Chapter 5

Kasper and Flint are now staying and socializing with the humans for a few days but they can't find a trace about the hunter.

"I think she hides for a while because she knows that we will look for her."

"But my mom is waiting now for news about the hunter but I couldn't give her anything."

"Tell her to just relax," Flint said and Kasper just glare at him.

"I want to punch you," Kasper seriously said but his friend just laughed at him. "I even sometimes question myself how you become my friend."

"Oh, come on! Don't be like that, dude!"

"What are you saying?" 

Flint used his mind link to talk to him.

'We need to call each other, dude'

'It that necessary?'

'Of course! We better act normal in here.'

'Fine.' Kasper just said and stop their mind linking.

"Let's go to that place, dude. They say that they serve tasty food," he said while pointing to a stall that has different kinds of human food.

"Just go on your own."

"But why? Do you like to go somewhere else?"

"No. Let me remind you again. We are not here to have fun."

"I know, I know! But we still need to eat. Alright! I just buy something for you too."

"Fine!" Kasper said then Flint just disappear in front of him. They are werewolves but sometimes they also eat human foods. For the past years, they adopt from it. 

Kasper began to wander around the plaza that the human called. There are different stalls in here. There is also a lot of people wandering around.

He walks towards the bookstall when a book catches his attention. Kasper frowned upon reading its title, The Devil Werewolf.

"Oh, hello there! You must be interested in mythical creatures. Are you going to buy that book?" asked an old man, who seemed to be the seller.

"Yes," he just said. The seller tells him the price and Kasper immediately pays for it.

After Kasper bought the book, he find a place that can be a seat. He also uses his mind link to tell Flint his whereabouts, it wasn't far from the place where Flint buys food.

When Kasper was comfortably sitting, he began to read the book. While reading he can't stop frowning. He only read a few pages but he already closed the book.

'This is stupid!' he said on his thought while referring to the book. He believes that most written in the book are false accusations.

'Humans have an imaginative mind,' Kasper just said and a smirked form on his lips.

For the past years, Kasper believes to what the only guardian in their village, which is guardian Kitsune, told him. She said that werewolves, have been living peacefully for hundreds of year's and in their time, there wasn't a hunter because humans and werewolves are just living in their world. Changes happened twenty-seven years ago, which is also the year when Flint and Kasper were born.

They also killed humans, but they only did it if they are harming them. They won't make a move first if humans won't attack them. The war between humans and werewolves happened because of that werewolf hunter. And Kasper and all the villagers believe that the peace in our village will only happen if they killed that hunter.

Kasper stood up and begin to walk. But he stopped when someone bumped at him.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" The lady said and start to pick up the books that fall on the ground. Kasper just help her pick up some of them.

"Here you go."

"Thank you! I'm sorry about what happened, mister," she said. Kasper was stunned for a bit when he saw her smile and their eyes meet.

"Oh, you also like to read books about werewolves?"

"Oh... Not really."

"But it's a good book too," she said while looking at the book that he was holding.

"You can have this if you want."

"Really? Thank you so much!" she said and giggled. A smile formed on Kasper's lips because of her action.

'She's cute! Wait, what?'  Kasper shook his head because of his thought. He remains his serious look too.

"I should get going. Thank you again for this, mister. By the way, I'm Ace," she said while smiling before leaving him.

'What was that?' Kasper asks himself as he feels something different that he can't explain. The lady's voice soothes him. He was frowning and annoyed because of what he read but when he saw her, he feel calm. 

'What is this feeling?' he asks again.

"Kasper!" He was back in reality after hearing someone calling his name.

"Flint? What is it?" 

"We need to get out in here," he said seriously. "Hurry!" he added.

Kasper gives him a questioning look but he just keeps pulling him.

Now, they are in the house that we're staying in for a couple of days.

"What's wrong with you? You look tense," Kasper said because Flint keeps walking back and forth in the same direction.

"What did that woman tell you?"

"Oh! She likes the book I'm holding, therefore, I gave it to her. She also tells me her name."

"What is it?"

"She's Ace," Kasper said but he was confused when he saw Flint become more intense but then, he frowned.

"Ha! I can't believe this! I thought she was hiding... What a daring person?! Where did she get her courage to act as if we're just nothing?!  She's getting on my nerves! And it pissed me! It seems that she was expecting this to happen. I think... She also already knows your identity."

"Hey, what are you talking about?"

"That woman! She's Ace, the werewolf hunter!" His sentence made Kasper stunned.

'No way!'

Flint and Kasper stayed for another day in the human world. It seems that the hunter already knows their identity but she still didn't make a move. They are observing and following her but she just continues to live her normal life. Both of them are puzzled about the things she will do. 

But most importantly, Kasper was confused. 'What am I feeling towards her? This only happens to a werewolf when they meet their mate... Is the hunter... my mate? That can't be!'
