Zara's broken voice made Mason's eyes widen. "Zara, are you okay? W-"

"Abi, why did not they kill me? Why did she let me rot?" her sob clogged Mason's throat.

"Zara, please tell me, where are you? I will go get you."

However, the other side was left blank.

"Zara? Zara, can you hear me?"

"Damn it! Tell me, where are you?"

"The woman speaking to you has fainted," an unfamiliar voice spoke from the other end.

"Who are you? What happened to her?"

"I found this woman unconscious near the beach. She looked like she had been attacked, so I called the ambulance. She came to and asked me to call her number," said the boy.

"Which hospital?"

Mason did not know how he drove all the way across town to the hospital, as told by the boy on the call. He ran to the front desk to ask for information on the patient who was taken to the emergency room.

"Doctors are examining the patient. You can go to ER 3, go straight ahead and take the corridor to the end. The ER is on your left," the receptionist sai
