I was so thrilled that I could hardly contain my joy as there was a smile stretched across my face. I know I was a slave but I just saved my little brother from certain harm. As I thought about what just happened, I tried to think about what could have caused the wolves to circle before I was led away from the place where my stepfather was left lying on the ground. What did the wolves do? Why did they get in a fight? If that is the case, why did they wait till we were out of sight before they started to fight anyway? They were all around us and they did not so much as make a growl when we walked past them. So what could have happened?

I watched as the man who was sitting up on the high seat climb down and open the side door of the fancy box. Several women climbed out of the back and walked around to the end and opened a large chest. What were they doing? Did they know he was going to be wet and brought clothing to change him into? W
