Rhea’s POV

“I have the exact coordinates of the demon lair. When shall we attack them?” Artemis asked. She looked ready for the hunt. She was the Goddess of the hunt, after all.

“We should wait and plan properly. I think we should ask Mercy to join us. She is extremely powerful, and having her on our side will help us win against the demons. If she is okay with it, we shall plan the attack at twilight because after that time they would get out of their lairs and lurk in the streets. We have to catch them before they go out,” I said.

I frowned when I saw Adrian and Artemis both looking at me with identical expressions of disbelief. Were these two long-lost siblings or something? And why were they looking at me like that? Did I say something stupid again? I thought over what I had spoken and didn’t feel anything wrong with it.

“What?” I asked in exasperation.

“Are you fine, Rhea? Did y

Rhea’s POVI would have loved to say that we made a layout of the building and prepared perfect plans for the attack. And we approached the building from separate corners stealthily while entering the building. Then we finished off demons one by one without alerting the rest to our presence, just like in a James Bond movie. But I would be lying if I say that because in reality,

Rhea’s POV I ran out of the building and saw the demon disappear behind a corner. Without hesitating, I bolted behind the demon. I turned the corner in pursuit of the demon and found it turning behind another corner. Without wasting time, I sprinted and thanked Adrian for making me workout daily. I was not huffing and puffing like I usually do even after all the running. I found the demon hovering over a few feet away. I slowed down and approached with caution. Why did it stop suddenly? I reached near the demon and it started making high-pitched screeching noises? Was it cursing me or begging me to leave it alone? I shrugged and tried to think of what to do? I had a demon in front of me, but how would I capture it? I couldn’t touch it, and spells didn’t work on it. Then what else could I do? I had followed the demon, hoping that I would get some amazing inspirational idea to catch it. But right now,

Rhea’s POV I opened my eyes groggily and stretched out my limbs. Ouch! I winced as I felt pain radiate through my body. Why was I feeling as if I was run over by a train? Then the events that transpired came into my memory one by one… Going to the demon lair, hunting the demons, chasing the last demon and trapping him, being attacked by the rest of the demons and finally my wolf saviour and Artemis coming to my rescue… I sat up on the bed suddenly and felt dizzy for a moment. Once In could focus my eyes again, I saw Adrian standing there and looking at me with an anxious expression. It felt like déjà vu and I remembered waking up like this in his for the first time like this after a similar situation. “We have to stop meeting like this,” I joked and cleared my throat when I felt my voice break. My throat was as dry as the desert. How long had I been out this time? I was feeling like a pansy who fainted now and then.

Rhea’s POVThen my excitement dimmed a little as I thought of Adrian. He was treating me as if I was a fragile little princess made of glass. I was not sure if he would let me go to the demon after what happened yesterday. And I didn’t have the heart to go against him when I remembered the anguish on his face.Seeing my miserable look, Mercy let out a laugh. I frowned at her in question.“Relax. Adrian already knows that you won’t rest until you get to meet the demon. He had already asked me to bring you to the basement. He would meet us there.”I smiled as I heard her words. That man knew me so well!“What are we waiting for? Let’s go!” I declared.Mercy looked me up and down before raising her brows at me.I sighed as I realised that she wanted me to dress up for questioning the demon. Unbelievable! Was she afraid I would kill the demon

Rhea’s POVI knocked on the glass, diverting the demon’s attention from Adrian towards me. When it saw me, it lost its playful attitude.“You! I remember you! Trapped me! Will kill you!!” it hissed at me.It was weird to hear the creature speak, but I didn’t show how peeved out I was. Instead, I put on a brave face and stared at the demon fiercely.“It would be in your best interest to spill every secret you know, and we will just send you to the Otherworld. Else, we will send you directly to the Underworld,” I bluffed. The demon snarled at me in response. Then it continued to ignore us. This creature was getting on my nerves. We really needed to figure out a better way to make it talk. It didn’t appear to be particularly happy inside the cage, but it was not desperate to escape too. I had thought that the shadow demons were a bunch of creatures without any intelligence, a

Rhea’s POVFor a moment, I felt guilty for using such a tactic on the demon. Then I told myself that when the Goddess of vengeance gives visions, it would be about those who were wronged by the person. So, the demon must have seen something like the spirits of every person whom he had killed, swooping in for vengeance. Nothing to be guilty of…I stared at the demon which was still quivering in terror. With a sigh, I focused on my powers and made the hallucinations stop. The demon fell onto the floor and continued wailing. The creature was making it hard for me to stop feeling guilty. I would have felt better if it started cursing me the moment I stopped the vision.I cleared my throat, and the demon snapped its attention towards me. It stopped wailing and held still, as if I would start torturing it with the vision again. Damn it! I was feeling like the worst bully ever.I turned towards Adrian with my heart in my throat, afraid of his

Rhea’s POV“What is your master planning to do on Samhain?” I asked once more when the demon hesitated to answer. This thing was seriously getting on my nerves!“To open the Gates!” the demon screeched.I frowned, trying to understand what the demon was speaking about. Gates? Did it mean the Gates between the Earth and the Otherworld? But Adrian already told me that the Gates between the Earth and the Otherworld would open on the eve of Samhain every year. It didn’t have anything to do with Samael as far as I knew. This was so confusing!“What Gates?” Adrian asked. The demon ignored his question and continued staring at me with rapt attention. Adrian growled at it and the sound was so animalistic and terrifying to say the least. But the demon didn’t even bother to spare a glance at him. Oh, the nerve of that stupid creature!“Answer him!&rd

Rhea’s POVI looked at Mercy with confusion as she stared into space with a thoughtful look.“I am not sure, but I think it was because of your energy caging the demon. When the demon was pulled into the Gate, the binding was also pulled in. I think the Gate recognised the energy as a part of you and tried to pull you in too,” she said. Her words made sense, but it was painting the Gate as a sentient being. I shuddered as I remembered the Gate getting closed. Now that I think of it, it sounded pissed off when it couldn’t get me…“It was my fault! While doing summoning and banishments, we have to draw a circle of salt to keep the evil inside it. I didn’t put up a ward or the salt circle because your cage was so powerful and I was confident that the demon couldn’t escape from it. I never considered the possibility that without the ward, you may be pulled in because of the
