Emily pretended not to notice and gave Felix a smile, blinking her eyes. She raised her glass and lightly tapped it against his. “Even if you don’t mind, I still owe you an apology. Surely, you won’t turn me down, Mr. Lincoln?”

Her sweet voice had an almost hypnotic charm, making it seem almost cruel to refuse.

Felix raised his glass, downing it in one go. Setting it back on the table, he replied coolly, “I’m only drinking because it’s you.”

Emily’s smile grew even brighter at that. She refilled his glass, handing it back while raising her own. “Then I must thank you, Mr. Lincoln, and express my gratitude for entrusting Golden Light Corporation with the Westside project. Here’s to a successful partnership.”

“It’s not the company, it’s you.” He emptied his glass once more.
