Defending him

Lucy goes inside the office and searches for the people in her team.

She checks her watch, “They were supposed to arrive by 8. Why haven’t they shown up already?”.

She hops into the elevator, with crossed arms.

Her eyes suddenly drop down to the injury on her hand.

“The pain is still intact. Is this not going to heal forever?”.

The next floor came, and the doors opened.

A figure rushed inside in a hurry.

“Phew, I made it in time.”

Lucy recognized the voice and turns to see Julia panting.

Her hair is wavy and in a mess, probably from running around too much.

“Finishing work?” Lucy comments.

Julia gazed at her and looked away, “Yeah, kind of, I had pushed down all the work on my team, so now they are kind of mad at me, and I have to work extra hard for the work that I didn’t do yesterday.”

“No wonder you are in a hurry.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”.

“Nothing.”

The next stop came and Lucy gets off.

“Damn, that Lucy.”
