Futile resistance

Lucy and Robin both return home by taxi.

When he reached home, he carried her on his back and brought her to their room. He opens the door with one hand and walks in.

He placed her gently on the bed and lied her down making sure that her head was resting on the pillow.

Then, he sat beside hers and traced her face with his hands, watching her sleeping soundly.

“Why did that guy have to come today? He messed everything up.”

He removed his hand and pulled the covers up to her chest.

He sat there and looked in the other direction, going all quiet.

“It’s late, I should let her sleep.” He got up from there to turn off the lights only to be pulled by a hand stopping him from going anywhere.

He glanced downwards to see Lucy holding onto his hand.

“Don’t go,” she murmured in her sleep.

Seeing this, he stayed beside her till she fell asleep. He patted her head to give her comfort.

When she fell asleep he tried to remove his hand, but her hold was strong.

“What am I going to do now?”
