Madison’s POV

We walked to the car and he opened the door for me. “What’s all this gentle man act for?” I asked and he laughed. “I am being like a good husband. Don't you like it like that?” he asked.

“It’s just for a certain reason.” I said to him with a frown. “I am not going to talk about that right now.” he ignored my statement and drove out of the driveway.

I didn't want to look at him so I stared outside of that window and rested my head on the chair. “The place seems so far.” I said.

“It’s not far. You are just thinking a lot right now. You are the one that said that you could do it today so don't back off now. We already got there.” he said and we drove into the parking lot of the hospital.

We got down from the car and walked into the reception. “Hi. I made an appointment with Dr Sarah.” he said and the lady smiled and nodded.

“I know about that. Please give me a second to inform her.” she took the telephone and made a call.

“You can go in now.” she said and I rubbed my hands

What is wrong with you!” Andy shouted once again while pacing in the living room. “Like I said already for the tenth time. I am fine. I am okay so stop creating a scene and exaggerating. I told him again and he sighed. “What do you mean by you are fine? You don't look fine to me at all. You are just telling yourself that so that you can convince yourself. Oh God.” he held his face in his hand. “Andy just seat down already. You are making my eyes spin by walking around.” “You need to go back to the hospital. Who leaves the hospital the day she had a miscarriage. That's not normal at all. Why did he even let you leave the hospital.” “That’s because I wanted to. I didn't want to be in a place that would constantly remind me of my loss by the sad looks of the nurses and doctors.” I gritted my teeth and said. “Mrs Sophie ,please can you get her a glass of water?” he shouted. “Of

Madison’s POVWe finished eating already and we were back to the living room. “Has his ex girlfriend said anything to you yet?” he asked suddenly.“No Andy and I wish she stays like that. At this rate, if she pisses me off you will be picking me up form the police station.” I said and he laughed.“Well then, make sure you beat her ass well so that at least you won’t regret it.” He said.“You are meant to discourage me.” I laughed.“I just wanted to see you smile and I have, so I am satisfied right now.” He said and my phone rang. I checked the caller and it was Rose.“Hey Rose. Did anything go wrong in the office. What’s wrong?” I asked her but she started crying hysterically.“What’s wrong?” I asked her but she didn’t answer but kept on crying.“Why is she crying?” Andy add with his voice full of worry. He took the phone from me and placed it on his ear. “What’s wrong? Did that bastard Leonard do anything to you?” he asked her and she shouted suddenly. He moved the phone away from hi

Madison’s POV“I never knew that I would be called out of the office by a police officer to bail your best friend, Madison.” Tyler said to me as we all walked out of the police station. After Rose slapped Brenda, she called the police and accused Rose of physical assault. They arrested her immediately without waiting for us to explain the situation of things. It was so chaotic and we all ended up in the police station.“Sorry for the disturbance. She was just trying to protect me from your…” I said then stopped there.“From who?” He asked and stopped walking. All I did was tell him to bail her out. I didn’t say what she did or who the other party was. Surprisingly, he didn’t ask about anything and just did as I told him.“It was Brenda.” I said finally and he groaned.“Why didn’t you tell me that sooner? What was she doing at the house and what did she do?” He asked and I scoffed.“What we’re you going to do if I told you earlier that it was Brenda? You may have not even bailed Rose o

Madison’s POVI felt so grateful to have someone like Rose by my side all the time. “Thanks for saying that. It means a lot to me.” I cried out and she smiled.“Of course. I am stuck with you now , better don’t even think of pushing me away.” She said and I hugged her.“I will love to stay longer but I have to leave now. Tyler should be coming back home now.” She said and rose up from the seat.“That’s fine. We will talk tomorrow.”“Don’t be in a haste to come to the office. Think about yourself first before anything else.” She said before leaving the house. After she left I was bored of watching the television. I looked at the time and it was already getting late. It was 7:30pm already.“I might as well try cooking the recipes that I can remember. I feel so bored in this house. I should get back work soon.” I said to myself while ignoring Rose words.I walked to the kitchen and opened the cupboard to see if I could find anything to cook. Luckily, I saw some cheese so I decided to ma

Madison’s POVI felt the sun peeking into room as it hit my face. I turned around in my bed and felt an arm wrapped around me. “You are so heavy.” My pillow spoke and I smiled.“I didn’t know that my pillow could talk. I am mesmerized right now.” I muttered in my sleep and then felt the pillow vibrating.“We are having an earthquake. The pillow is vibrating!” I shouted and sat up from the bed. I looked beside me and saw a shirtless Tyler laughing his ass out.He finally stopped then sniffed. “What do you mean by there is an earthquake?” He asked and laughed again.“It’s not funny and what are you doing in my room? What happened last night?” I asked him and stared at his shirtless boy in shock.I quickly lifted the duvet and checked my body. I was still fully clothed. He had a smirk on his face when I looked at him again.“What do you think happened? Nothing happened at all.” He said and I sighed in relief.“Why are you relieved? Madison’s POVI put on a crop top, denim jacket and a trouser. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. “At least I shouldn't look like the way I feel right now.” I said to myself and smiled sadly when I didn't feel the familiar bump on my stomach anymore.I walked out of the room and went downstairs. The food was already set on the table but it seems like Tyler was waiting for me before he could eat.“You should have just eaten. Why did you wait for me?” I laughed and took my seat opposite me.“I just felt like waiting for you. You shouldn't complain about that.”“Mrs Sophie is taking a day off today.” he said and I smiled. “That’s good for her too. She needs it very well. She has been working really hard up till now.” I said to him and he nodded.“Why are you telling me though?” I asked and he raised an eyebrow.“You both are kind of close so I had to inform you before she leaves. Also, don't burn the kitchen down now that she isn't here.” he said and I pouted.“I actually know

Madison’s POVTyler was about to leave when Andy bursted into the house while breathing heavily. “What are you doing here? Don’t you have to go to the office?” I asked him looking shocked.“You can’t skip work because I am married to your sister Andy.” Tyler said with an unimpressed tone.“That’s not it.” Andy replied and then looked at me with a worried look.“Don’t go online today. Just stay off your phone for today.” He said as if he was warning me and I frowned.“What’s the problem?” I asked him and picked up my phone from the couch immediately. I was so curious to know what was online that I couldn’t see no matter what.“Just do as I say for once please!” Andy shouted but it was already too late as I saw the trending news.“Tyler and Madison lost their baby’s. I was determined to talk to Leonard today. My phone rang and I picked it without checking who the caller was. “I didn’t think that you would pick it.” Leonard said with an amused voice.“I wouldn’t have done it if I thought that it was you. Let’s meet.” I told him straightforwardly.“I am sorry but I can’t do that. I am busy preparing for another Board Meeting.” He said and I stopped walking. I was heading to the house door.“What are you saying? Which board meeting again?” I asked him and he laughed.“You weren’t to

I knew how important this event was, and my heart was racing with happiness as I waited for my bride. As I walked around in a classy and charming black suit, I couldn’t help but notice the little things that made my outfit special. The suit fit my body perfectly and hugged me in all the right places. It had a light sheen that made the outfit look a little more glamorous. The suit’s black color was classic and timeless, which matched both my great taste and the seriousness of the event. A thin satin trim around the lapels added a modest but elegant touch that made the whole look better.A crisp white dress shirt t

I could feel Tyler’s steady presence beside me, providing a reassuring anchor amid the storm of feelings brewing inside me.The moment we stepped into the meeting, all eyes turned towards us. The muted hum of talks stopped, replaced by the palpable tension that gripped the room. I kept a composed exterior, channeling the confidence Tyler had instilled in me throughout this ordeal.Leonard Byers, sitting at the head of the table, looked up from his papers, his expression shifting from indifference to shock as he registered my presence. The board members, accustomed to his authoritative demeanor, reflected his astonishment. Tyler and I moved confidently to an open space, ready to face the truth.“Miss Johnson,” Leonard stammered, trying to regain h

Madison’s POV“What’s going on in here?” my mom asked, my eyes narrowing as I took in the emotional environment.I quickly wiped away my tears, trying to calm myself. “Mom, we’re just talking,” I said.Tyler nodded in agreement, his eyes never leaving mine. “We’re having a heart-to-heart. I wanted to be honest with Madison about everything.”My mom’s eyes narrowed further, her worry escalating into frustration. “Honest conversation? Tyler, after everything that happened in the past, you think you can just waltz back into my daughter’s life and have a ‘heart-to-heart’? What gives you that right?”Tyler sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. “Mrs. Anderson, I know I messed up in the past. I hurt Madison, and I take full blame for that. But people can change, and I want to make amends. I love your daughter, and I want to be there for her.”My mom crossed her arms, her anger obvious. “Change? Love? Tyler’s POVI reassured myself, “Headaches are not unusual after a head injury. We’ll monitor her closely and adjust the treatment as required. The goal is to make her as comfortable as possible during the healing process.”Once Madison’s pain medication was administered, she started to relax, with the sharp pain gradually subsiding. Doctor Bennet turned to Madison’s mother with a serious look.“Mrs. Byers, I would like to discuss some important issues with you. Can you please join me in my office? We can talk more freely there,” Doctor Bennet offered.Madison’s mother looked concerned but nodded. “Of course, doctor. I’ll be right there. Madison, I’ll be back soon. Try to get some rest, sweetheart,” she said, gently kissing her daughter’s face.As Mrs. Byers stepped out of the room with Doctor Bennet, I looked at them with interest. • Thorns of the Heart   Chapter 194

Madison’s POVI lay on the narrow hospital bed, my eyes half-closed, trying to make sense of the fuzzy shapes around me. The sterile scent of the hospital room filled my nose, and the rhythmic beeping of machines provided a disconcerting soundtrack to my hazy thoughts. The pain on my side felt like a sharp jab, a constant reminder of something I couldn't quite grasp.I heard my mom's voice in the distance, a comforting murmur that reassured me, "You'll be fine, Madison. The doctors are taking care of you." It was a distant echo, like a lifeline connecting me to the world outside my foggy cocoon. I tried to focus on the words, to find solace in them, but the pain and dizziness were relentless.A nurse came in, her friendly face obscured by a mask, and checked the machines that surrounded me. "How are you feeling, sweetie?" the nurse asked, her voice a gentle melody. I managed a weak smile, attempting to convey that I was okay even though I wasn't entirely sure. The nurse adjusted some

Tyler’s POV"But what of her mum? How will I convince her I mean her daughter no harm?" I asked, my worry etched across my face. Dr. Bennett leaned back in his chair, considering the question. "Building trust with Madison's mother will also take time. It's crucial to be patient and show through your actions that your intentions are sincere. Avoid confrontations, be respectful, and give her the space she might need to process everything."I sighed, a mix of frustration and understanding. "I just don't want to be seen as the bad guy here. I genuinely care about Maddison, and I want her to have all the support she needs."Dr. Bennett nodded in agreement. "It's evident, Tyler. Just be yourself and focus on being a positive presence. Actions often speak louder than words, and with time, her mother may come to see your genuine concern for Maddison's well-being."Feeling a bit more assured, I nodded. "Thanks, Dr. Bennett. Your advice means a lot. I'll do my best to be patient and understandi

I raised my hand, and with a tentative knock, I announced my presence.“Come in,” a voice called from within the room.I pushed the door open and entered, finding a comfortable-looking office with a desk cluttered with papers. Dr. Bennett, with his graying hair, looked up from his work, offering me a reassuring smile.“Tyler, finally you are here. Please, have a seat,” he gestured towards the chair across from his desk.I hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of nervousness and relief as he took the offered seat. The chair creaked slightly under his weight as he settled in, glancing around the room at the diplomas and medical charts adorning the walls.“Thanks, Dr. Bennett,” I mumbled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “Sorry I’m late.
