Chapter 4: Pregnancy
It’s already in the middle of the night and Claire enter the room and he saw Henry sleeping and Chantel has already change to her dress and Claire drags her out of the room.
“ You should not wear the night wear ever again, make sure you burn it because this will bring back the memories of today and as well might ruined our plans” she says and she took the marks from her.
“ You should go to bed now” she says.
“ Good night ma’am” she says and she left and Claire walks to the bed and she lay down beside her husband but she could not sleep and she cries, seated up and she continues crying and she looks at husband but Henry is at sleep.
It’s the next morning and Henry and woke with his head aching and Claire was alert awake too.
“ Good morning babe! How was your night?” She ask and Henry stare at her because he tells like she is different from the person he had on his bed last night and he stare at her.
“ What happened? Why are staring at me that way?” She ask.
“ Last night you look different but you wearing this same night dress with mark on that the sex looks different everything about your body last night looks different” he says and Claire smiled.
“ Really! Nothing change about me baby, maybe it was just your imagination, it’s still me and the same way” she says and Henry stare at her.
“ Tell me, did you enjoy the sec last night?” She asked.
“ Sure! I did. You were so good on bed” he says and Claire get jealous and she can’t wait for Chantel to get pregnant and give birth so sue can’t pay her off.
“I am glad you loved the sex. You should freshen up, the breakfast is server already” she says.
“ Sure baby but I want us to have bath together” he says and he stood up from the bed and he drag Claire out of the bed and he drag her to the bathroom.
Few weeks later, Chantel was feeling dizzy and tired and Claire took to the hospital and the doctor confirmed she was pregnant and Claire was happy and Claire also fake her own pregnancy result test so that she could show Henry they she pregnant.
Claire and Chantel walks to her car and Claire stop her.
“ I already rented an apartment for you at San Diego, you can’t come with me anymore, you can’t stay in my house anymore because no one must discover that you are pregnant” she says and Chantel stare at her.
“ After giving birth, you will have to go far away maybe to a place like New York” she says and Chantel nods her head.
“ This is the keys to the apartment and the address, when you get there, don’t talk to anyone or take anyone as friend, I will visit you once in a while” she says.
“ What will you tell Mr Henry?”She ask.
“ I will tell him that you go a better job and a better offer than to help irk as a maid and I advise to go for it since you are still young and you have a long way to go” she says and Chantel smiles.
“ I will leave now” Claire says and she left in the car and Chantel also left in a taxi.
Claire got back home happy and she saw Henry working on some files from the office and she walks straight to him.
“ Babe! It seems you are still on the work I left but I think now you will need stop the work right now and just be with me” she says and she told Lily to bring a drink because she wants to celebrate and Henry wonders what she wants ti celebrate.
“ What are you up to? What do you want to celebrate?” He ask and Claire brought her fake test pregnancy result and she hand over it to Henry.
“ What is this?” He ask.
“ I believe you went to schools right so just open the envelope and check what is there” she says.
“ Alright, I will do that but before I do so, you told me that you were going to the hospital so what is the latest” he ask.
“ Baby! Stop asking questions and open the envelope so we can just celebrate” she says and she smiled.
“ Humm” Henry says.
“ Yes baby! Or don’t you trust me?“ she ask.
“ Oh baby! I do trust you” he says and he went ahead and open the envelope and he brought the letter in it and he saw read what is in there and he saw a positive pregnancy test and Henry stood up and he was very happy.
“ Baby! Are you for real! You are pregnant?” He ask in surprise and happiness.
“ No baby! We are pregnant” she says and Henry gets very happy and he was writing all over him his face was fill with joy and he hugs Claire and he touch her belly.
“ Finally baby! I will tell my mum about this” he says and Claire stop him.
“ Baby no. Don’t do that.” She says.
“ Why shouldn’t I?” He ask.
“ I am not also telling my family, I just want us to wait till her out to bed before you tell anyone. Baby listen you know how long we waited to have this child and now you want to announced to the public” she says.
“ Baby! Our family is not public, it’s just our family” he says.
“ I know honey but still I want us to still be within us till I put the bed, once family knows about then the whole world will know about it” she says.
“ This is all what my mum has wanted to hear and now that it has happened why keeping it suspense till after nine month, that is a long way sweetheart” he says.
“ I know honey but please, let’s do it my way” she says.
“ Alright, I do not want to stress you out, we will do as you says till you out to bed” he says and Claire gets happy and she hugs.
“ What about Chantel! I haven’t seen her” he says.
“ Yes babe! That is true. Chantel got a better job and a better offer at New York to work as a cook on a restless so I ask her to leave because she is to young for this maid job and maybe from there she could get anther better opportunity” she says.
“ Humm… that is making a lot of sense. I didn’t know about it, only if I knew she was going to leave soon, I would have told her that to not go for the job” he says and Claire wonders why.
“ But why?” She ask.
“ I was thinking of working to the high school so she can study because she is young” he says.
“I guess it’s to late now honey. Let’s forget about her and celebrate for unborn child” she says and Henry our drink her and he also put drink for himself and both cheers.
It’s already in the evening and Chantel got to the apartment Claire got her, she gets down from the taxi and she brings out her suitcase and two maids walks closer to her in their uniform gown.
“ Good evening ma’am” they say.
“ Good evening” she says.
“ We guess, you must be miss Chantel?” They ask.
“ Yes, I am. How may I help you?” She ask.
“ Welcome to San Diego and we were employ to be your maid by Mrs Claire Williams” they says and Chantel smiles and she could not believe that she has a maid.
“ We will help you with this” they said and they carry her luggage inside and Chantel walks into the apartment and she admire it because it’s very big.
“ Thank goodness I accept this offer, so I would have miss this kid of life” she says and she smiled.
“ Ma’am, tell me what do you want drinking or eating?” The maid ask and Chantel could not believe that maid are using ma’am for her.
“ I will let you know when I am ready” she says and she smiled and the maid was about to leave and she stop her.
“ You can prepare me a fresh squeeze juice” she says.
“ Sure ma’am” the maid says and she smiled and she brought out her cellphone and she called Claire on the phone.
Claire saw Chantel incoming call and she stood from the couch and she walks aside.
“ Hi! Chantel” she says.
“ Ma’am! Thank you so much, the apartment is so beautiful and also you even employed maids for me” she says.
“ Yes, that is for your safety make sure you should not stress you’re and make sure you ask the maid to do anything you want and if you need money let me know I will send you some” she says.
“ Sure ma’am. Thank you so much” she says.
“ You should take care of yourself, I have to go now” Claire says and she ends the call and she smiled.
Chapter 5: Back for my rightSome month later, Chantel and Claire went for a scan they both discovered Chantel is carrying twins in her womb and is a boy and a girl and Claire gets happy, Chantel also gets happy and the she remembered that has no right on the child because after she give birth the children will become Claires and she gets sad and Claire notice and she wonders what happened to her.“ What happened? Are you not happy that it’s twins?” She ask and Chantel stare at her.“ I am happy but remembering our agreement make me sad” she says and Claire hold her hand.“ Look! Don’t even think of changing your mind about this because it’s not going to work, if I did not wanted this, you think I will allow you to sleep with my husband, and I am sure you will not have the capital the take care of this child’s because they are two not one, or do you want them to be orphaned like you are” she says and Chantel stare at says no. “ No, I want my kids to have a better life” she says and C
Chantel It’s Tuesday the twentieth of December, and a gorgeous early summer afternoon in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.I don’t visit the city much, so I’m glad my sister has chosen this café on the waterfront, not far from Te Papa, our national museum. We sit at a table outside, overlooking Lambton Harbour. The water is a sparkling blue, reflecting the clear skies. At the table next to us, a group of businessmen and women in smart suits chat over a working lunch. Families and couples on holiday stroll along the waterfront, while a teenager dressed in shorts and a hot-pink vest weaves between them on rollerblades.“So,” my sister says once the waiter has delivered our meals and lattes. “Are you ready to get laid?”“Henry!” Giving an embarrassed laugh, I dart a glance at the people next to us, relieved they didn’t hear her. “For God’s sake, keep your voice down.”She helps herself to the bowl of chunky chips in the middle of the table. “Relax, girl. Nobody’s going to be
Claire, no guy is going to be interested in going with a virgin. It’s not the commodity it used to be. Guys want girls who are experienced and fun in bed. When I meet the right man, I want to know what I’m doing.”“Hmm, yeah, I get that.”“I mean, you weren’t going steady the first time you slept with someone, right?”Her lips twist. “No. It was at a party. You’re right, I just wanted to get it done.”“Exactly. The same for me.”Because I’ve looked after our mother full time since I was sixteen, I’ve been unable to go to university, to have a proper job, or to enter the dating game. I was determined that Claire would get to have the opportunities I missed out on, which is why, when she finishes her degree, she’s insisting on returning home to help share Mum’s care. It means I might be able to enter the dating game eventually. But when I do, I don’t want to go in blind.“So you’re not going to tell him today?” she confirms.“Hell, no. He’ll probably run a mile. I might say somet
Finally, I come to the conclusion that he’s not messaging back anytime soon. Ghosted on my first attempt. I sigh, toss the phone on the bed, grab my book, turn off the TV, and start reading. Within five minutes, I’ve dozed off. I wake about an hour later. It’s warm in the room, and I have a slight headache, but I feel a whole lot better when I look at my phone and discover I have another match, and he’s already sent me a message. His name’s Tim, and he’s the first guy I swiped right on. He’s twenty-six, a dentist, he plays Minecraft, and he likes Andrew. Oh well. Here goes. Andrew:Hey! Looks like He used punctuation and a smiley emoji. Things are looking up! Me:Yeah. You are my lucky star! Tim:LOL wot? Shit. Me:Sorry, it’s a quote from Andrew. Ripley sings the song at the end? Tim:Oh yeah, sorry, I haven’t watched it for ages. LOL cool. You into sci-fi? Me:Yes, and fantasy. Books and movies. You? Tim:Yeah, some, I like horror movies mainly. I’m not a big fan of horror, bu
We exchange a smile, and he leaves the room.I sit back for a moment, my smile fading. Somehow, he managed to sidestep the dating arena by knocking a girl up on a one-night stand and then having her turn up on his doorstep four months later, pregnant with his twins. I’m genuinely thrilled he’s found himself a girl he seems crazy about, but it’s impossible not to feel a touch of envy. It’s been a few months since I had a woman in my bed, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss sex. I don’t miss the emotional turbulence that always seems to accompany dating, though. I wish I could jump to the four-month stage and have done with the getting-to-know-you part.Sighing, I return my attention to the financial report, and I’m a good three-quarters through before I’m interrupted again by the phone on myI check the display and see it’s an internal call—my younger brother, Damon.I pick up the receiver and say, “Yo,” my standard, somewhat unprofessional greeting to my siblings.“My office
I watch a blackbird hop along the window ledge before it takes off and soars toward the park.“I wanted to wish you happy birthday,” Lily says.I lean an elbow on the arm of my chair and rest my head on my hand. “My birthday’s tomorrow.”“Oh… It’s the twenty-first, isn’t it? Shit.” She got the day wrong every year we were together.“Yeah, but thanks anyway.” I wait for her to suggest hooking up again. Be strong, Kip.“I wanted to tell you before someone else did,” she says. “I’m getting married.”I go still. Then, slowly, I sit up. “Oh. Okay.”“His name’s Henry Williams —and no, it’s not the actor, they just share the name. He’s an architect, and we’re really happy together.”“Congratulations.”“Shit, I didn’t mean to say it like that. You make me nervous.”“Why?”“I don’t know. You always make me feel as if you’re going to tell me off.”I lift my glasses onto my hair and massage the bridge of my nose. “I appreciate you letting me know, and I wish you all the happiness in
I quickly text Henry.Me:Hey bro, would you and Catie be up for dinner tomorrow? I’ve been chatting to a girl I really like who’s a bit nervous and I think it would help if we went together? It takes him about fifteen minutes to come back.Henry :Sorry, we were having a bath and then… otherMe:Jesus. Do you two ever stop?Henry :What can I say? I’m irresistible.Me:And I’m jealous.I grin, though, pleased that he’s found someone.Me:So, dinner tomorrow?Henry:Yeah, sure, if we can keep it relaxed? Catie’s keen but still nervous about eating out. Maybe we could do Red’s Rib Shack?Me:Good idea. Shall I book? For seven?Henry:Sounds great. What’s her name?Me:Chantel.Chantel :All right, see you tomoz.I call the restaurant and book a table, requesting the best one in the house. Then I message Alice again.Me:Okay, all done! Seven p.m. at Red’s Rib Shack. Do you know it?Chantel :Yes! Thank you so much. I wasn’t sure if you’d actually do it, LOL.Me:Of course! I’m excite
No, I’m happy for you to choose.”He looks at the menu. “We’ll have a bottle of the Kusuda, please.”I blink. It’s the most expensive red on the list and costs more than I’d expect to pay for a three-course meal. Is it what he’d normally order, or is he trying to impress me?“Show off,”Catie giggles, and I try not to laugh.“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,” Kip says.“Oh, I’m having great fun,” Saxon replies. Kip glares at him, and Andrew gives him a look that says, ‘I’m going to make your life a misery, and there’s nothing you can do about it.’“Ignore them,” Claire says to me with a smile. “It’s very nice to meet you.”“Likewise.” I gesture at her bump. “When are you due?”“End of March.” Her top bears the words ‘Make it a Double.’“Twins?” I guess.“Yeah. Two boys. Just like these guys.”“My commiserations,” I tell her, and she chuckles, while the two of them smile wryly.“Do you live nearby?” Andrew asks, leaning back and putting his arm around his girlfriend.
Mum, I’m fine.” Irritably, I drop my arm, walk over to one of the armchairs, and drop into it. I know I’m being mulish, but it’s taking all my willpower just to stop myself walking out. I’m too miserable to make an effort.I’ve never been the sort of person to want to talk through my problems, and to be fair my family knows this and they all ignore me for the next hour or so, while Pamela, our housekeeper, brings in the food that Pierre, the chef, has made. I pass on all of it, sickened at the thought of swallowing anything except the whisky. Why have I never thought about the fact that we have our own chef? How decadent is that?About every five seconds, I check my phone to see if Alice has texted me, but the screen remains dark, and my Apple watch refuses to buzz against my wrist to announce an incoming call. Slowly knocking back the whiskies, and taking off my glasses, I grow more morose as the evening goes on, having to sit there and listen to everyone cooing over the babies and t
“It was a-mazing,” she says. “I had a glass of champagne and a piece of a fantastic chocolate torte. So good.”I grin as we cross to the car. “There’s something to be said for having a rich boyfriend.” I open the car and start helping Mum into the passenger seat.“Absolutely.” Charlie concentrates on getting her suitcase into the boot, helps me attach the wheelchair to the rack at the back that Kip had fitted for me, then gets into the back seat.I glance at her in the rear-view mirror before starting the engine and pulling away. “Everything okay, sweetie? You’ve lost weight, and you’re“Oh, just been working super-hard. I’ve got a dissertation this year, and the assessments are coming thick and fast, too.”“Are you eating well?” Mum asks. Charlie has a student allowance and a loan, and she works in a bar in the evenings and at the weekends, but Mum and I both know money is tight for her. We suspect that, like with a lot of students, her diet suffers occasionally so she can pay her re
Come for me.” She begins to move on top of me again, and I close my eyes as pleasure spirals through me. “Come on, baby,” she murmurs, teasing my lips with hers as the rock of her hips drives me in and out of her. “Let me hear those wonderful deep groans. Let me feel your muscles tighten as you come inside me.”There’s no stopping it now—her body is slim and soft and warm in my hands, all sensual curves and dips, and she’s so warm and wet, and I don’t have to claw my way to a climax, I just have to lean back and relax against the sofa cushions and let it wash over me in wonderful waves. It feels amazing, my muscles tightening deep inside, and her mouth is on mine, drinking in my gasps of pleasure, my body jerking and pulsing what feels like a dozen times, before it finally calms.I open my eyes and look straight into hers“Hello,” she says, and kisses“Hey.” I sigh.“Missed you,” she says, and then she nestles against me, with me still inside her, and we sit like that for a long time,
“Stop it. You know what I mean.”“What kind of a snob do you think I am? I know not everyone’s house is like mine.”“Catie told me you grew up in a mansion.”“Well, yeah, okay, that is“She said it has a pool and a billiard room and a theater room, and you all had your own separate apartments there.”“Yes, that’s true…”“She said you get to it via a cable car.”“Look, I’m not saying my family isn’t wealthy. I know not everyone is the same, that’s all, and I don’t judge other people by what they do and don’t have. Give me some credit.”My face warms. “I’m sorry.”“It’s okay.”“You want to put me over your knee?”He gives a short laugh. “You keep teasing me and one day I’m going to do just that.”It’s the first time he’s mentioned sex in our conversations since I came home, and it sends heat all the way through me. “Ooh. I’ve just had a hot flush.”“Oh… that idea turned you on, did it?”“Everything about you turns me on.”He sighs. “I miss you.”“I miss you too.”“Not long until Valenti
I shake my head. My chest is hurting so much that for a moment I wonder whether the coronary I foretold earlier has actually come to pass. But it’s just my throat muscles clenching, locked in a spasm of grief that I fight to hold in.I don’t know whether she truly meant that, or if she said it to make both of us feel better. It must be the latter? Surely I’m not the only one here who’s fallen in love?I look into her eyes. They plead with me not to say it. And they shine with all the emotion she’s trying to hold in.Clearly, I’m not the only one. There is no obvious solution. The path ahead is blocked by brambles, and I can’t see my way clear. I can’t control this situation, any more than I could control what happened with Christian. For the first time in years, panic rises inside me at my impotence, a word no man ever wants to encounter.I take a deep, shaky breath, and blow it out slowly. Alice has feelings for me, and I need to take consolation from that, and hope that the way ahea
As her body gives up its tension, and she flops back onto the table, I place tender kisses on either side of her thighs, then get to my feet and lean over her, pressing my throbbing erection between her legs through my boxer-briefs.Her arms are across her face, and she lifts them a little to peer up at me. “You have a magnificent tongue,” she states.I thrust my hips, driving my erection up through her swollen folds, and she groans and wraps her legs around me again. I continue to move my hips, and Jesus it’s so tempting to stay there and thrust myself to a climax, but this is our last night together, and it’s only been minutes since we walked in the door.Gritting my teeth, I move back, take her hand, and pull her upright. “You drive me wild,” I tell her, pressing my lips to“I driveyouwild? I’m the one who just lost the plot.” She lets me kiss her, grumbling, “I can taste myself.”I slip a hand beneath her, coat a finger with her moisture, then lift it and smear it across her botto
Depression is common in people with M.S.,” Alice says, “because of the pain and the fatigue and constant complications. We work hard to focus on the positive things in our lives, but she has days where it all gets too hard for her. And she hates that she’s holding me back from living a normal life. When she’s really bad, she cries and says it would be better if she wasn’t here. I find that hard to handle.”“Of course you do. I’m so sorry.”“Her dark moods don’t tend to last long because she knows they upset me. I try to keep little treats for days like those. We go out in the car to the waterfront and look at the statues of Captain Cook and Young Nick—he was Captain Cook’s cabin boy, and he was the first person on the Endeavour to spot the New Zealand coastline.”“Oh, I didn’t“Yeah, Mum’s quite into Kiwi history. Sometimes we go to Dad’s grave and sit there and chat about him. Or we go to the Eastwoodhill Arboretum and just immerse ourselves in nature. I’ll make us something special
That makes me laugh. “Fair enough.”He kisses my lips, long and luscious, then lifts his head and kisses my nose. “Am I squashing you?”“Yes, but I like it. All the things you said about me—I like how we’re different, too. Women are encouraged to believe they can do anything men can do, and it implies we’re the same, but we’re not.”He moves his hips against mine. ““Mmm, but it’s not just about that. You’re taller, broader, stronger, and more muscular.” I run my hands up his biceps, feeling the hard bulges there. “Your hands are larger. You have hair in places I don’t—your face, chest, and belly. Your voice is deeper, and you have this.” I brush a finger down his Adam’s apple.“But it’s not just that,” I continue thoughtfully. “Before she fell ill, my mum was spirited and independent, and she brought me and Charlie up to be the same. But she also thought it important that we be ladylike and feminine. She taught us to sit with our knees together, and to be conscious of our posture and
My erection springs to life as she sucks. I remove my thumb and kiss her again, this time allowing the full heat of my passion to sear through us both. She’s so soft—her skin, her breasts, her mouth. I cup her left breast in my hand, feeling its weight like a ripe fruit. I’ve never seen such pale nipples on a woman, the lightest pink, barely darker than the rest of her skin, and they also feel soft, like velvet petals. I tease one with my thumb, then tug it gently until it stiffens. She gives a little moan against my mouth, so I do it again, harder this time, and she sighs, then leans her forehead on my shoulder.“What’s the matter, Alice?” I kiss her ear, then the skin beneath it. “We’ve only just started.”“I know, but I’ve been…” she tips her head back, “aaahhh… thinking about this for weeks, and… aaahhh… you make meI tease her earlobe with my tongue while I continue to tug her nipple. “Where?”“Aw, don’t make me say it.”I laugh and tug her earlobe between my teeth. “Why not?”“D
