Chapter Three: Hunting party

CHAPTER THREE – HUNTING PARTY

    Roxanne successful made it into the building, the inside was neat and tiled like a large banking hall, there were lights that brightened the place

“Congratulations Roxanne” a voice said but she saw no one

“You passed the first test of the RIYA program, now you shall proceed to the next” Roxanne looked around the place, there was no one around, what could happen next she thought to herself 

“This test is called the Hunting party… in this building are six professional hunters and marksmen, the goal of all six hunters is to kill you while you goal is to reach the top of this building, the building has six floors and on each floor is an hunter waiting for you, if you kill two hunters before reaching the top floor you will automatically proceed to the next test… good luck” he said and suddenly iron doors covered the glass door she entered from, iron shields covered the windows and the Air conditioners in there went of and the heat increased, the lights became red. Roxanne quickly sort a hiding spot because she had no idea where the hunter was coming from.

   There was silence everywhere, Roxanne was underneath a small desk, she didn’t hear any foot steps approaching, her heart racing so fast that the sound of her breathing can be heard, her pupils were wide open as she searched for movement but found none, an idea came to mind, she took off one of her shoes and threw it out towards a door as the shoe collided with the door a vicious animal dived towards the sound and object and attacked the shoe, tearing the shoe with razor sharp teeth–it was a pit bull, it was large and black, slowly she took off the second shoe and threw it in another  direction but the beast didn’t follow the sound again. Roxanne immediately knew the beast was highly sensitive and intelligent, from her hiding she slowly moved out of there and found a passage, she looked down the passage it was long with doors on left and right, she began crawling towards the end of the passage, half way down she looked back and saw the beast staring at her from a distance, she quickly got up and tried opening a door but it wouldn’t open, the beast began running towards her, she quickly tried another door and it opened, she ran in as the beast’s teeth was few inches away from her leg, she jams the door shut as the pit bull pounded fiercely on the door and barked angrily. 

  Roxanne looked around the room she entered, it was just an office chair and table, she searched the table drawers for any weapon but found none, how was she going to get out of here, suddenly she felt the room getting hotter and hotter like an oven was heating up right above her. She knew she needed to get passed this floor but didn’t know how, if she stayed she would still die if not from the dog then she would die from the heat in the floor. She pushed the table to the door as the dog pounded the door then she moved backwards, her foot stepped on something that sounded empty, she looked down then hit it again with her foot, it sounded like an empty box she quickly got down on her knees and touched it, she knocked on it and it sounded like wood–one would be able to tell the difference because it was the same color as the tiled floor, she quickly opened the drawer of the table where she was a screw driver she used the screw driver to break the wood open, she found a small box inside, she pulled it out and on the box was written “one bullet, use wisely” she opened the box to see a gun, for a moment there she felt relived but she had never used a gun before, she took the gun then approached the door, the pounding had stopped, she pushed the table backwards then slowly opened the door and discovered that the dog was gone, slowly she came out of the room and walked towards the room at the end of the passage, she opened the door to see a flight of stairs leading up to the second floor, suddenly from nowhere the pit bull pounced on her and she screamed out loud, the beast grabbed her arm tightly as it began causing some serious damages to her arm, she picked the gun from the floor and shot the beast in the head and it dropped dead. 

  Her arm was bleeding, she got up and began climbing the stairs leading to the second floor, the lights transitioned from red to blue, she discovered that the stair case actually ended on the second floor, there was no way to the third floor, she opened a door and entered the second floor. 

   She found herself in a passage, on this floor everywhere was cool, she needed it, she inhaled deeply then exhaled, the passage was two ways, the door she came from and the one ahead of her, she slowly walked down the passage with the pain on her arm, she was bleeding out, she felt exhausted as she leaned on the wall which she pushed herself with as her blood painted the wall, she opened a door to her right then entered it and shot the door. She locked the door then sat on the ground, she tore her cloth with her teeth then used the pieces as bandage for the bleeding arm, as she sat there she heard something drop loudly she jerked up and saw a small box in front of her, she walked towards it opened it and saw bandage and alcohol, she looked up but couldn’t see any opening where it came from, she sat down and treated herself then bandaged the injured arm, she got up opened the door looked outside carefully then went out.

   She walked down the passage it led to a large office with partitions made from wooden boards that separated into small office corners, the place looked decent although she didn’t like the blue lights but all she cared about was finding the next stair case, she started moving forward as she looked around then all of a sudden the room went dark, she almost freaked out as she squatted and crawled into one of the partitions and there she stayed quiet, where she hid she felt her body touches something hard, she adjusted herself then touched it with her hand, it was a baseball bat which quickly grabbed, the blue lights came back on but this time they kept flicking like some kind of electrical fault, she came out of hiding then headed down the room, she stayed alert and ready to strike anything in site. 

  Maybe this floor was empty, she thought to herself and not long she located an elevator, she got into the elevator and in the elevator was written “Never use the elevator!” there was only one button labelled ‘3’ meaning the elevator only lead to the third floor, as the elevator door closes she felt she might die if she arrived that floor, she looked up the elevator and saw an opening, a sealed air space, quickly she poked the seal with the base ball bat, the seal opened up and she threw the base ball bat out the hole then jumped up and grabbed an edge then she forcefully climbed out through the hole and at that moment the elevator reached the third floor and as the elevator door opened she waited to see something come in but nothing just silence, she was about to climb down back into the elevator when a lion pounced into the elevator angrily shaking the place, she was shocked, she pulled back quickly then closed the seal. 

   Roxanne looked up and discovered the elevator path led straight up maybe to the final floor, she grabbed the bat and started climbing the walls of the elevator channel, carefully she climbed until she reached another elevator door, this must be the fourth floor, she kept climbing then got to another elevator door, this must be the fifth floor, she kept climbing but this time the bat slipped from her hand and fell

“Shit” she said, it was a long way down as the bat landed on the top of the elevator the sound echoed loudly then suddenly the elevator started coming up at her, she climbed on quickly and got to the sixth door but she couldn’t open it, the elevator was coming, there was no where else to climb to and the elevator was going to crush her to the top wall. Roxanne quickly started climbing down before the elevator reaches her, she jumped and landed on top the elevator unknown to her that the lion was still in the elevator, she opened the seal and the fierce creature pounced at her startling her heavily as it tried to climb out the opening, Roxanne quickly descended on its head with the base bat, she stroke angrily breaking the skull and spilling blood, she kept hitting it hard to be sure it was dead and yes it was but so was she as the elevator reaches the point of crushing her to the top wall, she quickly used the bat to separate the elevator from the top wall she was about to be crushed against, she was in a squatting position, she could feel the bat shaking to the force and pressure of the elevator and in any moment the bat would be broken and she would be crushed, she quickly pushed the heavily corpse of the beast, she pulled it hard till it dropped into the elevator then she quickly entered into the elevator as the bat broke and gave way for the elevator to reach the top. 

  She laid in the ground with her head resting in the dead lion as she breath heavily trying to catch her breath, the blood of the lion filled the ground, she got up and the elevator door opened for her and she saw a large room, she was met with two terrible things, a sharp choking smell of rotten corpses and a room full of dead people hanging from ropes attached to the roof, over 50 corpses, she coughed then covered her nose, she slowly began walking passed the corpses one after the other as they all blocked the way, she tries to avoid touching them but it was not possible then suddenly to her shock the corpses all began moving and shaking violently, she quickly squatted and started crawling forward then suddenly the ground she crawled on opened and she fell in and passed out.
