*Soleil*
What ?
I blink feeling confused, but it is still the ceiling in my room I see. But it can't be. I cradle my head, trying to remember how I got home from the forest. Was it just one of my weird dreams ?
"Damn, I am just about ready for the asylum". I mumble to myself, pulling the duvet off. My feet hit something soft on the floor. When I look down my stomach makes a backflip and I pull my feet back up with a yelp. In front of the bed is the white dress, as dirty as it can get. I try not to look down while I rummage for my phone and call Davina.
"It's me". My voice breaks. "When are you coming over ?"
"In a couple of hours. What's the rush, doll ?" Davina mumbles, sounding very sleepy.
"Nothing really.. or well it can wait till you get here. See
So big things about to happen
*Soleil* "I am not getting any premonitions Elder. But it doesn't seem like anyone is following us". The woman behind the wheel says with what sounds like a Scottish accent. She puts the car in gear and drives out of town. I stare at the three women that crashed my birthday party and almost dragged me into the car, not sure if I should be scared. I have no idea where we are going and even less why I have gone with them. "I can't feel any presence either". The older woman in the passenger's seat says. "Whatever the darkness is, it isn't following us, not yet anyway". I flinch slightly when my eyes lock with the women sitting next to me. She sends me a friendly smile. "I know you are a bit scared right now sweetie, it's okay". Even as my mouth opens and I try to protest, not a single sound is
*Luca* I am running through the forest as fast as I can, looking over my shoulder again and again, panic and fear is gripping me. Slightly behind me and to the left I can hear a giant beast brave through the scrub and bushes, hunting me. I am running faster than I have ever done before but the beast still follows me easily. It gets up on my side and in three long jumps it is in front of me. It keeps running in front of me, pressuring me to turn left and run back towards where we came from. "Come on ! Calm down for shits sake. We can't have you running into town". A man runs up on the other side, slightly behind me. Oh God no ! This is the end. I almost can't run anymore, the pain in my legs about to overcome me as the last energy reserves disappears from my muscles. A fallen tree shows up in front of me, and I jump with everything I got to get over it. Before I can l
*Soleil*I jump slightly as both the front doors open at the same time and I sit up confused. I must have fallen asleep, because it is light outside now. Yesterday comes crashing down on me and the insecurity creeps back under my skin."Morning". Gudrun says calmly."Where are we". I whisper, my eyes blinking against the harsh light. The forest is dense around the courtyard where the car is parked. The house in front of me is an old wood cabin painted in red and white with a big deck in dark wood. There is only one opening in the forest beside the narrow driveway, a wide path leading to a lake."Welcome to Ballimore". The red head says with a smile. She clearly sees me looking at the lake. "Please take a walk, stretch your legs, take a look at the lake"."I am no
*Soleil*The others are already filling their plates, when I come in. From the front door I step directly into an old fashioned combined dining and living room. I can see a kitchen through a door. I walk over to the table, sitting down at the empty spot.I suddenly realise how hungry I am and I start loading food up on my plate when Gudrun hands me the dish with the fish."I noticed that you made the wind blow back in your garden and when you received your calling there was a violent wind involved too". Siri says before taking a bite of the fish. "After lunch we better try to figure out where that comes from"."So that is my superpower or what ?" I say hasing a potato around my plate, finally spearing it with my fork.Gudrun coughs, almost choking on her fish. "I wish it was like that ! I could use
*Soleil*"Are you ready to get going, Soleil ?" Siri says, grabbing a sweater. We walk into the forest towards the north, a small downtrodden path that leads us deep in between the dense pine trees. The smell is different in the forest. Beside the scent of the damp earth and rotting plants that I am used to, it smells of tree sap.We haven't walked for long when we reach a small stream running down towards the lake by the cabin."If you should ever get lost in the forest, find this stream and follow the flow. It will lead you back to the cabin". Siri says."The forest stream". I say with a nod, stepping up on the old tree trunk that is laying over the stream as a bridge. We keep walking, getting farther into the forest until we reach a clearing. I stop in my tracks whe
*The vampire*"Boss ? Are you awake ?" Natascha slowly sticks her head in the door to my bedroom. "I got a couple of bags for you"."Bring them here". I mumble, sitting up, feeling so very tired.I am still very weak after my trip to the forest. When I finally drove into the courtyard I had been close to crashing the car. Even if the windows were blackened out, I wasn't totally protected from sunlight. And because I hadn't eaten before going to the forest, the accumulation of porphyrins in my blood had happened very fast. They had made my skin explode in blisters, several places leaving craters of dead tissue. The muscles had contracted due to lack of blood. The security had to twitch my mummified body from the seat and carry me to bed. And here I have been since, as helpless as a cow. It pisses me off badly to let Natascha take care of me and see me in this way.
*Siri*"So who recognised her". Gudrun asks curiously after Soleil has gone to bed."No one". I say thoughtfully. "Not the vaetter from the earth and stones, nor the ones from the water had connections to her. And no one among the dísir either".Marta and Gudrun look worriedly at each other. And Marta says. "We have been reading in the old books while you were gone. There are stories in there about vǫlur getting help from a thurse and stories of storms that made ships sink and fog that made warriors lose their way. I found nothing in our own scripts… and I didn't find anything about the dark one"."I remembered that the Malleus Maleficarum has some chapters about witches creating storms. But none of them had anything usable or true for that matter. I tried looking for something that fits with what Soleil told about the da
*Luca*I am not ready to wake up yet, but some very annoying birds insist on singing right outside my window extremely loud. Reluctantly I open my eyes, doesn't sound like the little shite out there is about to shut up. I manage to sit halfway up, before I have to give up and with a groan I fall back on the pillow. Every fiber in my body is protesting, like I have worked out for hours yesterday. I suddenly realise that I am naked…like totally naked.I mean how big is the chance that I decide to sleep naked in a house full of men ? Yup zero, nil, nada ! Where the fuck are my clothes ?The clothes aren't on the chair and it's not on the floor either. It's not really my style getting naked outside and strolling through the house showing off my arse before getting int
