HIS TRUTH
***********************
NARRATORS POV
***********************
It’s almost a month now since I woke up from my coma according to Justine I was unconscious for two weeks. The problem now is that I can’t remember a thing about my past, even my name.
Justine told me I said my name was Julia when I woke up briefly after two weeks with my memory intact after that day, I had complete memory loss.
I’ve tried to adjust to life in the woods, at first he wouldn’t let me do any work in the house and avoided me as much as he could. After I complained about going crazy staying idle, he allowed me to do some choice, soft work as he called it. But he still avoided me.
With time I’ve grown to like him, he has the kindest eyes I’ve ever seen and when he thinks I'm not looking, he stares at me for so long, I should be creeped out but I love it nonetheless.
We live together but barely talk to each other. I also noticed that he disappears into the woods and comes back at dawn, sometimes I hear the howling of wolves, other times nothing. Justine had never given me a reason to fear him, lately, he tries hard to joggle my memory as if he couldn’t wait to get rid of me. The more he tried the less I remembered, with time he grew tired and let me be.
“Teach me how to build the fire, I need to make myself more useful around here.”
“Don’t worry about that, I will build the fire myself whenever we need to.”
“Stop treating me like a handicap,” I screamed, I was bored out of my senses, I couldn’t remember anything about myself and here I was with this man that wouldn’t say a word to me.
“Later.”
“Now, and stop treating me like am invisible.”
Justine observed Julia for a moment, he knew he had been ignoring her but it was for their good.
He went to the fireplace and though he didn't beckon to her, he knew when she was following him.
Somehow he could pick her scent, mild yet powerful and alluring.
“Place your sticks and twigs together, place dry grass and leaves on the kindling, then light your matches.” immediately the fire shot up.
Julia separated the wood and twigs immediately and tried to build a fire, it was as simple as she thought, determined to succeed, she made a fire on the fourth try. Her shout of triumph was infectious. In her happiness he hugged Justine, when they separated their eyes met, Justine pulled his eyes away immediately afraid of fanning what his heart was beginning to feel for Julia.
“I get my supplies from the market in town, we could go together next time. Who knows we might meet someone that recognizes you.”
“You are such a weakling and fool.” pushing him away she stomped out of the house.
When she didnt come back for hours Justine went in search of her, he had an idea of where she would likely be, and he wasn’t wrong.”
“Can I sit with you?”
“No, you may not.”
Justine sat anyway. He watched her bite her nails, she always did that when she was overwhelmed and he was sorry he was the reason for whatever she was feeling now.
“Do you not want to reconnect with your family, they would be worried about you. It’s almost five months since you left home.” Justine said, moments later. They had both been sitting still just watching the fishes swim in the creek.
“Where is home,” Julia said and threw a branch into the stream making the fishes flutter around.
“We have to at least try and locate your family.”
Julia stared at Justine, she didn’t remember anything about her past but she knew for sure that she loved this man sitting before her, she couldn’t remember if she had loved anyone before but whenever she looked at Justine he literally took her breath away.
“Are you not my family, you saved me from the jaws of death.” her voice was so low, he had to strain his ears to hear her.
“Julia.” his voice was so husky it made her draw her breath. “You can’t stay here with me.”
“Why?” her eyes clouded.
“There are things you don’t know about me.”
“Then tell me.”
“It would freak you out, im sorry you won’t be able to handle it.”
“Here we go again, allow me to be the judge of that, stop making decisions for me.” her eyes narrowed, an exasperated sigh escaped her lips
“Im not who you think I am.”
“What I know is enough for me.”
“What do you know.” Justine wondered if she knew already
“That you are the kindest man ever.” she smiled shyly at him, but Justine only frowned.
“You are so naive.” he broke a blade of grass absent-minded. It would not be easy explaining this to Julia, it would have been better if she just left.
“Have you recollected any old memory this past few days?’ Justine asked.
Shaking her head she started walking away without replying to him.
“Where are you going to.” he hurried after her.
“Far away from you.”
“Watch out.” but it was too late, she fell with a loud thud and broke her leg.
“You must learn to stop acting in anger.” Justine tried to lift her.
“Let go of me.” she swung his hands away. Julia could have swi=one that someone had said this to her before if only she remembered something, anything. Justine was never going to want to be with her, it was a sad reality she had to accept/
“Ouch.” she fell back in pain.
Ignoring her tantrums, Justine lifted her, her smell filled his senses, their eyes met and locked. Mesmerized by her eyes, her sensuous lips parted as though she had something to say. He tried his best to look away, he had to take her to the cabin quickly, he shouldn’t be what he was about to do. But his head had lost control of his heart, he bent over and kissed her. She didnt resist him but welcomed the kiss, he loved how she tasted like wild blueberry, her breath felt warm on his face. The kiss was brief but the impression on their heart was forever.
“Im sorry.” he started walking towards the cabin. “Please forgive me I didnt know what came over me.”
“I love you Justine.” she wished he would look at her.
“You don’t know what you are talking about,”
This made Julia angry and sad at the same time, unable to control her emotions she wept. Thankfully they had reached their cabin and with care, he placed her on the bed and went to build a fire. She was so furious at him for ignoring her even though she had cried. She buried her head in the pillow and wept.
“I was once married.” Julia stood up immediately, surprised to hear him speak. “She fell ill and died suddenly. It was so fast we didnt say goodbye. One minute we were laughing the next she was fighting for her life.
“Im sorry.” was all Julia could mutter.
“There is something else.” he hesitated. “I am a werewolf.” he waited for her to scream but when she didnt say anything, Justine probed her.
“You are not saying anything.”
“I know already.’ she blinked back her tears
“How and when” Justine stood rigidly unable to move, he didn't know if he should happy or worried
“I just knew, I noticed you usually left the house at midnight, and also the howling followed as soon as you left.”
“Are you not worried about it? I mean my being a wolf and all that.”
“At first I was afraid.” she replied truthfully “but now, I think it's cool.” she smiled sheepishly
“Oh,'' Justine muttered, he never thought he would admire any woman or find a mate ever again, but here he was gushing over this human sitting on his bed with his fur blanket wrapped around her.
LOSSThe excruciating pain that Phoebe felt around her waist after her wedding was indescribable. Balthazar became worried and afraid that he might lose his wife. The pain made her sweat profusely and she began to emit a bad odor, this made them more afraid and they consulted with the pack's doctor who ran some tests on Phoebe and his diagnosis made them tear up.“There is a poisonous substance in her system and the only herb that can counter the poison can kill the baby.” Dr. zain said.“What baby.”“Your wife is a few weeks pregnant, I doubt she is aware of this.” the doctor replied.Balthazar's body shook with sobs, “mother goddess, pro
“I can’t believe we are going to be parents soon.” he gently rubbed his open palms over her bulging stomach. “It looks like the moon,” Justine said laughing.“Stop trolling me,” Julia growled, she loved him so much. He had shaved his beards which he kept as a sign of respect when he mourned his first wife but since falling in love again he knew it was time to let go of his pain and embrace the happiness and joy that found him.“Thank you,” Justine became suddenly serious. The intensity in his eyes made his pupils dilate and change color. This used to scare her but not anymore.“Why are you thanking me.” she removed the stubborn strand of hair that fell over his face.&
BROKEN************Julia’s pov************I woke up disoriented, the room I found myself in looked strange. Lifting myself with my elbows, I looked around the room. The smell of fresh air filled the room from the open windows which were beautifully decorated with flowery white drapes. As I tried to recollect my thoughts I heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming towards me and panicked.‘You are awake.” the lady said to me, clutching my hands gently. She had the sweetest voice and kindest eyes, her red hair made her eyes appear huge.I only stared at he
THE SEARCH****************Narrator’s pov****************Balthazar, his beta Demetrius, and some warriors in the pack all headed out to the woods following the direction Julia gave him earlier. He had a nagging fear that her husband was already dead but he intended to be sure and also search out for the rogue wolves and ensure that they are punished. They all left at dawn, with their spears in hand and some food provisions and canteens of water. Balthazar didn't expect to stay more than a day in the woods if things went well. The journey to Just
SHATTEREDJulia knew something was wrong immediately, phoebe and Balthazar walked into the room. She had been sitting up and was almost through with the cup of hot chocolate tea she had requested for breakfast.Phoebe’s sad eyes and drawn face gave her away, she couldn’t get herself to wear a fake smile and act as if nothing had happened. Julia immediately kept her mug on the table beside her, swallowing hard she asked. “Any news, did you find Justine.” her eyes flickered from phoebe's face to Balthazar, hoping they wouldn't say what her heart was telling her they would.“You need to stay calm.” Phoebe held her hands and asked her to relax. “Everything would be alright.” she insisted&ldquo
UNTO US Phoebe could sense that something was wrong as soon as they came back from the river where Julia dispatched her husband's ashes. She had chosen to pour the ashes on her body then immersed herself into the stream to wash off. Phoebe had been against it. She was afraid that she might catch a cold or even something worse. But Julia had insisted on making her own decisions and no one had the willpower to stop a grieving wife. The African warrior who had gone with Balthazar in search of Justine had gone with them and Demetrius had not been able to come; he had gone on a trip to make more findings on the rogue wolves. According to him, he was doing it to ensure that their pack does not fall victim to them. Balthazar liked the idea and permitted him to go. He left at dawn hours befor
UNBECOMING Julia's body was washed and dressed in preparation for her burial. She had asked to be cremated and her ashes poured into the same river just like her husband. Phoebe had not taken her seriously when she made the request, she had not expected her to die so soon and suddenly. The series of misfortune that had befallen them over the past months made her numb. “We would conduct a purification ceremony after Julia's burial. We need to appease the gods and cleanse ourselves, maybe our misfortunes will end.`` Phoebe informed her husband. “I couldn't agree more, but a miracle came out of all this.’ “What miracle do you speak of,” sh
SACRIFICIAL LAMB ******************************** ALPHA BALTHAZAR'S POV ******************************** Getting a year-old lamb with no defect turned out to become mission impossible. It was either the year-old lambs had defects and the perfect ones were above a year. What intrigued me the most was the scarcity of the said animal which had never happened before. When I enquired from the farmers if they could direct me to a popular breeder within our neighborhood, I was directed to a small pack a few miles from ours. When I got to the farm, I was informed of an ambush that happened a few hours before I arrived. From the deep cuts and the way the paws of the creatures that attacked the animals, we w
S“My queen.” Sebastian smiled as he approached Mara. Mara stood transfixed as she was mesmerized by the man standing before her. He was the most beautiful man she had ever seen in her life.“Finally you are here.” he held her hands and kissed her fingers. “Time to go home, where you belong.” he held her hands and let her back towards the ocean.Czar watched them in confusion, everything was happening so fast, and ‘who was this fine-looking man’ -he wondered.“What's going on here, and where are you taking her to?” Czar blocked his part as he spoke, it took all his strength not to fall for Sebastian's charm.
CZARS’ POVI Stared at the rogue before me, weighing his words and trying hard to convince myself that what he was saying was false, but failing miserably. It was not as if I was not aware that the pack hated me but to want me dead was so new and frightening to me. Also, no one knew I was out here except for the enchantress and possibly the beta and council of elders.Feeling defeated and strained, I crouched beside a huge tree with my head bent over my thighs. Indecisive about my next plan of action, to make things worse I was beginning to doubt the essence of this mission I was sent on, what if it was a plow to get me out of the pack so I could be killed or worse my parents could be in danger.Or maybe they wanted me killed so I would not su

THEY METCZAR’S POV“What are you doing here?” I asked once I got my balance and stood firmly on the damp ground.“I should be asking you the same.” She retorts back at me before bending her head over her knees.“You would have been dead by now, all it would take is just a strike from me,” I say to her, she just missed being struck by a stroke of luck. Looking at her bent-over the frame I just could not fathom why she was in this part of the forest, and from the way she looked she had been here longer than I was and was still alive. Mystery or luck- I wonder.“And who says I'
SEEKERBalthazar's health continued to deteriorate. He was supposed to get better according to the doctor but rather than get better; he got worse. His nerves shook involuntarily and when he tried to shift, it was so painful, worse than it was when he shifted for the first time. His luna phoebe was so worried that she called the attention of the packs’ enchantress.“He is under a curse.” the sorceress claimed immediately as she stepped into the alpha’s bedroom“You must be joking, what is it with you and curses,” Balthazar replied, irritated by her remark“You have angered the gods, you spilled the blood of an innocent child, a gifted one chosen by the gods.” the sorceress conti

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THE PRESENT TIME Czar knew that even though his adoptive parents loved and treated him as their son, it was an entirely different thing concerning the mountain pride pack. He was still like an outcast to most of them. Only a few accepted him and treated him with respect even when he had proven without a doubt that he was capable and able to defend the territory, people, and border of the pack. His only physical flaw was that he limped, a defect that he had no control over yet, he was judged because of it. His mother was human and his father a rogue omega wolf, this made him a hybrid wolf, making it more difficult for him to gain the respect and love of his kinsmen. Even with his disability, he was a much better warrior, he fought fiercely in every battle and was not scared to die. Dying did no
EMERALD PACK THE PROPHECY. A long time ago, the emerald pack was richly blessed with emeralds from where its name was gotten from. It was a populous pack and had more she-wolves than he-wolves. The females were given tasks equal to the men. They had female warriors, hunters and were among the council of elders. Their strength was mostly in their numbers and they were efficient, nothing was left to chance. A prophecy was once made that the greatest sorceress would be from the pack and it was almost twenty years now and even though they had female enchantresses none has been able to prove their worthiness as the greatest. Mara was the great-granddaughter of the park's enchantress who died many years ago and after her death
