Chapter 5

During the whole night, Riley could not sleep, it was around 4 am when she finally closed her eyes and fell asleep. The morning came but she did not feel like going out or doing something. She received a message from an unknown number. She wondered who sent her a message. It said:

                "Hey sweety, how are you? I landed last night, the movie was a success. I want to see you today,                           

                                      get ready and let's go out. I will be at Manhattan Mall in 2 hours

Reading this message Riley was excited. She knew who sent it. It was her best friend, Sarah and she knew she had to see her. She got up and went to the bathroom. She washed her face and teeth, got dressed, put on a little bit of makeup, and was ready. She went downstairs and saw Leonardo. She did not want to greet him, but when he noticed her he spoke:

- Good morning cousin.

She nodded.

- Where are you going? - he asked

- Is my husband here? 

- No he is not, he went out.

- I wanted to tell him I am going out, shopping. Can you please tell him?

- Can I come with you?

- No I have already made an appointment. See you. Bye

She got outside of the mansion and saw a man in a dark suit. She knew it was the chauffeur and told him:

- Good morning.

- Good morning madam. How may I help you?

- Can you take me to Manhattan mall, please?

- Of course madam.

He opened the car door for her and she got inside. She called the number from which she got the message and Sarah answered. 

- Hey baby, where are you? Riley asked.

- I am in Starbucks at the corner, what do you want to drink?

- Frappucino.

- Ok I will buy it for you, hurry up.

- I will be there in 15 minutes.

After a few minutes, they were there. She got out of the car.

- Thank you for the ride. No need to wait for me I will come home later.

- Yes madam.

She went inside. Looked for Sarah and in the far corner of the coffee shop, she could see her. Sarah wore a mask, her long hair tied into a ponytail, and she was wearing a very ordinary white down jacket. Sarah has been like this since she was in school she always became the focus wherever she goes, and she can easily attract the attention of others. Riley hugged her, sat down opposite her, and said:

- Sorry for being late.

 Sara hugged her arms and leaned on the sofa, glanced at her, and then slowly said:

- You are the Knight's young lady, a small person like me should wait for you.”

Riley smirked and said:

- Don't be silly. I am happy you are here. How did the shooting go? Did you have fun?

- I really did. I met Robert Evans, oh my god he is so handsome. We had a nice time and agreed to meet each other when I got back to LA. 

- Oh nice. I am glad. 

- Enough about me, now you.....What happened, why did you get married to Bruce Knight? What happened to Erick?

- Well I saw him making out with Lisa, so I decided to continue my wedding, but I only changed the groom.

- Wait what? - she asked

Sarah was stunned. 

- What did you say? - Sarah asked again
- I told you. He cheated on me with Lisa.

- Lisa? As your stepsister Lisa?

- Aham. 

- Oh I will kill them both. 

Sarah was very angry. Her eyes were full of anger and Riley knew that if they came in at this moment she could kill them. She tried to calm her down.

- Please, it was not a big deal, so he cheated. I got my revenge. Can we please drink our coffee and talk about something else?

Sara did not want to change the topic, she wanted her friend to feel good and to take out all the frustration she had pilled up in herself.

- Oh baby, you married Bruce because of that?

- Yes I did. But now I feel okay. I met him 2 times and he is not at home most of the time so I have time for myself. He does not bother me and I can go out whenever I like. Anyway, the only thing I hate now in the mansion is not my husband, but his annoying cousin.

- Why?

- He is very annoying and...

At that moment they were interrupted by someone.

- Anyone I know. - he asked.

Riley turned her head and saw him. Leonardo.

- What are you doing here? she asked.

- Well I wanted to drink a cup of coffee so I came in. May I sit?

- Of course. - Sarah answered.

Riley was furious, but she did not want to show that in front of him.

- So what were you guys talking about? Who is annoying? - he asked.

- Oh, a mouse I have at my home, he is very annoying, but I will get rid of him soon. I think I just need to tell my husband about it. - Riley answered.

- You can always tell me. I can try and help you.- Bruce suggested.

Riley smiled politely and continued drinking her coffee. 

- So Leonardo what are your plans for today? - Sarah asked.

- I plan to take my cousin home. Why what are your plans?

- Well we wanted to go shopping, you can come with us if you want.

- NO he can not. This is our time.

- I would love to. - he said. 

They finished their coffee and went inside the mall. They shopped for a few hours and when they were exhausted Bruce said.

- I am tired, please cousin let's go home. 

Riley agreed with a nod. She was also tired and wanted to rest. She could not stand him anymore. He got out his cell phone and called Douglas.

- Sarah we have to go. I will call you later.

- Okay baby, call me and we will talk - Sara said.

Douglas arrived, he got out took the bags, and opened the car door, so they could get in. He opened the trunk put the bags and entered the car. Looked at the rearview mirror and asked.

- Where to? - Douglas asked

Before Riley could say anything Bruce answered

- Take us home Douglas. 

And that was it. Silence finally. Riley could not stand him speaking anymore. She wanted silence, so he gave her that, peace and quiet, or at least until they arrived home.
