Davyna's POV
20 years....Supernatural creatures are real. They came out of hiding a couple years ago, stating they were tired of being in the shadows. Small treaties and laws were put in place to accommodate them, and more would be implemented as theycontinued to negotiate terms around their presence in human societyMy parents weren't too keen on it. but unfortunately that is the world are as aware of them as they are of scared of us.Everything seems peaceful, but my mother always stated that it's just a matter of time before something happens. After all, these creatures have abilities that we as humans don't possess and they could easily overtake us if they wanted. We have to be prepared for anything. That's why my parents decided move out of the city, and away fromthose now populated with the supernatural. I didn't pay much attention to why we moved, nor really cared, because l'm fine being secluded. My mom homeschooled me well before they madeDayyna's PoVI stand there frozen, just staring. His voice chills me to the bone and I shiver once more. I'm sure l look like a deer caught in headlights with how wide my eyes probably are My mom's voice snaps me out of it. "What do you want vampire? Why are you on my property?" I see her tense from my place behind her. I don't blame her reaction. This vampire just shows up unannounced at night. Doesn't scream "Hi, I'm friendly. Let's have a cup of tea?" at all.I watch as the vampire shifts his weight and continues to look past my mother and directly at me. Completely ignoring that she just spoke to him it seems. I glance around nervously, avoiding his gaze and to try and hide my fear that l can feel creeping up. I try to breathe normally and go to exhale, but a nervous squeak escapes my lips. I mentally face palm. Damn. So much for that."Are you nervous, special one?" My head snaps back to his direction, and before I have a chance to reply, my mother clears h

Davyna's POV(3 years later)BEEP..BEEP..BEEPBEEP...BEEP...BEEPBEEP....I open my eyes to my alarm beeping loudly, signaling it's 6 AM and time to get up. I roll over and turn it off and sit up in my bed. Yawning, I stretch and then pull off the covers and get out of bed. I go over to my dresser and pull out my workout gear and set it on my bed.Walking into my bathroom, I look at myself in the mirror. Not much has changed in the past 3 years since Mom was murdered, well aside from my mental state and my bodily physique. I vowed l'd never be weak and avenge my mother's death, so I've been following a steady workout routine since l initially felt I could handle it. The result? I'm stronger. Not as strong as l'd like to be, but l'm working on it. Also aside from my Dad, I don't talk to many people unless I have to. Less of an emotional attachment, the better. Blame it on my relentless anger towards all supernatural beings, and my obsession on vengeance for my
Anotheer's POVI should have killed that girl along with her mother, but I just couldn't. When I think back to that night. I remember her scent. It was something not of this world. I had my suspicions before I had tore my hand from her mother's chest and dropped her still heart. It was quick, but there was a flash of what she truly was. I feel some concern knowing that I left her - Davyna - alive, but she could be of so much use to me for what I am planning. I'm interrupted of my inner musings by a servant of mine. "My Lord." He bows and waits for me to allow him to continue. I wave my hand and he stands. "The girl has been reported to have just arrived at the council's compound with her father.""Good. Tell the scouts I'll want eyes on her as much as possible. I need to be kept updated on her condition and life while she's there.""Yes, my lord. Right away." He turns and leaves. I go back into thought. If Davyna is what I think she is, the council is goin
Davyna's POVWhew. That was a lot. I think I only really took in the first half hour of that tour and tuned out after.. but at least I know where the compound gym is at least. I'm back in my suite now, having said goodbye to Dad as he had to get caught up with the council and current affairs. After plugging my phone in to charge a bit, I sit down and take a look at that list of jobs Kraven dropped off earlier this morning. I go down the list for the compound, lightly skimming the job titles."Kitchen Assistant, Yard Maintenance, Assistant Maid... does no one like to do physical labour around here?" I sigh and move on to the list for the city. Something catches my eye. "Entertainment Supervisor for the local nightclub? That's more like it." I highlight it and decide to ask Kraven about it later.I take a look at my phone, 7:30pm."I guess I should get a workout in." I get up and grab my workout gear and get changed. I pack a towel and grab my water bottle and
Davyna's POVThe Next Day...I wake up to my phone ringing. Still half asleep, I reach over and answer sister from her abusive father,"Hello?" My voice cracks. Lovely. Alpha Kane"Davyna? It's Kraven. I got your number from your Dad as I was unable to make it in person this morning" I clear my throat. "That's alright, Kraven. What do you need to tell me?""That's not really necessary Kraven, but I appreciate it.Thank you""Not a problem, Davyna. Transport has been aranged for you today atlpm, Marcella will meet you out front of the compound." Il yawn loudly."Sorry, Kraven. I'll be there. Thanks again.""My pleasure, Davyna. Talk to you later." Click. I check the time on my phone and my eyes go wide. Only an hour until have to be out front."Shit I gotta get ready." I pretty much throw myself into the shower, wash quickly, rush out and throw on some fitted sweats, sneakers, and a tank top. I dry my hair and braid it so it's out of my fa
Vincent's POV"What are you talking about Caleb?" I look at my good werewolf friend sitting on my bed in my suite with his head in his hands as he's trying to explain to me that he saw his mate, but wasn't 100% sure it was her."Why didn't you approach her? f you had eye contact, she would havefelt the same thing you did and wouldn't have walked away so easily" I take a sip of my blood. Caleb then stands up, towering Over me as usual. Damn werewolf Alpha genes. I'm tall myself for a vampire but Caleb always looks massive and menacing when he is standing at full height."It was so strange Vincent. I wasn't sure what to do."I swirl m blood in the glass and sigh. "Well no point in woryinsmuch about it currently. If you saw her at the gym, then she's staying at the compound. You're bound to run into her again eventually and can find out for sure then." I smack him on the back. "You're heading to Bloodhaven tonight right?" He nods. "Great, shall we go toge
Caleb's POV"t's her." I manage to say quietly, unsure if Vincent even heard me. As I get a good look at her as she walks behind Marcella, I'm even more sure.My wolf Kaius howls in my head. She has a small frame, but I notice now that she's definitely more athletic and fit then than I thought. No wonder her reps at the gym were like that. She has long jet black hair that falls past her hips, slightly curly. It's braided mostly away from her angelic face. Minimal makeup, but I don't care about that. I'm stunned on her outfit she's wearing but that's definitely Marcella's doing. I notice she looks slightly nervous but is trying hard not to show it. Why would she be nervous here?"Caleb?" Vincent looks at me, breaking my inner monologue. "Did you say something?" I put my hand up, "We can chat later, no biggie." My breath catches as she and Marcella come up to our table. They didn't lie when they say your mate can literally bring you to your knees. I'm already
