Demons had been arch enemies of the fae kind since the Victorian age. It wouldn't be surprising if they took Kristy.
Somehow, it all made sense. Kristy and I were attacked by a reanimated corpse inhabited by a demon. My mother was murdered that same night by the demon king.
"Are you still there?" Frank waved at me.
"I have to go." I rushed and took my phone to leave.
Frank held my hands, stopping me from leaving.
"Kristy if you need my help, I'm always here."
I thanked him not taking his words wholeheartedly and left.
I went back to Kristy's apartment. The feeling of emptiness hung like a cloud over my head.
I was trying to find a reasonable explanation for demons to enter an apartment without being recognized. Unless it was the demon king who could take the form of a human being. His horde had to possess a container without a soul. Sometimes of the soul had been sold off, they could take possession of a proper body but that wouldn't change the odd color their eyes would give.
It occurred to me I should ask Kristy's neighbor if they heard an odd sound but I had to be careful not to reveal too much. It put them and me at risk o being cleaned.
I was still buried in my thoughts when a lady walked up to me.
It was the lady I had bumped into earlier.
Redhead, thin like a broomstick figure and a petite face blessed with a pale skin tone.
"Hey."
My head began to picture how I would ask her questions.
"Kristy, You smell different. I suggest you stop using whatever antiperspirant you bought."
It was funny she said that. I didn't use anything special on my skin except for my cheap lotion. I saw it as an extravagance.
"I'm not Kristy," I revealed taking a small risk.
"Oh, so you're are a twin? Kristy never told me she had a twin sister."
Good. She had a relationship with Kristy.
"Did you know Kristy personally?"
"Of course. We've helped ourselves a lot."
That got my attention.
"In what way?"
The woman turned around in a swift manner,
"We can't say that here. We don't want the cleaners after us."
Faes always knew their kind and even if I wasn't the most blessed. I had to know who from who. It came more like a shock that the redhead knew what cleaners were.
Another fearful line popped into my head.
"Did Kristy reveal supernaturals to her?"
"What are you?" I asked as she directed me to her room where we were going for our talk.
"A vampire. Isn't it obvious?" She answered
I forgot the obvious. She had pale white skin and wore black overalls that even made her look thinner and she definitely hadn't had a good drink lately.
"My sister was friends with you?" I asked still unsure.
We had gotten to her apartment. Number 45 in the magnificent building. Even closed, the door had the stench of booze, blood, and air fresheners all mixed up to gone a more nose wrenching smell.
Vampires weren't the friendliest and mostly kept to themselves which is what I'd do if it was guaranteed I'd live forever.
Plus I didn't know what I was doing here. Faeblood was like cocaine to vampires and most would kill for just a sip.
I hadn't had my bottle of sun spray here and it eas like walking into a mousetrap but I believed my premonitions. There were no bad vibes here and I was pretty sure it wouldn't want to die too.
The door opened and I was caught by the gory sight of... I just put it straight. Vampires had gotten advanced and now loved in flocks. Even if they weren't hunted actively by other races except when provoked, They had hunters on their backs.
Except her flock was busy. The bloodletting and draining of human blood made me sick to the stomach. The victim wore a with the emblem of a dancing pizza.
They had ordered pizza and chosen him instead. I felt sorry for him but I dared not intrude.
"Sorry. My girls hadn't had a decent meal all week. The hunters were hot on our track so you know."
"Are you going to drain him?" My lips muttered, out of my control.
"Of course not. We'll keep though for a week."
"Have a seat." She offered.
I sat and the vamps all turned to me. I felt like a lamb about to be slaughtered by a pack of hyenas.
"So what's your name? Kristina? I'm Rose by the way."
"Valerie."
"I thought identical twins had similar names," Rose stated.
I wish I could explain to her that my father wanted me to be completely ostracized. So much that he didn't give me and Kristy the traditional twin names.
I didn't see much similarity in me and Kristy however.
We only shared a face and that was it
"You said you knew Kristy. I just wanted to know if she had friends, a boyfriend perhaps."
The girls sent weird glances at each other before Rose said,
"Why do you care big sis?"
The girls giggled. It was a small joke but it was getting on my nerves but knowing they what I wanted, I acted cool.
"No. It's nothing like that. It's just that Kristy is missing."
They instantly gave me the "Oh my God!" Look.
"What happened?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out and if you can give me anything. I'll be grateful."
Rose cracked a bit before saying,
"I know something."
The words brightened my mood and I gave a smile.
"So what Is it?"
Her sly smile informed me she had something else in store.
"We just need a little favour.-
A favor! Typical vampire.
"What favor?"
"Your blood."
The smartest move. Like I said before. Fae blood was like crack. It enhanced vampire abilities ten times better. It was why I was a target but at least they were asking for permission.
"Deal. One pint."
"No. Two."
What the... Did they want to drain me?
Kristy was so owing me.
"Ok. Now tell me what you know and it better be worth it!"
My empty words got to them better than I thought and they got talking.
"We weren't really close to your sister but a month ago. She came to ask for sanctuary. We wondered why but she wanted protection from someone who was after her."
What had Kristy gotten herself into?
"Did she say why she was being hunted? Who was after her?" I breathlessly spat.
"Hey calm down Princess. We'll get to that."
"She offered us her blood and you know, We couldn't refuse. A week after, we came face to face with the man stalking her. It was an intense battle but we won. He learned his lesson but you know Alphas."
"Alphas? I'm sorry did you just mention a werewolf?"
Werewolves like other supernatural kinda had beef with faes. It had been existing from the first generation. The moon goddess and the Queen of Unseelie who happened to be sisters.
"Yes. Apparently, Alpha McCoy wanted a relationship with her but she refused so he resorted to stalking her."
I was shaking at this Revelation. Kristy had a life I didn't even know about. I never knew she was this secretive.
An Alpha of a notorious pack known for Breaking the rules was stalking her for a month or more and she didn't deem it fit to tell me. Was I that pathetic?
"So this Alpha McCoy, Do you know when I can find him?"
"We have no idea but we've helped you. Now we want our pay."
I was given a glistening kitchen knife for the job.
OMG! This was going to hurt.

I put a call through to the court.
"Hello. I found another clue."
"I'm sorry Ms. Swanson but the court doesn't want to discuss your sister's case with you anymore."
Before I could complain, she cut it.
Bitch!, I screamed into the phone.
I had to everything myself, didn't I?
I sent a text to my father just in case I didn't return like Kristy.
I remembered Frank's words and I was grateful I remembered. I just hoped he would of help.
Are you crazy?" Frank yelled over the line.Truth is I felt the same way but there was no way I was going to know more if I did not track my sister."Will you help me, Frank?""I will but I'm following you."The more, the safer, I thought.
I had to admit. It was a fairly good idea. All I needed was a load of cash to stuff into their faces and a trigger.Seers were the only beings who could be bought easily with money no.matrer what destruction their revelation could cause."That's a very bad idea. You know how it works." Frank warned.I knew it was. There was always a catch to look into the past or even the future.
Do you believe him?" I asked Frank on the way out.I refused to believe Kristy would just give out what mother left her as heirloom a day after."Well, I don't think he lied. Lucia Amore is also a prized student of the Radiant court."That was a clue. Kristy was also a prized student and perhaps there was a connection.
My head hurt when I opened them. I was face down and covered in dried blood. My blurred eyesight cleared and I got the stamina to rise up.The room was in a mess. All the glassware left as smithereens. Dad was on the floor. A huge shard of glass embedded in his chest. I forgot the state the room was in and rushed to his side."Father!"I put a finger to his nostrils and felt them turn moist.
"Is this how the court that's supposed to be helping acts! Nonchalant!" I ranted. The one in the middle got to her feet and approached me."Watch your tongue child!" She sternly warned.Frank was also making eye signals in hopes to get me to stop talking but there was something about my tongue when it was let loose.
"What part of the business? You clearly state you wanted to be trapped with me—and you have that already.""Not if you won't talk to me."His warm moisture on my neck."So you want to be friends?" I asked."Something like that."
"Wow! Your earrings look beautiful. Where did you get them from?"Elle seemed a bit suspicious of my motivation but not that much."A gift." She said, not wanting more of the conversation about her earrings.I could see it in her expression, it like she knew I was bad news."So I heard about your
She freaking knew what happened to my sister or where she was.A part of me just wanted to burst in and strangle her until she told me where to find Kristy but that would be unwise.I had no idea what I was up against and it hurt more that I hadn't recorded her conversation of the phone.I checked my pants which Elle made me ruin.
The sequel of The other one will officially be published soon. It's titled Alpha Tinders. Here is the blurb...It's been two years since Valerie fell but I still can't let go of her memories.***When the moon goddess taunts McCoy by instating another HEAT. McCoy meets a 'Second'. He isn't supposed to get one, not after his betrayal. It had to be another taunt and worse... a male Nephilim.
McCoyIs it true when the world means nothing if you can share it with your love? It had to be true I felt it. I felt empty, A shell of who I was and frankly, I didn't know If I was to feel. But one thing was sure. I was shattered. I held on to my beloved's last words and trailed back to the dark ends of Fayash memorial. The factions filled the air with screams of joy. They were actually celebrating. Someone died! and the worst part was, most of them didn't even know her name neither did they give a fuck about the simple girl who just wanted to save her sister. A mission that cost her existence. My eyes glimmered as the
I woke up feeling someone pulling my arm."Valerie," Kristy called, her voice barely audible.I could tell we were out of the hell dimension but it was awfully quiet."He's hurting them," Kristy mumbled, her eyes now closing.I used the last strength reserved in me to get up.
The Queen didn't sincerely care for my well being. The only reason I was still breathing was because Kroni's life force was in me. It was too good to believe she would care for me after all the pain I had caused. The moon goddess strayed away from me and faced her sister."Is that why you've kept her alive?""Yes." She confessed, "It was hard on me trapping him there. I can't kill him."
"How did it go?" McCoy asked immediately I got out."To be Frank, I didn't get answers. I'd say I was better off not knowing anything." I confessed. He smiled nervously then his face turned serious again. I could already guess what he wanted to say."I still don't think you should do this. I support you fully but a part of me is still holding me back." He said."I understand McCoy. For a brief minute, I think I'm crazy. I know how this might end but I can't let others suffer for my sake."
"Why are we here?" I questioned. He was silent but I could still feel him inside me."Hello?"A wall of air passed right through me and 'he' stood menacingly over me."We are here to set Kristy free."
The dark liquid splattered making a beautiful mess. Maybe it was what I envisioned but damn, I was disappointed. I got up and listened hoping my hearing would pick up anything out of the ordinary. There was absolutely nothing. I went against reasoning and punctured my skin letting out blood. Like before, nothing happened. Then I gave up and tossed the needle out of my reach. It hit the mirrored image far off and drop to the floor. I stared at the needle for a minute before returning to the mirrored image. It was smiling at me. That was the strange thing, I wasn't smiling.
When the drugs wore off, I could begin to make out where I was. I was face up and the only image I could see was me. Dazed, I got up. My movement was restricted by the helion played chains that kept me in check. It then dawned to me that I was in purgatory. I got to my feet and struggled to rip away the chains off my hands."Who's there! Somebody! Help me!"Echoes of my screams returned sounding like someone was mocking me. The memories of Frank being the one to hunt me down remained afresh in my memory, I couldn't get why he would ever do anything to hurt me. He was the kind of person that supported me even in my dark t
Corson rose, His feathery gift weighing him down."What did you do?"He inquired, twisting his head behind."What he hasn't given you for a lifetime," I replied, proud of the work I had done."Take it back!""Corson I know you don't want that," I said hesitantly, I had to be composed of I was still going with
