‘Who has the gift to talk to the sea creatures?’ The Sea king continued to ask. When I looked at the others, it seems to appear that only Trei and I were able to understand him.
‘I do.’ I responded with my mind.
‘Ah, the female. A pleasure to meet you, my lord. My name is Grukren. And in your past life, we were acquainted.’ He says.
I met Byron’s gaze and saw that he was looking at me in confusion. He has probably guessed by now that I was communicating with the leader of the sea people.
I raised a hand to Byron and gestured for him to wait. ‘Grukren, was it? Is there a way for Byron to hear your thoughts as well? If it is something that you need to tell me, then it is only right that my brother gets to hear it as well. After all, he is a demigod too.’
‘A good question. He has to intake a small droplet of my blood so he would be able to understand me. Ask him if he is willing.’
To be honest, after hearing that, I almost barfed and did not want to even tell Byron what he has to do in order to understand him.
I waved at my twin to get his attention. Once I did, I made a gesture of a bubble. Thankfully, he seems to understand as he began to gather all the air bubbles in the area and placed them over my head so I can talk. “Byron, he says that you have to take some of his blood for you to understand their language. He was asking if you are...willing?”
I saw Byron’s face scrunching up in disgust that he tried so hard to hide as not to offend the leader of the sea people.
The bubble left my head and he placed it to his instead. “Is what he’s going to tell us going to be important?”
I looked at Grukren. He nodded. ‘It is about the birth of your past life.’
I looked at Byron and gave him a nod. Byron pouted before he let out a resigned nod. “Alright.” He grumbled under his breath and bit his tongue before he could even curse.
Grukren glanced at Trei and gave him a short nod. ‘Give him the pill.’ He told him.
Trei fished something out of his pocket before swimming towards Byron. When he was in front of him, he held out a small red pearl in his hand,
‘The pill has a small dose of our blood. He has to bite and swallow it. Once it is in his system, he will be able to understand us for two hours only. But don’t worry, I don’t think that I will be keeping my lords for that long.’
Byron must have sensed that the leader told me something because he then transferred the bubble over my head so I could translate it for him. “He says that the pill will work for two hours. All you have to do is bite and swallow the pill.”
I feel like he was hoping for some good news when I saw him giving me a deadpanned look and moved his lips to the side. He took the pill from Trei’s hand and I watched him swallow it.
My face made a disgusted look when I saw his jaw moving to bite the pill. Then his adam’s apple moved as he swallowed it.
When Byron looked at me, he looked like he was going to go sick or even cry.
I don’t even want to ask him what it tastes like.
‘My Lord, can you hear me?’ I heard Grukren speaking.
Byron’s head perked up in surprise before he looked at the sea king and nodded excitedly.
‘Grukren, why can’t I hear Trei, but I can hear you?’ I asked.
‘My grandchild doesn’t have that kind of ability just yet. Since his sea blood is lesser than that of his human blood, his abilities are taking a long time to develop.’
I looked at Trei just then and saw him giving me a hopeless shrug. I gave him a small comforting smile before I looked back to Grukren.
‘What is it that you want to talk to us about?’
‘There was another extension of the prophecy aside from the demigods being reincarnated.’ He says as he moved back. ‘It is about Silisk. The sea serpent you raised in your previous life. The extension of the prophecy states tells of his awakening. We, the sea folks, were the ones who assisted Meruem’s son to imprison the serpent on a faraway secluded island. But because of how limited our powers are, we used Lord Meruem’s scepter to enhance his son’s ability. We were successful and were able to put Silisk to sleep and trap him within a storm.’
‘Trapped in a storm? Well, isn’t that great? Even if he awakens he-’
‘It is not that simple, young demigod. As soon as he wakes up, he will be momentarily weak. But once he regains his full strength, he will break out of it.”
Byron and I exchanged glances then. One thing we know about the prophecy is that we are already living in one. And we know that it is not a simple matter that we can just ignore.
I looked back at Grukren. ‘How much time do we have?’
I saw how Grukren glances at Trei. His grandson gave him a solemn nod. Grukren’s gaze faltered as he addressed us. ‘Not much time I believe. Last I heard from my son, one of our spies has been exposed and captured. They did something with his...mind to gain intel of what we know.’
‘Hold on!’ Now I was getting nervous as well. ‘When you say intel, please don’t tell me that it’s about the sea serpent?’
‘No, my lords. It is not.’
Brandon and I sighed in relief.
‘But he was able to obtain more valuable information. You see, the story doesn’t end there. As soon as we trapped the serpent, the triton broke into three parts and scattered in three different locations. Most of the humans have experienced chilling sensations when crossing it. And you can easily see where they all were.’
‘The Bermuda Triangle.’
‘Correct.’
‘But I thought that the phenomenon is because it is the commonplace where the Atlanteans kidnap people?’ I thought about the plane that I rode when and how my abduction happened just above the Bermuda Triangle.
‘Weird phenomenons have been happening in that place long before the Atlanteans started to make their move. They were simply using it as a cover-up to divert people’s attention.’ Grukren says and lets out a sigh.
‘You said ‘where they all were’. What does that mean? You used a past tense.’
‘You’re pretty sharp for your age.’ Grukren says. ‘And you are right. Through the years, the parts have started to scatter and moved to different locations because of the abnormality in that area. But a few years ago, my people have found the exact location of where they were. Or just suspicions because we never really saw it for ourselves because of the hazardous environment. But the aura that we felt is there. For people like us, we can hear it sing when it is nearby.’
Byron swam close to me and held my hand. We both already know where this is going. And it won’t be good.
‘The information that Ylgarr has. It’s about the locations, isn’t it?’
There was a long pause, but seeing as how Gruken’s face fell down only confirms our suspicions. “Yes, it is.”
“...and after that, the sea serpent named Silisk was finally reunited with his beloved master. Lord Meruem.” I glanced down at the two children before me as I finished the story. Two girls. One had platinum blonde hair, and the other one had a pure white one. Though they look like sisters, twins even, they’re not. They’re just cousins. The girl with the platinum blonde hair is named Alice. She’s five years old. Her eyes were a pretty shade of blue, just like her mother. Her dress, which was obviously a product from the surface, is teal in color. She never pays any attention to my story, not unless it involves animals. She kind of reminds me of my brother, in a way, who is still obsessed with sea creatures up to this date. The white-haired little girl is named Olive. She’s also five. Her eyes are of the same shade of yellow as her father's. She has wrink
“Holy shit. That thing is so nasty up close.” I could hear Trei’s commentary somewhere in the distance, but I could not look for him because I could not get distracted as I held Silisk in place.‘Master, we’ll help.’ Dodo, one of the Megalodons, came out of the water and tackled Silisk away. But before they could disappear into the water, Iocules came to assist. His long tentacles wrapped around the serpent’s mouth, and he forced it close. Because Silisk was too big for the Megalodon, the other sea creatures assisted, including the guardians from Urei’s domain.A Kraken, three megalodons, and the five sea monsters weren’t enough to keep the serpent in the water. It wasn’t until Fifi arrived and placed her weight along with the others that they were able to keep the snake in check.
Riding on Nalu’s back while he runs on the water’s surface was way worse than when he’s running underwater. There was no buoyancy force that fights and cancels his speed, and let me tell you, Nalu is called a water horse for a reason. Byron and I had to keep on our helmets because of the wind resistance at Nalu’s speed. If Nalu had not wrapped his watery mane on us around us as seatbelts, we might have been thrown to the water a few minutes earlier.“Nathalia, where is he taking us?” My brother asked behind me, which I heard from the radio in our helmets.“Puerto Rico. Apparently, that’s Silisk’s next target.” I said and glanced down on the octopus curled on my arm as I grabbed onto Nalu’s mane tightly.
Our group separated for the plan. Knowing that Ylgarr is dead, Atlantis no longer has a leader to command them. And, with the release with the serpent, Skyr was certain that the people must be in a state of panic. Also, with Rachel’s situation, she needs immediate help, which she can find in Atlantis.Trei plans to head for the rebel facility to talk to his great-something grandfather and send help to assist us in the battle. If there’s one thing that we know that Silisk would do, it's that he wants to floor the lands. But the question is, where?“You guys take Fifi,” Byron instructed Skyr before petting his prehistoric dinosaur buddy when she let out a whine in protest. “Sorry, Fifi. I need you to protect Rachel while delivering them safely back to Atlantis. Can you do that for me?” Byron got his response when Fifi stopped w
Silisk was gone. He managed to escape the storm by devouring the blood of Iocules(Max) that lingered in the water so he could pass the storm. We didn’t go after him. Instead, Skyr, Fifi, and I looked for Byron and Rachel. We weren’t the ones who found them. It was Trei who contacted us and informed us that Nalu was able to them. He says that they’re floating on what’s left of Silisk’s dead skin in the water. It wasn’t long because I used my connection to track down Nalu and immediately found the others. They were all standing on the massive snakeskin chunk on the water that served as a mini-island.I did not wait for Fifi to stop as I rushed towards them. When I landed on the skin, I felt relieved when I saw Byron and Rachel, but not in a good way. Byron was holding onto Rachel tightly as Emily tried to stop the bleeding from
I held onto Byron’s arms as the island began to shake violently and Silisk slowly awakened. What seemed like a massive rock behind the crazed form of Ylgarr suddenly began to shake. It wasn’t until slits formed and opened that I realized that those were Silisk’s eyes that cracked open. The slits of his pupils focused on us before raising his head. His body, which we were standing on, began to move and lifted us up and away from Ylgarr. Watching Silisk shedding away his scales was terrifying. I felt like I was watching my nightmare come true right before my eyes.He was massive that we were just as tall as his slitted pupils. We had to look up just to watch him emerge and pull his face off of his shedding that seemed to stick together due to time.“He lives. He LIVES! I DID IT!” I
