Tulio didn't know that Cloe had returned to Milla's house on the hill. When Shay came looking for him at the hill house, he rejected her and they left together. He tried to find out about Cloe, without realizing that she had returned there. Innocently, Cloe didn't know that Shay had come looking for him and went to the nearest town to buy supplies to stay there for a few days.
