ALEXA

“Let go of her, right now!”

That was Noelle’s voice, and it was what brought me back to reality. Everyone present at the club was now looking at us, and Mark’s hand still held onto my wrist possessively…and painfully.

“Let her go, Mark,” Noelle ordered again when it seemed as though Mark was deaf to her orders.

“Stay out of this,” Mark eventually said, glaring at Noelle. His voice was throaty and husky, and I wondered if it was as a result of what happened between the two of us; if he felt it too, or if it was as a result of his anger.

“Why should I?” Noelle asked, facing Mark fearlessly and boldly.

She had never liked him, and knowing Noelle the way I did, I knew that she would definitely use this opportunity to get at Mark for what he made me go through. She hardly ever saw him, because she could not stand his presence.

“Last time I checked, she was your ex-wife, Mark,” Noelle added.

Mark smirked. “You are mistaken, Noelle,” he simply said, leaving Noelle’s eyes to budge out in shock and confusion, and she turned to me quickly.

“Alexa?” Noelle called out, demanding some sort of answers from me immediately, and I knew that I just had to step in.

I could not continue to just keep quiet and not say a word. Clearly, Mark intended to rile Noelle up, and also, he intended to ruin the fun that we were here to have, and I was not going to allow that to happen.

I snatched my arm away from Mark’s grip and looked at him with bitterness and anger, which wasn’t even hard to do because all he did to me were still fresh and hurtful.

“I divorced you, Mark,” I told Mark, loud enough for Noelle and everyone to hear.

I began to hear some murmurs from the people watching us, but I would not back down. This was a new me, and I intended to let Mark and everyone know this. Looking at Mark now, I could see how cruel, possessive, and selfish he was. This was his ploy to take control, but for the very first time, I would let him know that he had failed woefully.

“I haven’t signed the divorce papers,” Mark said.

He still had that disgusting smirk on his face, and his tone was nothing short of condescending and aggravating, which was just the typical Mark Ronaldo.

“And you will,” I said without flinching or stuttering.

I guessed my tone and the confidence in the sound of my voice took Mark by surprise, because I did catch a flicker of astonishment before it was gone.

“So this is what you intend to do with your life? Get away from me and whore around the city like a loose dog?” Mark asked insultingly.

Rarely had he finished the question before my palm connected with his cheek in a loud smack and everyone gushed in shock. Even Mark was too stunned to respond at first, and I glared at him, waiting and daring him to return the favor.

“You should have just let her be, Mark,” Noelle chipped in. “Now see how embarrassed you have ended up,” Noelle added.

She quickly moved me away from Mark’s presence and stood in my place, so when Mark gazed his eyes upon me again, it was Noelle that he was looking at.

“Alexa is no longer your wife and she is pleased to do whatever she likes with her life. The Dancing Devil is a place for anyone who can afford it, and if you dare try to attack, harass, confront, or even speak to her again, I will have the securities throw you out and demand that the management keep you out of this place for a really long time,” Noelle added threateningly.

With that, without even waiting for Mark to say a word in his defense, she turned to me and led me to our booked chamber, and the ten men who had been hired by Noelle climbed the mini-stage in our chamber and began to entertain us as though nothing had happened.

“You would really do that?” I asked Noelle, because to me, that threat seemed somewhat extreme, and knowing how stubborn and daring Mark was, he might actually take her up on that threat, and if she failed to deliver, it would blow up in our faces.

“I don’t know, and I guess I wouldn’t even need to,” Noelle answered, feeling very proud and accomplished.

“Why?” I asked, almost confused.

“Because your ex-husband has returned to his table with his friends, whom I am certain are going to make jest of him,” Noelle said.

Noelle hardly knew the kind of man Mark Ronaldo was; no matter how badly you came at him, his friends would never have the balls to make jest of the situation or make him feel terrible. I had seen how they were around him a couple of times, and they literally worshipped the ground he walked on, but I decided not to deflate Noelle’s confidence with that piece of information.

“He still hasn’t signed the papers, which means that we are still married, and he is upset because it was his money I spent for all these,” I told Noelle.

“Come on, Alexa, can you stop talking about that asshole for a minute and just focus on what is in front of you?” Noelle asked, referring to the ten men who were gliding and whining sensually. “Look, if you are going to make Mark feel like a piece of shit tonight, you will have to actually ogle these men and do something wild. I bet his eyes are still glued to you,” Noelle added.

I made the mistake of turning to check just to confirm, and true to Noelle’s words, Mark was looking at us, as our eyes connected from our tables apart.

I swallowed and looked away. Then I said to Noelle, “You know what, you are right.”

“Yes, girl, work it!” Noelle said loudly like a drunken woman, urging me on.

With that, I grabbed some money from my purse, climbed up the stage and allowed some of the men to flirt with me while they danced and I sprayed them without a single fuck in the world.

MARKI tried to take my eyes off Alexa and the throng of men that were shamelessly dancing with her on her mini-stage, but I just couldn’t, and it was very obvious that she was enjoying it.Frankly, if I didn’t know Alexa well enough, I would have sworn that she wasn’t the woman on that stage; maybe her lookalike, but definitely not her. I had never seen Alexa that sexy and alluring, and as I watched, my jaw clenched in annoyance. How dare those godforsaken paid male prostitutes have the nerves to touch Alexa that way? Worse, her witch of a friend, Noelle, continued to scream and urge her on, and even more annoying that the money Alexa sprayed on them were mine.“Mark,” Vector called. “Mark,” he called again, and when Mark still didn’t answer or even take his eyes away from Alexa and her escapade, Vector decided to snap his fingers.“What?” I asked, turning to Vector, my eyes blazing with anger and rage. “What is it?” I asked him gruffly.“You have been staring over there for too lon

Ivy noticed it too.“Mark, what’s wrong?” She asked me as she touched and caressed me. “You are still very soft,” she stated the obvious.I sighed and fell in bed. I knew exactly what was making it hard for me to get a hard-on, but I did not want to tell Ivy about it, and it was very convenient to blame it on the fact that Alexa had pissed me off.“I just have so much on my mind,” I told her, which wasn’t a lie, because my head was filled with those bloody men dancing around Alexa at the club.“Is it the divorce with Alexa?” Ivy asked with concern in her voice.I turned and looked at Ivy, telling myself that she was the woman I loved and the woman that I was really in love with.“Yeah, yeah,” I said. “It is taking a toll on me,” I added.“I know that you cannot wait to be free from her, and I could talk to my mum and our dad to force her into signing the papers since she is trying so hard to c

ALEXA“I was merely having a nice time,” I said, almost stuttering.I did not see how this was a problem, because the last time I checked, Ivy was allowed to do whatever she wanted, and she had also indulged in wilder things, so why was mine a problem, and why had the blogs decided to make a fuss about it.“At the detriment of the family’s name?” Mr. Silver asked, sounding more and more angered and disappointed. The look in his eyes broke my heart, because I never wanted to do anything that would make him disappointed in me. • Till Divorce Do Us Part   My Tiny Slice Of Revenge

ALEXAWith tears in my eyes, I packed my thing. After I told Mark that I was divorcing him, I left our supposed matrimonial home and returned home. Now, I had been asked to leave.Packing was even difficult, because I could barely see what I was shoving into my box. When my cell phone rang and I saw that it was Noelle, I was relieved, because I just needed something to calm my nerves down.“Hey, how did it go? What was it your dad wanted to see you for?” Noelle asked over the phone, and I just burst into hot and painful tears.“He asked me to leave, Noelle,” I blurted out.“What?” Noelle sounded stunned. “Why would he do that? What happened?” Noelle asked, but she quickly added even before I could answer her. “You know what, don’t answer that right now. Just bring your stuff over to mine, okay? We will talk when you get here.”“Noelle, no, I don’t want to inconvenience you,” I said, shaking my head, even though I knew that deep down, there was nowhere else I could think to go.It was

Everything had been going on well until I returned to Paris and heard the most shocking news of my life; Mark and Alexa were married. From there, trying to get Mark back to me had been proving all kinds of difficult.“Do I really have Mark back?” I asked, looking at my mum.“Of course you do,” She said. “You spent the night at his, didn’t you?” Clara asked.“I did, but we didn’t have sex,” I confided in her and her eyes widened in shock. “We didn’t even sleep in th

I didn’t blame her anyway, because she got a boyfriend before me, and she had the boldness of a lion; something that I doubted I would ever have in a million year to come.“What I am supposed to do, Noelle?” I asked, crestfallen.“Jeez, Alexa, you are so slow to learn!” Noelle continued to scold me.I knew that she enjoyed it, so I allowed her.

ALEXAI went right into the dressing room, panting like a deer that had just completed a marathon. My heart was thumping really fast and my head was beginning to bang loudly.Noelle came in almost immediately.“Alexa, I am so sorry,” she said instantly. “I tried to prevent the coordinator from allowing her say a single word, but I couldn’t, and also, I did not want to give the crowd a bad impression,” Noelle explained hastily as though it was her fault.Yeah, it was because I didn’t also want to give out a wrong impression that I allowed Ivy mockingly and stylishly bully me. What she asked was a very sensitive question, and that alone was enough to ruin everything that we had both worked for. One thing that was for sure was that people were more than interested in knowing family secrets and stories. If they knew what was going on between my dad and I and why he wasn’t present, half of them might take their leave and never contact me for a business contract.“It is not your fault, Noe

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   The First Party Speech

ALEXAI was about starting my speech on the stage when I caught sight of Mark and Ivy who just entered the hall. Fortunately, I hadn’t already begun, otherwise their entrance would have stalled my speech, and everyone, or most people would have noticed. They were both dressed in matching colors, an obvious indication that they were a couple, and as Ivy clung dearly to Mark’s side, they almost looked like a pair made in heaven.Anyway, I had to quickly remind myself that I was on the stage, and that every prominent man in the hall were here because of me, waiting to address them. Whatever I would say now would determine if all this was worth it or if I was going to sink, and I reminded myself that I didn’t want to sink at all.“Good evening gentlemen and their ladies,” I started after taking a few deep breaths. I had already determined in my heart not to look in Mark and Ivy’s direction so that I wouldn’t lose focus. If I was to do this, I would have to do it well. “Thank you all for

I had already decided that after this party, I would be returning back to work.Mr. Devon was right; if I had paid rapt attention to the company’s policies, I would have known what was at stake, and at such, I would never have allowed that divorce pull through, but then again, it wasn’t until Alexa asked

ALEXAMy whole world crumbled right in my very eyes as I saw the news and the picture of the engagement right.“I have always known that Mark Ronaldo is an asshole,” Noelle was speaking angrily. “How can he just move on with Ivy after everything you did for him? Gosh, he is such a blind bat,” Noelle added.“Noelle, please, I want to be alone,” I said, my voice almost coming out in a whisper, and that was because I was trying not to shed the tears that were threatening to come.“Alexa, this is not the time for you to go all mushy and heartbroken and emotional,” Noelle said motivationally. “I am certain that they wanted you to feel this way, which was why the announced the damn engagement yesterday evening, a day before your big day. You must never allow that to happen. I only showed this to you because you insisted that Mark could bring Ivy along, and knowing that cunning stepsister of yours, I knew that it would eventually come out, and I did not want you to be taken unprepared,” Noel

ALEXAThe day for my fashion brand launch party was finally here!I could hardly stay still as Eva did the final fittings on the most beautiful dress I had ever seen, and even better, I was wearing it. Indeed, I argued with Noelle about being the best dressed female even though it was my own show, but now, I could see that she was right.Noelle was always right about everything.Goodness, with how beautiful I looked just staring at the mirror, and Eva wasn’t even done yet, I wanted to hug and kiss Noelle for being my stone of support, and for not letting my own thoughts get the better part of me.“Please, try and stay still,” Eva said gently and professionally. One thing I noticed about her was how much she had been in her best effort to impress me, and I wondered if it was naturally her work ethic, or she was just doing this because of my perceived new status.“How did Ivy take it when you told her that you couldn’t make her dress?” I had to ask. When Eva had told Noelle and I that s

IVYAs I drove down to Mark’s house, the thought of the shared invitation card lingered in my mind. How could I have been so foolish as to have left it there? Fine, I didn’t exactly leave it there, but if I wasn’t in a haste to get far away from Oscar, I would have actually taken my time with picking up the contents of my bag that had fallen.“How could you let this happen?” I berated myself. In the box Alexa sent to people she wanted to attend her launch party, she included an extra invitation, because she knew that the men might want to either come with their wives or mistresses. “Why the heck did she even invite Mark?” I asked myself angrily.Alexa was nothing but an opportunist. She had always been a sneaky girl, and the only person who knew her exactly for who she was were myself and my mum. First of all, she swindled her way into Mark’s life, knowing that we were engaged to be married. After I was able to get her to leave Mark, she goes ahead with a bloody launch party.“Men’s

I took a glance at my mother and she had the look of shock and anger in her facial expression. “I am so sorry, Ivy,” Eva said over the phone.“Damn it, Eva!” I barked at her. “First of all, who the heck is Alexa for you to choose her over me? I have been using your services for years now and you do know who my man, right?” I queried her.“In business, Miss Eva, it is not just about who has been patronizing for long or the kind of man you are with at the moment. Business is competition and profit, Ivy,” Eva said, sounding like a fucking greedy bitch. If she was standing right in front of me, I would have slapped her right across the face for talking to me in such a manner after everything, and worse, for my sworn enemy, Alexa. Well, maybe she knew that I could possibly be violent when enraged and so she had decided to give me this wretched information through the phone.“Really?” I asked, getting

ALEXAIt was two days to my launch party and as the day drew closer, my heart began to palpitate. I was a nervous wreck even though I tried to act brave and strong. What if this didn’t work? What if my ability to style men was just a tiny talent that should stay in the room and not out there in the open? What if it turned out being a horrible disaster and I became a laughingstock at the end of the day? Thankfully, Noelle was out visiting her family for lunch, awarding me enough time to actually stay alone and sit with my thoughts.Since my divorce from Mark and the beginning of this brand launch planning and everything, I hadn’t had time to myself, and I felt like I was drowning away. Noelle had been constantly present and also a huge part of my success so far, but I really needed this moment. This would be the only time I would have alone before the party, and I intended to make good use of it.After dwelling in my thoughts, worries, and anxiety, I decided to talk myself out of it a

MARK I was working in my study when I heard a subtle knock on the door. I groaned in annoyance, because I really did not like anyone to be interrupting me while I worked. This was another occasion where I missed having Alexa around. When she still lived here, she knew that I hated to be disturbed when working, even though I never mentioned it outright to her, so she often ensured that no one came close to my study. Instead, she mostly handled everything until I was done and out. It wasn’t just this part; the food, routine, coffee, which she knew just how to prepare it according to the way I liked it, and of course, picking out my outfit without being asked. Then, I usually felt like she was overplaying her part, especially for a woman whom I woke up from coma only to discover that she had become my wife.“How the hell did it happen?” I had asked when I was left with just Ivy and her mother before I was moved out of the hospital. “You should have been my wife and not her, so what hap
