The Test

Noella’s POV

The hospital room where we were waiting for the DNA test results was sterile and cold, the smell of antiseptic filling the air. The walls were white, and several health posters were hanging neatly. The blue plastic chairs we sat on were hard and uncomfortable. The view of the room's large windows showed a green hospital garden, but none of that could calm my frantic feelings.

Isabella, and I sat in the front row, waiting anxiously. My feelings were a mix of nervousness, disbelief, and burning hope. My hands were sweaty, and I squeezed my fingers repeatedly without realizing it, a habit that emerged whenever I felt particularly nervous.

Enrick sat beside me, looking calm, even though I knew he was also anxious. He squeezed my fingers harder, giving me the support I needed. "Calm down, Noella," he whispered, his voice confident. "We'll find the answer, and everything will be okay."
