Chapter 3: Betrayal

Iris's POV

"Shit! Iris, run." Father yelled, beta Jason hit my father on the head, as the dagger went through my dad's stomach, his wolf pummeled on the floor. 

"Jason, what are you doing?" Father's voice was low and filled with pain. 

"Taking what rightfully is mine." He said, Father struggles from the floor and held Jason's shoulder. 

"You know, you don't have to kill me, because of the alpha position, your son will still be the alpha after me."

"That is only if he claimed her, my son is not going to claim her." He said pushing the dagger into his tummy. 

"Ouch!" Father screamed as he pushed him away from himself, Father fall towards the door, and Delta Bolton held him. 

"Thank goodness, Bolton you, should save me, save me from the hand of this monster." 

"Of course, I will." Little hope creep into my face, but his actions surprises me, he pierce his claws into my father's injury and dragged it. There I thought, beta Jason and Damien, my mate are the only ones involved, Hilary's father, Delta Bolton, is also involved. 

"Bolton, what have you done?" Father yelled in pain but he paid no attention, he finished Father, and as Father struggles on the floor in his pool of blood, my tears drop. 

"No oh!" For a second, it's seems I didn't listen to my father's voice, for me to run.  

"Go get her and be fast." Beta Jason yelled at his man, before I could even run they get hold of me and pulled me into the same room father and mother were, they were both lifeless on the floor. 

"Father!!! Mother!!!" I screamed as I move from one of them to the other. 

"Stop calling them that, they are not your parents." I look at beta Jason, he should be kidding me, the alpha and Luna are my biological parents, if they weren't my biological parents they would had tell me from the onset, I know father, he is not the type that keeps secrets and I have watch him tease mother with my pregnancy. 

"If you think I am lying, then you should read this." Gamma push a file to me, I grabbed it and read. 

"As the alpha of Goldfang pack, I alpha Bill,  know the entire pack will be surprised at what am about to reveal to everyone, Iris Bill is not my biological daughter, I and my Luna have no heir of our own, so at death, I wish to leave the post of the alpha to the son of my beta, Damien Jason, he is going to be the next alpha of the pack and he is free to marry whoever he which to claimed as his mate." 

My hands and lips were trembling, with every word I read in that letter, now it's obvious that my father didn't want to sign this because of what he found out, they are going to do to me. 

"You all are lying, I am the daughter of..."

"Stop it." Damien pushed me away from himself, preventing me from hitting him. 

"From now on, you are nothing but a maid, a slave, and you know what an omega does. He dragged the chain from my neck that identify me as a princess, and pierce his claws on my back, leaving me with a scar." 

"You were supposed to get a claiming mark on your neck today but here I am, giving you a mark of a slave, you nothing but an omega." 

"And from this day on, as the future Alpha of the Goldfang Pack, I, Damien Jason hereby solemnly reject you, Iris Bill, as my mate."

His words were accompanied by his claws piercing my back, leaving me a mark of slavery, his words hurt deep into my heart, the mark of slavery on my back didn't hurt but his words did. I couldn't bring myself to say a word, even though I try to make a sentence it's not just coming out

"Now, take her way, bring her to the omega quarter." 

"Wait, my father, what about my parents?" I screamed as they grabbed me. 

"They are not your parents, anyways you have nothing to worry about because the pack will give your parents the rite that they deserve, they live and die for a noble cause. So they will be buried as a hero.'

The guards pulled me away as he grabbed me into the quarter of the omega, he pushed me into the basement, I lay flat on the floor, it felt like a dream but it was not a dream, it was reality, my mate just had my parents murdered and he is going to take over the rulership, he will make then believe that my father the alpha died a natural death, even if he wanted to be the alpha does he have to kill my mom as well, my tears drop, I have no idea what the future holds for me, I want to escape but if I am to escape where will I go from here, who will I go to? I have no one. 

My friend had betrayed me, if Hilary is going to be Damien's Luna, that means she is aware of the plans ever since. I was such a fool, not to see the handwriting on the wall, Hilary had always loved Damien, and the two connected most time, but I was blinded by the fact that the four of us are friends, and none of us have anyone else to mingle with. 

How stupid, I have become, that I couldn't see through the jealous Hilary. Father, I am sorry, I couldn't do anything to save you or Mother, I am such a weakling of a daughter. Through the night I cried, and I have been locked up for more than two days without food. 

Food was pushed into the basement through the small opening, Father has never treated his omega the way I am treated. 

"Wait, please wait, what is going on?" I asked, the guard stand and look at me. I could see his face. "I am sorry Princess Iris, your parent's corpses are put to rest today and the pack has a new alpha and Luna." 

"Who are they?" I asked, after contemplating for a while, he parted his lips and gave me the bad news, Damien and my best friend now Luna and alpha. 

My heart was broken into a million pieces and my tears kept dropping, the fact that I will not be there to pay my parents their last respect break my heart, and the betrayal from my friends, it's painful. I cried for hours, alone the sound coming from the mourning ground, my father was a good alpha, he is friends with everyone, and under his rulership everything was fair, I wondered what will be the fate of this pack member now 

The door of the basement flew open and there I was standing in front of Helga, I don't know who to trust but at least she is there, what had she come here for? 

"I am sorry!!!" She said. 

"Do you also know about this?" I asked confused, I know Helga, she is a proud woman, she will never apologize if she had done nothing bad. 

"Yes, I did know, I know Damien and Hilary are in love with each other, I wanted to tell you that, they were dating, I wanted to tell you that Hilary had already met her mate." 

"That is not true, Damien is my mate." I yelled. 

"Keep it low, no one knows I am here, the guards are busy at the castle, celebrating the crown of the new alpha, and the cementing of your parents." My tears drop more as I fall from the floor.

"You should stop crying, Father said I should give you this." 

"What is it?" I open it, it's silver coins. "What should I use it for?" I asked. 

"You should take it and go away, you should run far from the pack." 

"Never, I will not leave until I get what is mine." 

"Iris, you don't get it, you should know Hilary, she will torment you, until your last breath." 

"Then so be it." I push her as I found myself pulling the basement door, I lock it against her face, and she hit on the door trying to persuade me, I have made up my mind, I am not leaving, I am staying right here, here to take back what was might.

"Iris, don't be stubborn, this is the only opportunity you have." 

"What opportunity?"
