chapter fifty-five

Tyler Mitchell POV

"We have to get out of here," I said, grabbing the phone.

"No, Justin, I won't risk it; our daughter is being born!" Emily said nervously.

"Love, our daughter is about to be born; we have to get out of here," I began dialing Luke's number. Was I happy to call him? No, but that didn't matter; after all, that bastard was one of the few people who could help us at the moment. It only took one call, and he answered right away.

"I'm still on the back street," he said as soon as he answered.

"Luke, Emily's water broke, Olivia is coming. I need you to see how many shooters are around the house!" I said desperately.

"Alright, give me five minutes," he said seriously.

I hung up the phone and turned to Emily, trying to calm her.

"The doctor warned that if the water broke, we would have at least ten hours until dilation reached the point. We have time," she said, burying her head in my shoulder. I didn't need to touch her to feel the heat of her body and her uneven breathing.
