Mykel’s POV

“Anna is dead.” I wanted to feel bad for him, but after being stabbed in the back I didn’t. Anna however I did feel sorry for. She was as innocent they came and deserved far better than the unfortunate hand she’d been dealt.

“How do you know?” Keeping my tone flat I sat at my desk. While Elijah remained leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes remaining on Dante the entire time.

“Her head was waiting for me when I got home. I should have known better then to trust someone like him. I got so wrapped up in building my reputation and increasing my pack size, I thought I’d be invincible. That no-one not even he would have considered fighting with. I was wrong. So fucking WRONG!” Slamming his fists onto my desk it was clear he was hurting and that he blamed himself.

“I’m sorry for your loss truly I am. Anna was a beautiful young woman with a bright future ahead of her. Alaric will get what’s coming to him you know that, but it doesn’t explain why

Raven’s POVWaking up my body ached. Last night had been amazing in every way imaginable. I was able to reach new heights of pleasure that I hadn’t known existed. After everything with my father and Benjamin I doubted my place anywhere, and when Mykel claimed me, I felt like a home wrecker. He had a life with Lilith that I had intruded on and as much as I wanted her to accept me, I thought she’d hate me. Last night proved just how wrong I had been. Through the bond that now connected us I felt nothing but peace and acceptance. She felt completely content with how everything had turned out after the loss of her son. The loss of Mykel’s son.Trailing my fingers over Lilith’s mark images of last night replayed in my mind. My clit throbbing as I remembered each and every orgasm I endured at their hands. The feeling of not only Mykel but Lilith’s hands as they roamed my skin. The immense intensity of bliss as tingles and sparks erupted throughout me. I could have stayed like that for an et

Mykel’s POVThe day was quick to pass and soon the moon had blessed the sky with her arrival. The moon graced the sky as if she'd had some bright new idea, something brilliant needed to shine upon the Earth. The perfect full moon, brighter than the last as if knowing we would need her to bless our prayers. Every day we prayed the moon goddess would bless us with another for no one knew which day would be their last. It held a kind of irony to it for Dante’s true intention was that should he not make it out of the upcoming war that his pack wouldn’t suffer, that they would recognise me as their new Alpha. The unknown hung over everyone whether they chose to believe it or not. Those that didn’t some would say were in denial, were others lived life to the full just in case the next day was their last. We would hug and kiss our loved ones, spoil our children and make time for friends not knowing if it was going to be the last time we saw them. With all the pack wars and lives lost it was

Lilith’s POVThe fear that rippled through me faded away a sense of calm taking over.‘It’s done. Bless it be my child.’ The soft whisper of Selene caressing my ear before a strong warmth overwhelmed me. Taking a step back from the barrier I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.Holding my arms out towards the pentagram warm tingles that tickled my skin flowed down my arms to the tips of my fingers before leaving and engulfing the barrier. Slowly I felt myself strengthen just as the moon reached its apex. I didn’t know how I knew it, but it was aiding me and right now I didn’t care. I would take all the help I could get. My bond to Mykel was fading and I just couldn’t lose him.As the barrier dropped so did my arms. Staggering backwards I clutched my chest struggling to inhale the much needed air. Raven fell to my side her hands supporting me, but Mykel needed her more.“Get to him… bring him here.” I had to have faith I could help him. That I could save his life like he had mine. Wh

Lilith’s POVA pain so sharp cut through me like a knife to the heart. My eyes forced shut as I fell to the ground a wailing scream leaving my lips. Raven had fallen beside me too clutching her chest as tears trailed down her cheeks. Mt first instinct was that Mykel had fallen, that he had given his life to save us all. To allow us to prepare for the battle ahead. That was until Hollie’s scream echoed throughout the kitchen as it bounced off the tiled walls. She struggled to breathe one hand on her chest while another sat on her neck. It couldn’t be, not him. Raven crawled over to Hollie offering her some comfort. It would not do anything to ease the pain she felt but at least she wouldn’t be forced to grieve and suffer alone. Hollies parents were among the first to die back when Ravens father attacked. Her father was chief guard and died protecting Mykel’s mother. Her mother however somehow tuned out the pain of the disintegrating mate bond long enough to reach her husband’s side. T

Ravens POVTime in the Mountain Forest Pack seemed to come to a stop as news of Elijah’s death spread. Pack members surrounded the house a lit candle in their hands as they prayed for him to find peace. It was both strange and heart warming to see as they came to show their respect for their fallen beta. Back home things like this never happened. Nobody gave a rat’s ass if someone died everyone to self involved with their own lives. It had been three days since the incident and Hollie had finally settled down and was discharged from the hospital. She wasn’t herself which was completely understandable. Her eyes dull and vacant, void of light and life. My heart broke for her, the pain of losing a mate the worst thing one could experience. I may not have liked her in the beginning, but I wouldn’t have wished this on her. I wouldn’t even wish it on my father, and I hated him.“Raven?” Lilith’s voice came from the bedroom doorway. Turning on the bed to face her I noticed how the tears shon

Lilith’s POVThe moment I heard Ravens scream my blood turned cold and I knew something was wrong. Running into the room I could smell Mykel’s arousal, but when I witnessed him hunched over and Ravens eyes filled with tears, I knew what was happening. I could see the panic as clear as day on her face and knew I needed to step in. I had been in this situation with him several times before so to save Raven from reliving the same past event that tortured her dreams every night, I would take her place. Once I knew Raven was safe, I dropped my towel taking a step towards my rage and drunk fogged mate. I had buried my still born son; I had stared death in the face, and I had taken down one of the most ruthless alphas in existence. So, Mykel’s current state no longer scared me, and it certainly no longer paralysed me.My body heated as his eyes travelled over my naked flesh. My lips curling up into a smirk when his eyes lingered on my breasts. They weren’t big by any means, but Mykel had tol

Mykel’s POVAs pack members filled into the chapel my eyes scanned the room for Hollie. Raven had said she would meet us at breakfast and that she would travel with us. We waited for twenty minutes but when she didn’t show after attempting to mind link her, we decided to head out. Today would be a hard day for us as a whole but I couldn’t begin to imagine the pain Hollie was feeling. I spent the entire journey telling myself that she was ok, that she just needed time and likely wanted to be alone. I just hoped I was right, and she hadn’t done anything stupid.Once everyone had taken their respective seats the priest took to the podium. I sat in the front row with Lilith and Raven either side of me. Each of their hands in one of my own placed in my lap. I needed their comfort right now and wasn’t remotely bothered who knew it. I may be an Alpha but I’m not heartless man.As we bowed our heads for the final prayer the doors to the rear of the chapel were flung open as Hollie stumbled in

***TRIGGER WARNING. CHAPTER CONTAINS SCENE OF SA***Raven’s POV“Shit, Wallace get Hollie and Raven out of here.”“I’ll get them to the bunker Alpha.”“Are you fucking stupid? That will be the first place they look for them. Take them to the western border. Go as far into the woods as you can. Raven will know where to go when she sees it and I will only say this once Wallace. So fucking listen up.” I watched my heart thumping as Mykel gripped the warrior’s collar pulling him so that their noses practically touched. “If anything should happen to her and Wallace, I do mean anything I will rip you to fucking shreds. Understand?” Nodding to Mykel’s words the warrior nodded violently looking as though he was about to shit himself. The moment Mykel released him he gripped my shoulder in an attempt to usher me away.“What about you guys? I can’t sit back while this is happening. It’s my fault their here in the first place! If I would have just listened and done as I was told none of this wou

Raven’s POVThe drive home took forever but when we did arrive, I was more than glad. All I wanted was to have a proper bath and sleep in an actual bed. Let’s face it the hospital ones are anything but comfortable.Mykel helped me from the back of the car as Lilith grabbed Spartan and both of the baby bags. Grabbing Katherine and my hand, Mykel led me towards the house. As we approached the doors I thought back to when I first came here. My father had forced me to attend the Alpha meeting with him and Benjamin. Then when I met Mykel and realised he was my mate I wanted nothing more than to leave. Only now I realised how much I missed this place. Blood Moon had never felt like home, but this place did, and I had both my mates to thank for that.“SURPRISE!” Snapping me out of my thoughts the loud shouting had me jumping from my skin. Everyone from our pack had come to welcome us home and meet their future pack leaders. That one sentiment alone had me welling up, stupid hormones.“Raven…

Lilith’s POV“Your highness…” turning around stood Kate her head low as she bowed in a sign of respect.“Please don’t… When you said I was special this is what you meant didn’t you.”“I did yes but I’m afraid there’s no time. Your mates are on their way to the hospital and will be safe for now. I’ve slowed Raven’s labour so I’d say you have two hours before my potion wears off.”“She’s in labour… it… it’s too early!”“I know and I’m afraid that’s my doing. Had her pregnancy continued another twenty-four hours I’m afraid something would have happened to them. I slipped something into her tea, but rest assured it won’t harm either of your pups. Alpha Mykel told me the witches from Ruby Wood came here with you, if that’s true it means we need to hurry. Come with me!” Kate held her hand out for me to take which I did without a second thought. Yet a part of me wondered why she was avoiding the witches that came for her.Everything within me told me to trust her. She was a seer. They were f

Mykel’s POVThe aura Lilith gave off scared the shit out of even me. For weeks she had said how she couldn’t give in to the power she held and now I knew why the God’s had forbid her. I could no longer feel her presence, only raw untamed power.Ravens scream had my eyes darting away from Lilith and to where she sat on the ground. Her face twisted and contorted as she panted and tried to breathe through the pain of yet another contraction. This should have been a moment to treasure, our pup’s arrival something to celebrate but instead we were forced to fight for our lives. To fight for the lives of our pack and those who would soon enter this world. They should be bought into a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, not a place where they are at risk.Looking around in a panic I couldn’t see Xander anywhere. Having seen what happened to his father he clearly ran not wanting to end up the same. Though whether he liked it or not I wouldn’t rest a day until he too was dead. Only with him no lon

Yet as quick as it came it left leaving nothing but confusion behind.Dropping the half dead mutt to the ground I looked to see what it was until another shot me. Through the thick heavy fog, I hadn’t spot anyone focusing on me, so I knew it had something to do with Raven. Something that only fuelled the anger already burning within me.All around me wolves were tearing each other to shreds. Howls and whimpers coming from all directions while a river of blood watered the ground as the warm liquid began to melt the ice. The witches from Ruby Wood were good to their word and helped where they could. Only they practiced natural magic which wasn’t exactly deadly. Though at this moment in time any help was greatly appreciated and the fog they created gave us the cover we needed.Dante and his mate fought side by side which was something amazing to se

Raven’s POVAs food was being placed on the table everything around us began to shake. At first it was nothing more than a small tremble. Something that could have been easily mistaken for an earthquake, but they gradually became more violent confirming they were explosions. The few pictures that hung the walls dropped, the glass shattering as they hit the ground. The china plates and cups moved nearer and nearer the edge of the table until they too ended up on the ground.“Alpha, they’ve found us!” Keeping a straight face I watched as my father lost his temper as one of his idiot men ran into the room. Judging by the look on both their faces they hadn’t planned on anyone finding them here.“No shit fucking Sherlock! Get them two into the bunker and do not open the fucking door unless I tell you to!” As I got to my feet another blast had the walls shaking as the lights began to flicker. By my count this was the fourth blast. This was my signal, so I knew what I had to do.Letting the

Lilith’s POV“What you’re saying is complete madness! I’m sorry Lilith we really are. You’ve walked our Pack; you’ve met out soldiers. You know we wouldn’t stand a chance against Alaric and Benjamin’s packs.”“Don’t forget his other allies.”“Please let me finish before you make your final decision. Neither Mykel nor myself would be asking if we thought for a second we would lose. We have Alpha Dante and Spring Haven joining us tomorrow along with his new mate who also happens to be a Blood Witch. As for the Delamere Forest Pack I have accepted my title as their Alpha and in doing so ended all alliances with Blood Moon. I will be heading there tomorrow night ready to lead them the next day. All we need now is you. Ruby Wood is the only other pack in this region that’s allied with us and not Alaric. The others have alliances with us both so out of respect for the treaties they are staying out of it.” Ruth and Raymond’s eyes glossed over as they mine linked. I respected them both as did

Raven’s POVWhen he was finished ‘having his fun’ I smiled. I mean how fucked up is that? To say the guard was creeped out was an understatement. In my defence what he did was nothing compared to what I’d been forced to endure at the hands of Benjamin. With him I would cry the entire time his roughness bringing nothing but an agonising pain, but the guard was almost gentle. Well almost. Sick right? When the doctor finished stitching my side, she forced some tablets into my hand explaining that they were antibiotics. My ever so loving father had bothered to go ahead of me and explain how he didn’t want anything to happen to the pups I carried should I get an infection from my injury. More like he didn’t know whether or not the guard he let have his way was riddled with an STD. Grandfather of the year right there! Yeh fucking right. He didn’t give a shit about me; I knew it and everyone else in this pack knew it. All he cared about was the lives growing inside of me though not for the n

***WARNING THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS TRIGGERS***Mykel’s POVThe sounds of snarls and growls grew louder the closer I became to Lilith. Suddenly a pain in my ribs caused my breath to hitch shortly followed by a chorus of cheers. Pushing my wolf harder than ever his paws barely touched the ground as he sprinted towards our mate.Seeing me arrive the onlookers backed away allowing me to pass through them without causing a fuss. In the centre of a roped off ring I found her. Her chestnut coloured wolf stood tall and proud as she battled against a wolf that had clearly seen better days. His size was nothing compared to that of my mate. His dark fur was patchy and thin clinging to his frame. Had it not been for his aura I would have thought someone else had taken Tye’s place. While Lilith’s movements were fluid and quick, Tye’s were both calculated and forceful. It was clear that even in his muscle lacked state he held a resemblance of strength. As the fight went on neither wolf seeming to sur

Lilith’s POVAll night I tossed and turned unable sleep. I felt sick to my stomach with guilt at rejecting Mykel after we did the most normal thing a mated couple could do. I could feel his regret like a ton of bricks, but I didn’t have it in me to face him. He hadn’t done anything wrong, and I didn’t blame him one single bit. I blamed myself.I was the moon goddess and still hadn’t found our missing mate or pups. I felt like an outright failure. How on earth was I supposed to go into the challenge like this?As I laid there listening to the slow steady beat of Mykel’s heart it became clear what I needed to do. In order to do what needed to be done I would have to detach myself completely. It was the only way.As the sunlight flittered in through the gaps of the blind, I swung my legs out of the bed. Climbing out and changing into my sports bras and leggings before grabbing the notebook and pen I took another look at my mate and smiled. As I sneaked into the bathroom, I quietly closed
