The castle

We were on the road to Pittsburgh for about two hours. I drove fast with Lucian giving me directions.

When we got to Pittsburgh, he directed me to a very lonely path which looked like it led in to the deep woods, so I steered the car away from the highway and drove into the woods.

I drove in it for most part of the journey and marveled at how extremely hidden their castle must be.

I thought how it is no different from my pack, carefully hidden from the eyes of the human specie to separate the two different worlds.

After driving for about up to two hours in the woods without meeting any other car or person on the way, we finally got near the grounds of the castle.

Suddenly, the weather changed from very warm to extremely cold. It was a warm day, that is why I dressed light when we started the journey and it was warm some minutes ago, how come it's now as cold as Arctic region now? I thought. That's weird, I thought.

I looked sideways and saw that Hera and the others did not

In the dungeonThe guards led us into the underground of the castle where the dungeons apparently are.I exchanged glances with Hera and linked her."what's the way forward Hera?" I sent into her head, not wanting to ask aloud so as not to alert the guards to our plans."don't know yet...but trust me, taking us to the dungeon is a good thing" she linked me back, nodding her head.I was confused, how is this a good thing? wouldn't it have been better if we handled the guards and go straight to the vampire lord?"No, that will be a very bad idea, Tys" she said, reading my mind "My father would be very cranky right now and any mistake we make would be a great disaster. We must not presume to be on the same level as him, he's very dangerous, Ty's, very and very unpredictable" Hera said."so what are we going to do then?" I asked "we wait. The commander of my father's force who is actually my brother would soon be here. When he comes, we will know what will happen" Hera replied in my head.

Siblings' love"Arrax" shouted Hera excitedly as she saw her brother. Arrax who hadn't known how much he had missed his little sister felt his heart pound with joy at the sound of her voice. In less than one minute, he registered the fact that she was not the only one in the cell, a woman he didn't recognize was also there with her. She was petite, and very beautiful with blonde hair and blue eyes. Arrax wondered who she was. In the next cell, next to Hera's cell was the most breath taking sight Arrax had ever seen, there stood a man at least six foot five inches tall with long brown hair and the bluest captivating eyes he had ever seen. He was not muscled, he was just lean with broad shoulders, but it was obvious that he was extremely strong and had such a powerful aura about him. He did not look like a vampire, yet he did not look ordinary either. Arrax had never in his entire life felt such a powerful aura from anybody. Who was he and what was he doing here? Arrax wondered. He

The vampire lordAs we approached the great Hall, I felt my heart pound with fear.Fear for how my father would react to the whole thing.Would he be understanding? Would he refuse to listen to reason?Tys continually rubbed my fingers, subconsciously giving me support and lending me his strength. I thought about every thing that has happened since we got here, and thought how it would be a waste of time, if my father refuses Tys help.Yes, he is that proud and stubborn, and even if he accepts Tys help, what about Maugrim? would he agree to a truce in the light of the fact that his daughter is already pregnant. Surely he would not want to lose his daughter's love just because of a stupid beef he has with my father. Surely, he would reason that destroying his enemy's kingdom would alienate his daughter forever. He wouldn't want that, would he? I hope he was at least sensible enough to not to let his thirst for revenge override his love for his daughter. Both my father and Maugrim need

He sat down again in his chair, and tapped his fore finger on the table in furious impatience.Arrax glanced at me, sending me a message to talk.I swallowed nervously. Okay, here goes nothing."father, when we found out that Kimi was pregnant, we decided to come back home to help in the war or even stop it" There was a look of half interest on his face at the beginning of my speech, but now, he just erupted in laughter. What was so amusing? I thought, clenching my teeth in anger.I continued "I know it is funny in theory, but we can achieve it with-" he didn't let me finish, he chimed in rudely which I hope he did unconsciously."I'm sorry, Hera, but I have to break it to you, because I see that Arrax and co did not bother to educate you on that part...you see, it takes more than an additional three people to an army to actually win a war" he s

Kasla stood up and ran to her husband, stooling down before him and taking his hands in hers in concern "Amarog! what is the matter?" she asked in alarmAmarog did not answer. I was not even sure that he heard. He was busy staring at me, an amazed look on his face. What was the matter with him? Why was he behaving like he just saw a ghost?Hera came to stand beside me, her face lined with worry for her father.'any idea why he is being like this?' she sent to me'I have no idea, Hera, it is a mystery to me too." I replied, taking her hand in mine. flashback to twenty one years agoNymeria came back home, very tired from the visit to the house of one of the women in the pack whose child had been sick. This morning at dawn, she had woken up to the frantic knocks on the door of her house by Trinity, the woman. She had reluctantly left her bed and the warmth of her husband, Beowulf who was still sleeping peacefully on their bed and fled outside to see what the disturbance was about. As the Luna of the pack, one of her jobs was to take care of every member of the pack aside from helping her husband run the pack efficiently of course. She had met Trinity crying profusely at the door, lamenting about the poor sick child, so she had gone back inside to tell Beowulf where she was going to and then she looked in on her three eldest children who were all sleeping peacefully in their respective rooms and then woke the nursemaid up to look after the baby, Akela. She had then followed Trinity to her home. She had found out that the child,

Lucian has been finding it difficult to bat him away and we have been laughing at him. He told me exactly how he had met my mum and how he felt then and feel now about her.He asked me if he could meet her, despite the fact that she was still married."I will be going back home soon, father, I will know then if you could meet her" I told him and he nodded."Does she love your....her husband?" he asked"No, I don't think so...they have always had problems" I told him, and I saw hope spark anew in his eyes. After wards, he asked about my childhood and I found myself unburdening my heart to him.He listened attentively, and looked wistful as I told him about my siblings and the kind of life I had had while growing up.He also told me how he had endured without his first wife and his son and endured the loss of my mother's love. Some hours later, Hera came back and narrated everything that happened at the castle with joy shinning in her face

He had not bothered me with questions that I was sure he was itching to ask. When we got to the place where soldiers had attacked us with shooting arrows, I pointed it out to Nate and he nodded and looked around the place speculatively."We are sorry about that" he said gruffly and I nodded."You don't need to apologise, Nate...we expected that" I said and he nodded. When we got to the castle gate, Nate said "go in, I will watch your back""All right, Nate, thank you" I told him and smiled at him, he blushed and averted his gaze shyly.I giggled and disappeared through the magic portal. That must have left him even more speechless than before, I thought giggling. When I entered into the castle, the guards became alert and rushed to my side "My lady, is everything all right?" one of them asked"I'm fine....where is my father? Hera asked, searching around the wide space of icy ground.I shrugged "I'm not sure, but I will bet that he is camped at the east side of this wood, that will provide him the best sight of the castle, he would be able to see everything going on from there" I said, observing that the castle is very open to scrutiny of the supernatural eyes from the east side of the wood. That was where I had first caught sight of it when we entered the woods yesterday. But thankfully, the castle can not be breached easily from the entrance. We walked to the east side of the woods, keeping our eyes out for Maugrim's men that may be patrol
