124. Guard Down

"Yeah..." Zia Scott replied in an unhappy tone to what Belinda said.

She felt that Belinda could go on and babble flowery words, but to her it would always feel like eating a poisonous apple the moment she would let her guard down. She may not know the woman for long and she may have been too quick to judge her; however, perhaps it was woman intuition, she just couldn’t bring herself to grow fond of Belinda.

"But did you know that he got hit by a car..." Belinda said.

"No. He underwent surgery for five hours, and is still unconscious as of this moment with drugs injected in his body, plus a few scars that will probably be permanent or at least take a few months to disappear. Yeah, I think the reason was he spent, like, an hour looking for me and he just got really exhausted," Zia scoffed as she thought to herself.

"...because he was trying to save a little girl?"

"What?" Zia uttered.

"And from what I've heard, the little girl had blonde hair and was wearing a white dress," Belind
