth to touch. The old man opened the door for me and invited me to sit in a small table located at the kitchen, as there is no office or meeting room in his house. It isn’t enough to have one and u can completely understand.
“Forgive me Your Grace as I do not have an appropriate place for a talk.”
“Please don’t be sorry. It is I who should for arriving without any notice in advance.” I said as I sat down on one of the chairs, Yuri stood behind me as Nikos pushed back the chair and stood beside Yuri.
“May I ask what do you want to talk about, Your Grace?”
“I will get to the point. I would like to buy your beeswax.”
The Kingdom of Sagareste: a prosperous kingdom who managed to remain at peace for a very long time. By making treaties and contracts, the kingdom has made many friends and allies with the neighboring kingdoms, nations and empires. With that, the Sagareste Kingdom has avoided war for many centuries and it will in the future. In the Sagareste Kingdom, there are 4 dukedoms that each have their own domain. One being the Fortess Dukedom which provides almost all the crops and food supply in the whole kingdom, indeed a monopoly in the production but, the lands of the Fortess dukedom are the only ones who can produce top quality and large quantity of crops every year, without fail. ‘Until that tragedy happened.’ &nb
‘To my dearest cousin, Hi, I hope that you are having a great week. As I have promised, I will help with the best that I can-- without using my status, my treasury or anything that is related to me being the Crown Prince. And so, I decided to just introduce you to someone who might be of help. I happen to be friends with a businessman who has a genuine desire to sell new things all the time. So, I have said that you have a new product and he said he’s interested in it. Now, he wants to meet you personally to have a look about this product. However, here comes the bad news, we have decided a date, without your consent I know it's disrespectful and bad. But, i think it is considerable enough since it is a long time before you two meet, finally. It’s one week. Anyways, I hope you can finish your product by then.
Duchess 8 4 days until the set day of me meeting Marcus Zoldago. As of now, I'm trying to relax by drinking Chai tea with honey and a sugar cube. Apparently, I'm still bothered by what I saw yesterday, before placing an order at the fabric shop. Was it really Uriel that I saw? Or did my eyes just trick me? And, why does the other man seem so familiar? Like I have seen him before? That can’t be the case, people with the unusual hair color such as his should be hard to forget and hard to miss. Besides, if one was born in the kingdom with that kind of hair, they would be the talk of the town for the rest of their lives, and everyone would know them… even me. It’s so uncommon and the fact that my memory makes me think that I have seen him before makes it all the more weird. And concerning when I really thought I saw Uriel yesterday.
I don’t know what happened after but, all I can say before that is just utter disappointment at my creation. I am currently trying to calm down so that i can recall some contingency plan (if i made one) to fix this mess. “Drew, I know you’re concerned about me, but please do remember, you have to be at the palace in a few minutes. You’ll be delivering some pastries right?” Drew stopped his pacing as he looked at me intently, his right index and thumb holding his chin as it’s supported by his left hand. He continued to give me the look of pleading as if telling me that ‘I don’t want to –be there, I should stay here with you.’ and the ‘I should be helping you right now’ look. I know he just wants to support me all the way through but, he still has his own life and I don't want him to be like, ‘wrapped around my finger’ or something. “Drew—” I pleade
The fire can be heard crackling as more wood was added to produce more heat, to melt the wax faster. The sound was accompanied by the clinking of mason jars, being aligned in four single files, the lining was so neat anyone who saw it might be amazed. ‘Wow, who knew Alef is such a perfectionist. I wonder if she has OCD…’ I got side- tracked with my thoughts as I watched the beeswax slowly melt. It was accompanied with occasional stirring, to ensure that there are no clumps or anything, and that it will harden perfectly to the jars. I was so focused on staring at the pot that it was seconds before I noticed Alef calling my attention, “Your Grace? Your Grace? Is there anything else that I can do to help?” she asked. I was startled by the sudden call but… I just can’t help but notice how every glass was neatly filed
To say that the deal was both a success and yet a disaster is something that you may not hear anywhere at all, it is somewhat fictional and surreal— something that we are certain to not happen. Something that we are sure to only exist in our imaginations…… However, here I am, staring into the open space of my garden, still shocked at what happened just this early afternoon— during lunch to be exact. During my talk with Marcus Timothy Zoldago. The conversation was rather, in bliss, as if it just went past my ears and my brain like the wind with the trees. It may make the leaves sway in its motion but, there’s no drastic effect or whatsoever. “Still shocked?” asked the newly arrived Drew. I uttered a small, “Yeah.” as a reply. I was sitting at my usual spot, the mini round of roses behind me as I viewed the whole garden in front of me. Drew sat at my l
Duchess 12 When I say that the conversation was a bliss, it was really a bliss, believe me. It was like there was no conversation at all. More of like, there was an exchange of pleasantries and then he just agreed with me and then left. It happened so fast that I was rendered speechless and unmoving when Urial and Drew joined me for tea in the estate garden. Aside from that, he looked down upon me, like I was much more lower than him when I am the Duchess and he is a successful businessman. Well, if we were back on Earth, a Duchess and a very successful businessman would be considered much of the same but, we are in the Kingdom of Sagareste right now, where nobility is much more important and looked up on than a successful
Duchess 13 Another morning, another day to start and be productive. “Good morning Frielle. You woke up to the right of the bed today, this is a perfect way to start the day and be productive.” I said with a happy and a cheery tone while also taking a simple stretch with my hands. Emitting a groan— a good one— I then began the day by getting out of my bed and opening the window of my room. The cool breeze of the fresh morning air started blowing inside, making the curtains flow. It was still very early, the sky was still painted in yellow and orange hues and the clouds were having an ethereal appeal to them as the sun barely shines on them, there was a little sound coming from the animals, even the birds are not fully awake yet. But still, everything is
DUCHESS 50Her Majesty the Queen then proceeded to tell me how the too much intake of steroids made my grandfather turn into a tyrannical maniac. How my grandfather would always request to have a cup of tea with her because he would experience immense straight after their tea. And then, after a few months of having constant tea with Her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elise finally gave my grandfather the blend of tea that she would always serve with him. It was mixed with all the herbs, chemicals and plants that would make up the steroids. It was a foolproof ploy and soon enough, my grandfather turned for the worst. Her Majesty the Queen erupted in a laugh as she saw the devastation and fear smeared all over my face: eyes wide from shock, tears still streaming down my cheeks as she told the whole story. She said she purposely made the writers omit that part since it would trace it all to her, “so I had to erase some footsteps so whoever tries to investigate what happened at that point of t
DUCHESS 49 The breeze of the cold wind at night made the balcony all the more relaxing, but all that relaxation was slowly being replaced by anxiety as I held the envelope in my hands. The contents were still unknown, but I hope that it would solve the final piece of the puzzle. The theory of His Majesty the King was highly plausible, given the fact that a person cannot simply overlook the emotional pain that they are holding, and it is true that the said pain will catch up to them soon. But the theory alone cannot simply explain it all. No, there must be something else, the mere grief is not enough to make a person of such good nature and good heart turn into the most tyrannical person that a person can be, and at such a fast pace. Holding the envelope in my hand, I took the both ends and proceeded to tore it apart, creating an opening for me to take the paper inside. The paper smelled like flowers and fruits--- whoever used this paper must be of noble blood and took great effort i
DUCHESS 48 Into the backrooms of the Grand Hall of the Royal Palace, the people inside were only me, Viscount Ludwig and His Majesty the King. Her Majesty the Queen and the Crown Prince were not explicitly invited thus they cannot enter here in the back rooms. The back rooms are a private room that only His Majesty the King can use and have access in to. not even the servants can just enter this room and when serving us food and drinks, the trolley was left outside and we are the ones to take it from there. Being invited in the backrooms means that His Majesty the King has something important to discuss, or it is something of a top secret kind of way. Once inside the backrooms and already had our fill of the meal: steak, fried potatoes partnered with hollandaise sauce and some wine wiiiittt h dessert included some mixed fresh fruit and honey, perfect for a refreshing end of the meal. We sat in silence as we savoured the greatness of the meal and none among the three of us dared t
DUCHESS 47 A week after the dinner at the Royal Palace, invitations are already being distributed to every noble of the Sagareste Kingdom for the upcoming awarding and banquet celebration at the end of the month. word had circled around the nobles of whom the award banquet celebration might be, but a lot of them had already suspected that the award and banquet is dedicated to the current Duchess of the Fortess uchy: Friele Marcia Madrigal Fortess— me. Upon knowing that, many of the nobles had already sent me letters of congratulations and further invitations on their houses so as to establish a connection. Still, most of the nobles are busy for the preparation of the event that is going to happen at the Royal Palace. a lot of them have been going to the modiste or summoning the best designer in the kingdom to commision a dress or a set of them. Meanwhile, the Harvesting Season had also started and the farmers were busy harvesting their produce and organising the selling price
DUCHESS 46A few minutes after my meal, I glanced over at Yuri to see how she was faring as she read through that part of the book— the one detailing the reign of tyrant grandfather when he was still alive. “Care to tell me what is said in there?'' I said while finishing up the dessert. Yuri did not budge nor acted to ever hear my voice, she was so focused on the book that she might as well place her face inside of it. her brows were scrunched, her brows almost meeting each other and forming a unibrow. I cleared my throat, in hopes to get her attention this time, and good thing it was successful.“Your Grace. Sorry, I was too immersed in the book. do– do you need anything?” the Head Maid asked as she walked closer to me, closing the book and putting it on the desk. her face was the usual blank one, a poker face if you will. but her eyes tells something else. “None at the moment. I am one with my meal. you can take them away.” I said while i wiped my mouth with the cloth. Yuri bowe
DUCHESS 45“Oh, there you are.” A voice said and soon was followed by footsteps coming closer to me. I whipped my head to the direction of the voice and the footsteps, only to see the Crown Prince, in his pajamas? That is so weird. “Uriel, why are you in your pajamas? how can you walk in the halls in your pajamas?” Seriously, we all have such weird things inside our minds. Uriel only smiled at me with his slightly sleepy eyes and replied, “I walked and traveled through the secret pathways inside the Palace walls. it's fun really, i can show them to you if you want. By the way, what are you looking for?” Uriel then grabbed a book, offering his help.“Don't you have a duty to get to?” I asked with a raised brow. nobles start their day at the break of dawn, what more for a royal. but Uriel only laughed at my question and continued, “Well, you are here. aren't you technically taking a break?” a few moments of silence passed between us with only the end of pages being flipped echoing t
DUCHESS 44“Back then your mother and I made sure that we would have time to hang out with each other, whether it be for a tea or even doing anything as long as we have each other’s presence, as long as we are on each other’s side. we are fine with that.” Her Majesty the Queen said as she took a sip from her cup. Meanwhile, I cannot help but to continue to read the letter that my mother sent to her. It was fun to read them as they would talk about just about anything. But what interested me more was when they talked about my father and the King, how they judged the two men and pointed out both the good and bad qualities of the King and my father. I could not help but laugh."Wait, my mom and you, met my father and His Majesty at the same time?" I asked, turning my head to face Her Majesty the Queen. The Queen nodded her head as a confirmation. "Yes, they used to spar with each other when learning swordsmanship. That is how we also met them, as we watched a match and we looked into e
DUCHESS 43 Violetta Suzette Perues was her name before she became queen. And even then, she was the fairest of them all. Her hair as black as ebony, her lips are red as blood and her skin as white as snow, many people swooned over her, both male and female wanted to be with her, wanted to own her. Many people would flock around her and would surround her whenever she is in the proximity, they would always try to talk to her and would always try to be close to her as proximity may allow--- they would do their best to be at skin to skin contact to her--- they would do their best to hold her. Violetta Suzette Perues then adapted an intimidating persona--- sha created a meticulously curated persona that intimidating, that is cruel and that is unapproachable--- she made it so that people would go away, so that people would flock away from her and leave her alone. But all that was in vain--- as people still flocked around her, still surround her and as if that is not enoug
DUCHESS 42 The chambers of the Queen was breath- taking. It embodies the symbols of the Royal Family: roses, gold vines and twinkling lights. The doors of the Queen’s chamber was painted pearl white and decorated with gold linings. A symbol of moon embossed on the top of the door, symbolising that it is the chamber of the Moon of the kingdom. The inside was even more so breath- taking. With red velvet curtains hanging from the huge windows, to the starlight painting at the ceiling being complimented by the chandelier inside. The receiving area of the Queen’s chamber was giving a calm atmosphere with the furnitures in the color of pastel blue. The sofas with the framing painted in gold, the tables with gold lining. The vases were filled with roses in full bloom and giving the sweet smell of flowers, it is addicting at this point. The floors were also tiled in pearl white and lined with gold. Everything was white and lined with gold: the bookshelves, the desk, the wind
