Bates scowled at the woman that settled in the chair in front of him. She sat before him with a smuggish grin, cat like eyes taking his furious form that shook in his seat. He was angry. He wanted nothing more than to reach over and strangle her until the life left her body.

But he couldn't.

He knew he couldn't. It was a fact that only angered him even more.

She rolled her eyes with a huff, "You could at least try and act like you're happy that I'm helping."

"I didn't ask for your help. Nobody asked for your help." Bates sneered out, "Having you meddle in my business wouldn't make me happy. You know that. The fact that you're trying to act as if you're doing me a favor is only making it worse."

"Yeah, yeah." Janet waved off his seething glare. Plucking an oatmeal flavored cookie from the plate, she dunked the treat into the awaiting hot tea. She let it soak for a few seconds, ignoring the low growls and threats that were coming from the steaming male. It took only a few more moments b
