Chapter four

                              (Simion POV)

Sitting here late in the evening in my office trying to think of my next plan to help my mom. She's been ill for ten years now. Not one doctor can find a reason why for her illness. When she first became ill, we all thought it was just a cold. After a few months it became worse and doctors thought it might be Pneumonia. As more months go by and my mother gets worse. Her coughs become wheezing with other issues, after years of this she begins having heart problems. Doctors don't know what is causing these conditions or how to fix them. They do tell me if I don't find something or someone that can help her that she will not last this year, they are surprise she lived this long. For a long time my sister has been the one caring for her  24/7, and that's why I asked Mariana Rebreanu to help her out. She been my sisters childhood friend and my Gamma Darius sister. I need to find someone who not only be able to tell me what is wrong with my mom, but also can cure her. As I go through all the paperwork on my desk trying to get everything together. There was a light knock on the door. I hate being bother while I'm working in my office. It better be important or someone is going to be punish.

"WHO IS IT? I growled"

"Its me, Mariana." She slowly opens the door to walk in. "I came by to tell you that your mom is sleeping well right now and that your sister Nicky is with her now."

"Thanks, and if that is all than I wish you a good night." I don't even look at her hopping she gets the idea that I'm much too busy to talk.

"Um, I know you been busy with all the packs business and looking for a way to help your mom." She pauses as if shes trying to find the right words. I'm still not making any eye contact, just keeping my eyes on my work wondering why she's not taking the hint to leave. "I can tell things has been stressful to you. I was hoping I could help you to relax."

She walks behind me as she put her hands on my shoulder and starts to massage them. I'm not saying she is bad looking girl and I know there are many guys who would jump to get a chance like this, but she's not my mate.

'Get her off us now, or I'm going to rip her throat out!'

'We can't, she's Darius sister.'

'So, you're going to let her keep touching us? Are you forgetting the promise you made to me and your mom?'

'I haven't forgotten my promises!'

'Then get her off us or I'll take care of her myself.'

I haven't forgotten my promise, annoying wolf. I better stop her before she takes my silence the wrong way. A growl coming out of my mouth knowing my wolf is fighting to get out.

"Mariana! Take your hands off me now and get the hell out of my office. You're not my mate, so don't touch me in such a way." I growled even louder, but she wasn't listening to me. Instead of leaving she wraps her arms around my neck while her lips are inches away from my ear.

"Come on Simion, there is no reason why we can't have a little fun together." That's it, I know I lost control of my wolf because I know my eyes just turned a golden brown. Before I knew it, my hand was around her throat.

"Can't you get it through your head that you're not my mate. Don't you dare touch me, because I'll not tolerated disrespect from you toward your alpha and king." Her eyes widen with fear, finally she was understanding her place. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, but I'm not going to feel guilty for her lack of respect toward me.

"Now get out before I let my wolf out to take care of you. Also, I'll be looking for someone else to be helping Nicky to take care of my mother. You need to stay out of my sight. Now go!" She runs out of the room as I watch Lucian my Beta walk in with a confused look on his face and letter in his right hand.

"Sims, what's that about?" He points toward the way Mariana ran off.

"Another girl who thinks she can get into my bed." I sit and grab at my glass of Bourbon. I don't usually drink while I'm working, but I damn well needed it now. "Alright Luc, why are you here bothering me?" He comes over to me and hands me a letter.

"What's this?"

"It's an invention to the ball in America. The king there is holding an event for the twin girls who just turned eighteen." Yeah most likely to find their mates. I don't have time for this right now.

"Get a hold of King Gabriel, let him know that I won't be attending the event and send him my apologize as well."

"Why not Sims? One of his daughters could be your mate. You need your mate and the pack needs their Luna".

"I don't have the time for this Luc!"

'We need our mate. You will go and keep your promise to us.'

'Just shut up! There are more important things I need to do at this time.'

'You promise me and your mom that you will find our mate no matter what, and before she takes her last breath.'

Damn wolf is right, I did promise her that I will not only be married but give her a grandchild while she is still living.

"I can't leave my mom right now Luc when she needs me."

"listen to me Sims." He walks over to stand next to me. "You do remember King Gabriel wife?"

"Yes, Queen Skylar. What about her?"

"I heard from my cousin's mate that the Queen is not a pure wolf. She was given to her adopted parents by the moon Goddess herself. There also talk about her being half angel with the gift to heal. Like to be able to heal your mother."

"You're sure of this Luc?"

"My cousin mate is from that pack and he worked for the family. He was one of the Queens personal guard and seen it for himself of her healing the King." I know I still have my doubt, but I felt I had no choice. Not only would I be passing the chance to find my mate, but also finding a way to help my mom.

"Fine, get a hold of them and let them know that I'll be attending the ball. Now please go make the arrangement with my private plane. When will this be taking place so I can get ready myself?"

"Well the event will be in ten days, but we will be leaving seven days." My eyebrows raised in what he said.

"Why are we going to be there a few days earlier?"

"They have been trying to get us to go there since you became King for a sit down for a talk of alliance between the two countries. Sadly, you kept turning it down." I guess he was right about that. I havent been very active of communicating with countries like I should have been.

"Alright, please take care of the arrangements. You and Darius will be going with me. I'll have my brother Nicolas take care of things while I'm gone." Before anything else was said the door slammed open with my sister in the door.

"What the hell did you do my idiot brother? Why is Mariana crying?" A growl came out of me as I stare at my little sister, but she just stared back at me without even a flinch of fear.

"You will show me respect Nicky. I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone else. Do you understand me?"

"She was so upset. What did you say to her?" She stares me down with anger.

"I told you that it's not any of your business." She kept staring at me. I couldnt take it anymore. Fine if she really wants to know.

"I just told her the truth that she isn't my mate. She needs to respect that and move on. So, if you don't mind, I need to get back to work." I walk back to my desk hoping she'll get the hint to leave.

"You couldn't just let her down easy?"

"NO! She wasn't listening and my wolf wanted to rip her apart if I let her keep going." I snorted at her and she finally backs down. She sighs as she sits on the couch.

"So, Sims I'll make the necessary arrangements to leave in a week."

"Yes, please do so Luc."

"Where are you going brother dear?"

"Simion, Darius and I are going to a special event in an America."

"Oh, brother dear, may I go as well. I haven't been anywhere in a long time." I gave her annoyed look. "Please, please Sims." I know she been so busy with my mom, needs time for some fun and time to look for her mate as well.

"Fine Nicky. Just find someone to take care of mom while you're gone."

"Thanks, so much Sims. I can ask Irina and Rahela to take care of her while I'm gone."

"Yes, that will be acceptable. Now please make sure you're ready." I sat and hoping this trip will be worth my time and not bite me in the butt.
