NATALIE.

I watch in quiet amusement as Damien hovers and fidgets over Elias as he examines me. He is almost jumping out of his skin with nerves, his eyes tracking his every movement with hawk-eye diligence.

Elias raises his head as he sets down his instruments before looking at me and breaking into a small smile.

“You are as healthy as anyone can possibly be,” he announces.

“Really?” I ask skeptically. “Anyone? Have you forgotten what you said about me the last time?”

“I know. Which is why this is so strange, but then I suppose when witches are involved..” -a side eye at Fredja who is standing by the door observing- “...weird things are bound to happen. “

“Can you be more specific?” Damien asks. “What exactly has changed?”

“Well, for one, her healing has sped up. Exponentially. Whatever was hindering your wolf from helping before is gone.”

“Of course, it is,” Fredja says, interrupting him. “The thread connecting you and Fredja is gone. That means whatever spell she had made with you
