Twenty-Six

Lilith’s POV

My eyes and body were incredibly heavy, yet I felt as if I were floating. I knew I had been encased in darkness however there was light ahead of me for I could see the brightness of it through my eyelids. Suddenly my lungs struggled to take in any air as I felt myself sink, that brightness disappearing as I became completely plunged into darkness. I figured something had happened when my eyes shot open. Scanning my surroundings panic should have been the emotion I felt only it wasn’t. Calm. I felt completely and utterly calm, like there was nothing to worry or stress about. Taking a few deep breaths, I took the opportunity to glance around at my surroundings. Never in my life had I seen a lake so beautiful and blue. Tiny fishes of all different colours swam happily around me.
