CHAPTER HUNDRED FIFTY NINE

Liam’s POV

The matriarch of the house, her piercing gaze fixed upon me, asked where I was going in such a hurry, her voice laced with curiosity and concern. I could feel her apprehension as I stood there, trying to find the right words to explain my sudden departure. Strange occurrences had taken place within the walls of our ancestral castle, and I knew in my gut that I had to return to it, to confront the enigmatic forces that lurked in the shadows.

Tyler, my trusted companion, stood nearby, his eyes flickering with curiosity, yet revealing nothing. I maintained eye contact with him, searching for any hint of recognition or reaction to the news I was about to share. But there was nothing. No sign of guilt or involvement.
