Chapter 1

Billie’s POV:

Tonight is the night of Annual Mate Matching Ball. Smokey Mountain Pack is hosting it this year since we held it last year and Stone Ridge Pack hosted it the year before. All of the unmated wolves 18 and older, ranked or not, will be there dressed in their best clothes. Mated wolves will be running the event as well as guarding the perimeter during the event. I have yet to meet my mate. My twin brother, Blaine hasn’t met his mate either. As the Beta’s kids, the urge to find our mates gets stronger every year. Shelby is our head warriors daughter and my best friend. My brother Blaine is going to be the packs next Beta. It’s not a sexist decision. He’s more suited for the Beta position. Our father was going to make us lead together but changed his mind as we got older and shifted for the first time. My wolf is big but not as big as Blaine’s so I stepped back and he’s been training for it everyday since we shifted at 14. The three of us are going together to the ball as the other mate less wolves head out in one of our busses since we have about 60 wolves attending from our pack. Shelby is wearing a knee length, Navy dress with a plunging neckline and navy high heels. Her makeup is minimal as usual.

Now I’m wearing a black strapless bodycon dress with black heeled pumps. “Damn we look good girl” Shelby says as we leave my room and head downstairs. Blaine is already down there playing on his phone. He didn’t want to wear a fancy suit so he settled for some black dress slacks, dress shoes and a red button up shirt with his sleeves rolled to his elbows. Our parents are watching tv together making sure to wish us luck as we walk out the front door.

Blaine decided to drive. Something about he wants to live through the night. Whatever that means. I can drive he just sucks at directions. Anyways 45 minutes later we arrive in Smokey Mountain Pack territory, making sure to give border patrol our names, ranks and pack before they let us through. We pull up on the side of their pack house where the banquet hall is located and quickly exit the car. I see our other pack members getting off the bus and walking into the venue. A couple have already found their mates and are finding quieter places to talk or begin the mating process. Gross! Shelby and I start walking around the room talking to various people from the different packs. Apparently Stone Ridge Pack has yet to show up. They are a little farther out than us so it’s understandable. “Shelby look the food table!!” I whisper shout as I yank her towards the table. “Damn girl relax” she says giggling. About 30 minutes we hear the Stone Ridge pack show up. Several have found their mates already and have paired off like the other new couples.

Blaine’s POV:

As I finish talking to some pack members, the sweetest smell of chocolate and wildflowers fills my nose. I instantly froze, looking around the room for my mate when my eyes land on the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in my life. I can tell she smells me too cause she’s frantically looking around the room too. Our eyes instantly lock and my wolf, Archer starts howling for his mate. Without knowing it, I start moving towards to my gorgeous mate. She has light brown hair, blue eyes and a little over 5 feet. I tower over her with my 6’2” height. “Hi mate” I say huskily as I wrap my arms around her small body. “What’s your name beautiful?” I ask her “Jordyn you?” She says with a smile “Blaine. What pack are you from?” I ask her “I’m from Stone Ridge Pack. You?” “I’m the next Beta of Moon Ridge Pack” I tell her with a smile. I’m so happy I’ve found my beta female. She’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect. My wolf hums in a agreement as I walk her to my table and sit her on my lap placing my face in her neck inhaling her scent.

~An hour later~

Billie’s POV:

I’m already bored with being here. Finally the hosting Alpha steps up to the mic. “Hello everyone welcome to my pack. I can see some of you have found your mates already. Congratulations! Now can I have all unmated wolves line up in a line, males on the left and females on the right. Face each other please. Wait til the count of three to go to your mates. One… two… three” he says loudly in the mic. I hear a series of growls and “mines” as over half of the unmated wolves found their mates. Well I guess that’s another year without my mate. Feeling a little upset I make my way out the back door to the large garden here. It’s so beautiful out here I think to myself as I take a seat on one of the many benches.

Shelby’s POV:

After I fill myself with food, I begin walking around the room just as bored as I’m sure Billie is by now. I walk by one of the entrances and get a whiff of an amazing smell. It smells like campfire and soap. I follow the smell out to one of the patios noticing large man a little over 6ft. He’s leaning on the rail smoking a cigarette staring off into nothingness. As I step closer I see him stiffen and slowly turn towards me. “Mine” slips from his lips as my wolf howls in happiness at finding her mate. He has black hair, grey eyes with muscles. He comes closer to me whispering “what’s your name Babygirl?” Shivering at his deep voice “Shelby. What’s yours?” I ask him. “Micah. I’m the gamma of the Stone Ridge pack. The alpha’s are my cousins” he says with a eye roll making me giggle “I’m the head warriors daughter of Moon Ridge pack and I’m best friends with the beta’s daughter, Billie.” He wraps his arms around my waist pulling me forward into his chest before dropping his face into my neck running his nose along my neck before kissing my neck causing a little moan to escape my mouth. “Oh Babygirl I love that sound but let’s save that for later” he tells me as he guides me back into the party.

Billie’s POV:

I’m enjoying the gentle breeze in the garden when I start smelling something wonderful. It smells like cedar and vanilla. The wind shifts and I get another amazing smell. It smells like pine and cinnamon. Two different smells both make me react the same way. Oh shit! Twin mates?? Damn it I knew the moon goddess had a sense of humor. I can tell wherever the smells are coming from they’re moving around so I decide to get up and walk farther into the large garden towards the pond. As I walk around the pond the smell and whoever it belongs to are coming closer. I decide to watch the koi fish swimming in the pond when I feel two people present both are my mates and are definitely Alpha’s. “Little one please turn around for us” one of my mates says. I shiver but turn around slowly only to see two of most handsome men ever. Both of them have brown hair and green eyes and are giants. I walk up to them catching them off guard. “The names Billie you sexy alphas and I’m the betas daughter of Moon Ridge Pack. What about you two mouth watering men?” I ask them as I run my nose against each of their necks earning growls of of dominance “I’m Killian sweetheart” the one on the left says “and I’m Kaden little one. We are the alpha’s of Stone Ridge Pack and you are now our Luna. God you smell delicious. Doesn’t she smell amazing brother?” Kaden asks Killian as they move to sandwich me. Sweet Jesus I can feel both their lengths and DAMN they’re gunna rip me apart. I can’t wait!! My pervy wolf decides to chime in. All I can do is agree though cause they’re sooo damn fine. “Little one?” Kaden asks “sorry my wolf had a few things to say” I tell them while blushing hard. Trying to hide my face in Killian’s chest earning a few chuckles from both of them. “I don’t really want to go back in there it’s boring. Can we just hang out out here and talk for awhile?” I ask them. Both nod before guiding me to a gazebo on the far side of the pond.
