THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK OF THEIR HUMAN, THERE HAS BEEN A TIMESKIP.

"Grrrr..."

I stared at the bloodied beast in front of me, its canines glistening under the moonlight as it stared at me with a hungry expression. His eyes were a dull golden tone, resembling a bar of gold I had worked with a few months ago, when I still lived on earth.

His black fur had patches of his dried blood on it, some sticking his shiny coat together and making his fur lumpy. The lycan gave me a loud bark, and he sprinted towards me.

I scoffed. He needed to be much faster than that.

I lifted my hand up in the air, a spiral of magic shooting out of my hand and zooming right in front of him. It circled his body, and he froze in place. Struggling to move, he hissed at me angrily, extending his claws to slash them at me. I closed my palm, making it nearly impossible for him to breathe.

He wheezed and thrashed under my strong hold, but I did not let my pity for him make me any weaker. I had learned quite a few times

"I would actually kill for a hot bath." Those were the words I mumbled as I pushed into my bedroom, feeling tired beyond measure. I looked around my bedroom, frowning when I found the lights off with no one inside. I walked towards my bathroom, pausing when I heard the sound of whimpering on the other side of the door."M-my king... Ah- not too deep, please..." A woman begged softly, sounds of moaning coming from her mouth.I rolled my eyes at the lewd sounds. I hated these human girls with a passion. It angers me that I used to be one of them.I untied my ponytail and ruffled out my weak curls, throwing the hairtie on top of the dressing table. "Honey! Can you finish up in there so I can take a shower." I called out to Alexander. There was a slight pause before his muffled voice spoke. "Just a moment, my love. Would you stay still." He growled at the woman in there with him.I took off my bead necklace and bracelets, putting them carefully inside the drawer that stored my jewelry.

"My word, who would even dare to commit something so vile?" I stared down in shock, having no words to describe the scene in front of me. Daffodil had asked a question, but I could not respond to her. She placed her hand over her heart, looking down in equal shock. On a patch of grass, a creature I recognized to be a pixie laid dead, his body in an abnormal position that could only suggest that his bones were all broken. His lifeless eyes had turned grey, a sign that he was suffocated. "I just found him here... He's been missing since morning." The young pixie said, tears rolling down his eyes. I looked away from the dead body, staring at Alexander. His eyes were glowing in rage at what he was seeing. He was just as upset about this as I was, possibly even more. Someone had killed a very young pixie. "Who did this?" Sei asked in a whisper, Daffodil joining their hands together. I huffed and turned my attention to the pixie, falling my knees next to the dead body. I had to admit

  • Their Human    Chapter sixty three: reassembling

I slowly walked into my bedroom, feeling tired and ready to sleep. I felt bad for leaving Daffodil a while ago, but I couldn't bear to listen to her talking about mating with Sei. I gulped, feeling bile rising in my throat. It didn't sound right to me. It didn't feel right.Sitting down on my bed and pulling my heels off, I placed them neatly on the floor. I slipped my dress off and untied my hair, ruffling it. I sighed in relief as I felt my scalp relax, and I walked to my king-sized bed. After I got comfortable inside, Alexander walked into the bedroom.I could see his red eyes glowing in the dark as he looked towards me. I closed my eyes and listened while he took his clothes off and climbed inside the bed. His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him. "I'm sorry we couldn't have dinner." He apologized, kissing my cheek. I smiled and snuggled deeper into him."It's not your fault. The pixie needed us." I told him, feeling myself dozing off. Still, I couldn't help but

When I finally finished the legs of the pixie, the doors to my training room slid open. I ignored the sound of multiple feet entering the room as I focused my magic on his hand, trying to rejoin his wrist to the rest of the arm."So this is why I was kept waiting." Valedria said, his footsteps moving closer. I could tell they were expensive by the sound on the tiled floors."I tried to tell her, but you know how she is once she makes a decision." Kaiser said with a sigh. "She was looking forward to helping this young pixie all morning.""What happened to him?""Murdered, all large bones of his body mangled and he was strangled."Valedria was silent for a moment, allowing me to have full concentration on my task. I was feeling tired, but those were the side effects of excessive healing. Awakening him will take a much larger toll on me, but it will all be worth it."So this serial killer is here in the North too." My spell immediately faded off when my brain processed what Valedria jus

Sei and I slowly walked outside of the castle. I was starting to feel better, but there was still a dull ache in my heart. I gently rubbed my arms when a cold gust of wind blew past me, making goosebumps form on my skin. Sei had his eyes on the floor. That was the only thing that hadn't changed about him. He still wasn't the most social person."Do you think things would be different between us if he was still here?" I asked softly. It was no secret that Sei and I avoided each other beyond measure. That was difficult since he and I lived under the same roof. He was in charge of the guards, and he sometimes took the position as Alexander's advisor. He would forever be a part of my life.I can't help but think about how it would be with Silas. Would Sei be as close to Alexander? Would he have accepted Daffodil as his mate so quickly?"I don't think so," he answered honestly. "But then again, things have changed, so maybe he would have as well.""I don't think he would have changed." I m

"Oh, sweetheart, don't cry. Arguments happen all the time in relationships. I promise it will be okay."I sniffled into a handkerchief as I felt cold hands gently running over my arms. I was currently laying on my mother-in-law's lap, seeking comfort from her because of the heated argument her son and I just had. We have argued many times during the course of our relationship, but it was never this bad.Sapphire gently brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear, peeking to see if I was okay. "Can you tell me what it was about? Maybe I can talk to him."I contemplated telling her. How could I tell her that I wanted to wake my ex up from the dead? "I learned that I can do the reassembling spell," I started. She clapped her hands in happiness and waiting for me to continue. "Then I realized that there is a chance that I could wake Silas up too.""I see," she mumbled, "Alexander is afraid that he'll take you from him.""No, he's afraid that Silas will try to take the throne for himself."

"Good for you." I only said to her, downing the rest of my wine. Daffodil couldn't see my annoyance, so she sat down across me and clapped her hands excitedly. "Finally, I'll have a mark just like the other females! I won't feel left out anymore!"I nodded, staring at the empty glass I was holding. I wasn't marked either, but it didn't have any negative toll on Alexander and I. I guess it's because we're really strong compared to other creatures."It was really weird," she spoke again. "He came back so upset, and he just blurted it out. I wonder what happened before he arrived." She mumbled.Akielia happened.I suppose Alexander was right. Sei was only waiting for me. Now that I've told him I'm happy that he's with Daffodil, he's going to claim her. "I'm super excited for you." I said blankly to her blabbering. I felt like an awful person for not being happy for her. "I guess you don't need me to help you anymore.""Oh, no! We're definitely still doing that. I need a nice set of linge

  • Their Human    Chapter sixty eight: conflict

Alexander licked his lips and turned to look at me, his face unreadable. I wondered why he was feeding again, but I knew that was the last thing I should be speaking about with him. Our relationship was more important, and we had to sort this argument out. "Can we fix things, please?" I asked him, watching as he walked over to the bed and sat on it. He nodded and faced me, waiting for me to give him an apology, most likely. I opened my mouth, no words coming out of my mouth. What exactly would I be apologizing for? For missing Silas? For wanting to stick to my decision and wake him up? For acting like the queen I am by not submitting to him? "I'm sorry for using my powers on you." I said to him. That was my flaw. I shouldn't have lost my temper. I was supposed to be able to control my powers, especially since they could spiral out of control. I could have endangered him, myself, and everyone inside the castle with me. He looked confused, "Is that the only mistake you're acknowled

"What exactly happened that's making you panic so much?" Alexander asked, pulling the door of the carriage open with a small yawn."I think your mother tried to speak to me through mind link. I don't know how but I heard many voices screaming for help. I think something has happened back home." I explained, tying my hair back. I looked into the distance, the pale moon just barely lighting over the land.As soon as Sei had asked me what was wrong, I rushed up and packed everything. Silas woke Alexander up, and he was not pleased to be interupted from whatever he was doing in his room."What if you were dreaming?" Alexander grumbled. I glared at him as I shoved my bag inside. "What's with you? Clearly you don't want to leave."Silas smirked, "He's sad that I walked in on him pounding into his little human."I shuddered when the image formed in my head. I did not need to know that.Alexander frowned but didn't say anything, keeping his eyes on the ground. I pursed my lips and suddenly re

Sei took a deep breath and held Elder Norabi's hand. I bit my lower lip in anticipation. This would be the moment of truth. Sei was going to walk out of these packlands holding someones hand. Was it mine, or Daffodils?I looked at Daffodil, seeing her as nervous as I was. Her leg bounced up and down continuously. Sei looked at her and she gave him a smile that was meant to be reassuring. It wasn't, she just seemed even more worried.I would also be scared if I were her. Without Sei, she had no reason to live in the palace. She only lived with us because he was her boyfriend. She would have to find her own place to live. She would be by herself."Sei, may I look through your memories."Sei nodded, "Yes."Elder Norabi closed her eyes for a few minutes, humming in understanding. "You've been through a lot with your brother. It is no surprise you're so confused with everything.""It's been a journey." Sei said with a nod. "Even looking back at my own memories, I still can't believe it.""

It turns out that we did not need to wait long.Alpha Nazari's mother arrived sooner than we expected, way before dinnertime for the rest of the pack. That was great news for me because I didn't want to overstay my welcome."Goodness, I had heard that our queen was beautiful but this is far beyond my expectations." The old lady said, smiling widely. I thanked her for the compliment with a grin, and held her hand in respect. I nearly stumbled back from the amount of power I felt from her. She was very old, even needing a walking stick to help her, but she had the strength of an alpha. "Thank you so much for getting here so soon. I'm sorry if we caused you any inconvenience." I said softly. She waved my words off, "Nonsense! I'm glad that you came by. My name is Norabi, but everyone calls me Elder. I was the packs luna before my son and his wife." "It's lovely to meet you." I said honestly, "I'm sure you already know me and Alexander. This is Sei." I said, turning to show her Sei, wh

  • Their Human    Chapter eighty five: clarification

Morning soon arrived, and the strange horses made their way back to us. We got up, ate some sandwiches that had been packed for us and freshened up by a nearby stream. When all was packed and ready, our journey to the packlands continued.Another day later, we finally arrived to the Alphas territory. To say it was beautiful was an understatement. It was nearly as perfect as my very own palace. The land was flat and clear of trees, except for the surrounding packlands. Many cute cabins surrounded the area and in the middle of the massive piece of land, stood a mansion I would have never been able to afford back on earth. Our carriage pulled up in front of this mansion, and a tall man walked out from the long double doors to greet us. He wore a fitted grey suit, and his dark hair was pushed back. I could feel power radiating from him, and by how Sei looked at him with hatred, I knew exactly who this was."Alpha Nazari, it is good to see you." I greeted, shaking his hand. His grip was al

Silas threw the tent at Sei and turned to dig for another, his eyebrows furrowing after a few seconds. "Huh," he said softly and turned to the rest of us."There's only one tent." He said. Alexander untied the horse-looking creatures and let them go, "Go hunt and rest. Be back here as soon as morning arrives."The creatures huffed and sprinted away. He sure had a lot of trust in those things. What if they decided not to return?Sei looked at Silas as he untied the tent, "Well, we'll have to share this one. The rest can try and fit in the carriage.""It should fit at least five people." Daffodil stated. Sei nodded, "People, not supernaturals. We are much bigger than human men. I think only three of us will fit, that's only because Akielia and Daffodil are already small in size."So, two guys had to sleep in the carriage together."I'll be sleeping with Akielia." Silas said, reaching for the tent. He snatched it from Sei and started setting it up. A flash of thunder caught my attentio

  • Their Human    Chapter eighty three: carriage

I watched outside my bedroom window as a carriage was loaded up with our belongings, preparing for our departure to the Nazari Packgrounds. My eyes moved back down to the map in front of me. It was a two day trip in a carriage with two horses, and almost a week long trip on foot. Half a day on a car. "I miss my Porsche," I mumbled. There was a number of things I missed about my old life. Such as the delicious food I left behind, and the pretty fashion we were exposed to. I definitely took those for granted. Here, I was expected to dress like a queen in big uncomfortable dresses, tight shoes and perfect hair. Only when I was training, could I wear something more comfortable. Let's not even get started on the food here. The most normal thing they have is blue potatoes. The door opened and Alexander walked in. I hadn't been sleeping in here, and I knew that everyone else had noticed. Surely, everyone was aware about Silas and I, and I had no doubt that the Heads would want to meet u

  • Their Human    Chapter eighty two: confusing

"You know, I mean it when I say you didn't cheat. Maybe in human terms you did, but in supernatural laws, you didn't." Silas said to me, peering at me.It was the next morning since Silas and I escaped to go to the lake. I was fully recovered and spending time outside to get some fresh air. Silas was with me as a bodyguard...And my lover."How so?" I asked him."We didn't decide to break up. When two mates verbally agree to become a couple, they kind of seal their bond. A verbal agreement doesn't strengthen or weaken it. It just acts as a seal, the cherry on top. Like when humans get engaged, they seal it with a ring." Silas explained. I nodded in understanding."You and I never broke that seal, meaning that even in my death, you and I were together. Unless we both told each other that we were broken up, we are together." I pursed my lips and wondered why Sei didn't tell me. He never said anything about breaking a supernatural seal. Did that mean he was still my boyfriend, too?"The

I didn't want him to detect my dishonesty."What do you mean?" I asked him after clearing my throat. "I've been here."He looked around my office before stepping closer to me. He fell on one knee to reach meet my level since I was sitting on the floor, wrapped in a thick blanket. I was finally starting to warm up, and I could feel my powers slowly strengthening.I guess extreme cold is my weakness."I checked this place a million times." Alexander pointed out, his eyes turning black. It usually happened whenever he was hungry, but I knew that he was still full after he had fed from that human he was so obsessed with.
