LIAM'S POV
I'm definitely sure I had seen warrior ladies and strong ones but never had seen calculative and brave ones who needed more than strength to beat their opponents in the werewolf world. Lily just made me see one. She was ferocious and fought like she had always trained with Noah and mastered all his fighting skills, strength and weaknesses.
Lily was everything a warrior needed but lacked one. I was totally amazed as I watched her fight and for more than a moment I felt guilty for how I treated her. Then I wondered what would have happened if she hadn't showed up while I was almost butchered by the man from Noah's pack.
And not only did she save my life but she also saved the pack in my charge.
When she finished I had sent someone to get me clothes for her as she would need to change but Hailey beat me to it. But I was hurt, like really hurt or perhaps jealous when Danny ha
"Here, drink this. It will help," Danny said and handed me a hot steamy soup. I took it carefully so it doesn't spill on me and gulped a little."Ouch, gosh it's too hot!" I cried out as the soup burned my tongue."Oh no...I'm so sorry...I should have blown it cool...here give it to me…""No, that's okay. I can do that. Thanks," I told Danny and took another short sip from the soup after blowing gently on it. This time it didn't burn my tongue although it was still very hot.I had just woken up from a long sleep and realized I felt much better and healed before Danny walked in with a bowl of soup."He is out there, downstairs&
LIAM'S POVThe moment I stepped out of the Castle, I realised the weight of Lily's request. How on earth am I supposed to find the true killers of her mother's death for an incident that occurred two years ago!Quite alright, I was the Alpha but still I felt Lily was trying to punish me which I totally understand but thinking about it now, I felt like it was a little harsh on me but I had no choice nor any other option.I knew I needed the help of anyone that could have been around the vicinity of the woods that time. I thought of my head guard, Jakob, and had a feeling that he would have an idea what could have happened that night.Once I got home, I sent for Jakob.
We stood in front of Mr James' house and I nodded at Jakob to go ahead and ring the doorbell which he did and we waited for anyone to get the door.Soon after, the door bolt made an opening sound and the door creaked open afterwards. Mr James stepped out and a surprise look broke out in his face."My Alpha...greetings," he bowed slightly."May I have a word with you Mr James?""Of course, My Alpha...please do come in," he offered, stepping away from the door a bit to give me entrance to go in."Not to worry about that...I'm totally alright here and I won't be taking much of your time anyways…" I said.
LIAM'S POVIt took a little while for Lily to walk down the stairs. I was tempted to think she wasn't coming down. Who knows Danny must have told her not to but I felt a bit relieved to see her coming down. There was some sort of awkward air around us the moment she got down. Then she cleared her throat and asked me, "You found them?""Errr… no but I'm close… I have a few questions for you. It would help me a lot…""Questions? Alright then, shoot,""I need to know everything...I mean the enemies and friends of your mother then...was she in some sor
"Oh my! What a surprise, greetings my Alpha…"A woman that looked to be in her human life; early forties offered greetings to Liam. She was totally taken aback by Liam's surprise visit at first and did barely enough to hide her surprise.Liam sized her up, slim with pale skin and deep red lipsticks that shone a little above brightly. Extreme. Curly short pale hair that matched her skin.Liam thought she looked a bit creepy but quickly waved it off as he remembered he came for something and couldn't afford to lose track of himself."Maggie right?" Liam asked, fixing his gaze directly at her."You remember Ms James, don't you?" Liam asked, go
"Alpha Liam…" Helen stuttered inaudibly as she sighted Liam coming towards her in giant steps and long strides. She smelled danger with the way Liam's facial expression held so much anger in it and the dangerous smoke his footsteps released as he walked towards her. He didn't look friendly at all.Liam got to her front and stood there menacingly. His eyes stared daggers and knives at Helen and when he opened his mouth to speak, his words came out with so much venom and burning fire, enough to burn Helen's skin."Did you really believe that Lily killed her mother or did you intentionally lie to me? You had always known you had a mate but lied to me to keep Lily from me? Answer me!" Liam barked at Helen who was already beginning to quiver in fear.
LIAM'S POVI stared out of the window. The warm sensational summer breeze whipping my face, although nice and wonderful, couldn't help my languishing state. I felt so miserable and disheartened after my full discovery. My Alpha wolf felt the most miserable and hurt. Never felt my Alpha aura gone that low and filled with sadness. I guess my regrets ate deep into my wolf form causing my entire form to be covered in abject regret.Truly, Mara and Maggie had killed Lily's mother that night. I fixed the puzzles even before they confessed behind closed doors. I had them arrested and kept in the dungeon and yes they confessed to it all and shamefully asked that they be forgiven. Maybe I would have considered that if I only hadn't made my mate go through so much in my hands. I felt a painful sensation that tightened my chest each time I thought about the whole time I had Lily flogged, thrown in the dungeon and starve
Seeing Lily standing before me got me so tongue tied and I felt my whole body so jittery that I couldn't move neither further nor backwards."Ehem!" She cleared her throat to get my attention after what seemed like forever of silence and a bit of awkwardness that hovered around us.I stared at her for a while."So?" She started off letting her body lean gently on the door handle."Oh, come in…" She said and started to head in while she left the door ajar for me to get in. I shifted my clothes collar as I followed her in quietly. I felt like my tie was suddenly choking me. Phew! Like I hadn't worn it for long and felt totally okay but suddenly, I was feeling tense and sort of light-head
