CARSON'S POV

Anne's words the other night had stung me and ever since then, I had kept my distance from her, instead immersing myself in work.

It was time for breakfast but I didn't head down, I just stayed holed up in my office.

I didn't want to witness the scene of Anne fussing over Cadel just because he was injured and in the hospital.

It always made fury surge inside of me.

What was so special about Cadel that she wasn't willing to leave him when I could give her everything he could provide and more.

Although she had said I was important to her too, as much as Cadel, I didn't think it was true.

I had to fight to get as close to her as I was today while her relationship with Cadel had been super tight ever since he found her and brought her home.

A knock sounded at my door and whoever it was did not wait for me to reply before pushing the door open.

Cadel casually walked in.

What was he doing here?

"Why are you here?" I asked, voicing out the question on my mind.

"To talk to you."
