Chapter 39The sun is about to hide. Even its shine is fading gradually. Just like Aemon who was losing its brightness. He was outside, standing there. The news that came to him stunned him that he couldn't move a bit from there. His mind was trying to absorb everything he found out. The happiness that is filling him suddenly stopped from flowing out of the blue. Pain and guilt strike instead. He has been content in his life ever since Lily happened. But now, would he still have her beyond what he has done to her beloved father? Fear is eating him up. What if he loses her? He was stuck between telling her the truth or hiding it forever. If he hides it, he would be a coward like her Uncle and Mom who have been hiding the truth. Now, he realized why her Uncle was trying to bury that past. That was why he told him not to find this out anymore. He was right all along. "Hey," Lily said and hugged him from behind sweetly. He couldn't even touch her in so much guilt that is eating him up.
Chapter 40It was 4 am in the morning and they were already leaving the house. She was simply wearing a brown coat that is paired with her brown pants and a white tube inside the coat. Lily was still yawning while leaning on the car. Aemon, himself, was carrying their luggages with their driver. The sun is not up yet because it's still early. There are no stars above the sky anymore. The sky was dark as if it was still night. The fog covers the windows around the house and even the car. It was cold even without the wind. It is the sign of early in the morning, the cold vibe it gives. "Done," Aemon uttered before he opened the door for her. Lily couldn't even smile as her eyes have been wanting to sleep more. She just headed straight inside and quickly leaned her head on the window and made another sleep. "Sleepyhead," Aemon commented as he saw his wife. She couldn't even open her eyes a bit. "Where are you going, sir?" Their driver asked when he began to drive. The road was silent
Chapter 41*Flashback*It's 8:00 am. The whole road was filled with different cars, stuck in the middle of heavy traffic. One of those who were stuck there was Aemon and Lily's father who was on his way back home after working overtime last night. "Hey, Dad! Why didn't you go home last night?" Her daughter asked on the phone. She has been waiting for him. That is the hobby she always does each day after going home from school. "I work overtime at work, dear. Have you eaten your breakfast? Why are you still home? Don't you have to go to school today?" He showered her with multiple questions. "Dad, it's Saturday, no school." Lily sighed as she answered back. Her father laughed over the phone when he realized that it's Saturday. He has been working so much that he forgot what day it was. "Oh, I forgot. I think I need a lot of sleep today. Anyways, have you eaten, dear?" he asked again as he yawned. "Yes, I did, Dad. Mom cooked Adobo, so you should hurry there." She said and giggled
Chapter 42“Why are you here?” Lily asked as she hugs Paul who just arrived all of a sudden. Aemon was left on the table along with the food that began to serve. He was still stuck with his chest beating aloud when he tried to tell her the truth. That was so close—really closed. He looks pale because of that. "Oh, I've changed my mind. I can't wait to go here so I become stubborn for a while," Paul replied and chuckled. "Hey, dude!" he greeted when he saw Aemon on the table. "Hey," he only said. Paul crossed his eyebrows with confusion while staring at Aemon. He was still breathing heavily and his hands were still fvcking trembling. Paul arrived on time, exactly on time. Aemon simply shook his head to him, telling him not to ask anymore. "Woah, you really ordered for me, huh?" he said when he saw all the food. "That was not for you," Aemon said. "Order yours," he added as they all sat back on the table. "Are you also new here, sir?" the lady asked after serving the last food of t
Chapter 43“I know we are not on good terms, Aemon…” Frederick said as he watched Lily enjoy the food she just bought while sitting near the ocean, enjoying the bright of the sun shining upon her. “You’re my cousin, but I don’t want to see Lily being deceived when we all know the truth.” He uttered as his jaw clenched. “Don’t make me a bad husband here, Frederick. I know what I am doing,” he said firmly with coldness from his voice as he eyed Frederick beside him. Frederick smirked annoyingly. “Aren’t you becoming one, Aemon? You know Lily was seeking for that truth and yet you’re hiding it fro–”“And do you think it’s easy for me, huh? Of course, I tried telling him, Frederick…but as you know, I can’t lose her, I fvcking can’t.” Aemon was already curling his hands tightly as his blood was boiling not in anger but in guilt. Do they think this is all easy for him? God knows how much he wanted to do the right thing and that is to tell her the truth, but it’s not easy. He’s stuck betwe
Chapter 44Rafael and Leonora arrived together. The plan of their arrivals by order didn't happen too. They were all stubborn and couldn't wait any longer to go on vacation. "Look at those girls," Paul whispered to Frederick and Rafael while they were all under the coconut trees that were giving them shelter from the bright light of the sun. "Woah," Rafael commented and whistled when the three women passed by. They looked at them, especially to Frederick who was just wearing his fierce face while giving them his dull eyes. He looks bored and uninterested for the first time to women. "Frederick, I think that blonde girl is interested in you! Have you seen her sticky eyes? D*mn, bro!" Rafael said, having fun around. Their eyes are being fed here with all the sexy bodies of women. "Oh, men." Leonora commented and took a sip to her ice tea. What should she expect of her cousins? She has been with them for a long time and they always do them around. "Is that a real tattoo?" she asked
Chapter 45They were filled with silence, staring at each other's eyes. Aemon was ignoring the guild that was knocking on his chest. He was being tempted to tell her the truth, but the fear of losing her is pulling him back. "Are you hiding something, Aemon?" Lily repeated for the second time. It was a chance for him to tell it to her, but he couldn't speak. He was indeed lost for words that he couldn't utter anything. "Aemon,""I'm not hiding anything from you, Lily." He answered with firmness and truth. That is what he made. Aemon chose not to tell her the truth when he had the chance to. Lily was still eyeing him, not moving from those eyes. She was trying to read his exquisite eyes that were always blank before, like a piece of empty paper. Until now, she couldn't read anything from those eyes. She cannot even tell if he's telling her the truth. He isn't giving her the benefit of the doubt. "Okay," Lily uttered bitterly. Their plan to have a boodle fight happened. But then, it
Chapter 46"We must make a huge step," the woman said with a playful smile playing on her lips. It was a smell of victory that was almost near their hands. "Fvck! That is what I'm telling you! We can easily ruin their marriage with that crime," the man cackled and clapped his hands like a champion. They were both on top of the world. The fact that Aemon was the one behind the death of Lily's father spice everything up in their plan. "We should scare them a little bit, to make it more fun." The woman suggested, planning everything in her head. "We have to add fuel to the fire," the man commented. "Why don't we kidnap Lily's mother? We will hide her for real until they all go crazy looking for her," the man suggested with his evil smile. They were both looking at each other with everything running in their heads. "Lily is mad at her mother," the woman uttered. The man nodded with his high-spirited smile, "She is. But she could never let her mother die," he caressed her soft cheeks
