Bane looked at the trembling woman before him. His men shouldn’t have hurt her. They definitely shouldn’t have taken the deal with her uncle. And they would pay for that.

Bane didn’t believe in keeping his men at a short leash or babying them. But he had four rules that everyone in the organisation had to live by. His word was law. They didn’t hurt women and children. They didn’t deal with human trafficking. No one was to sell drugs to children.

The four rules were enforced without exception, with severe punishment for disobedience. What his men had done to Emma violated rule number two and was a clear attempt at breaking rule number three. But this angel in front of him didn’t know that.

Bane’s need to possess her had only grown. Her innocence was like a light in the night and he was the moth. He needed to possess her, to corrupt her. So he smiled his wicked smile and saw her tense up. She may be innocent, but her instincts were strong.

“We need to get our money back and that is one way,” he shrugged.

“How much does he owe?” she asked.

Bane took out his phone and looked it up.

“Close to three million dollars,” he said. “Two-million eight-hundred fifty-five thousand two-hundred two dollars and fifty cents, to be precise.”

“Two-million eight-hundred fifty-five thousand two-hundred two dollars?” Emma asked in an unsteady voice. She was visibly shaking.

“And fifty cents,” he added. She nodded, and he could see the cogs turning in her mind.

“We could sell the house. It won’t cover the entire debt, but as a down payment. Then we could pay off the rest monthly,” she suggested.

“I didn’t know Cobler owned a house,” Bane said.

“He doesn’t. It’s mine. My parents left it to me. It’s worth about eight hundred thousand,” she told him.

Bane could clearly see the pain it caused her to suggest this. A good man would have wanted to protect her from the pain, but Bane wasn’t a good man. He saw it as another pressure point to get what he wanted; her.

“Angel, that’s not even a third of the debt. With the interest adding up, you will pay off the debt for the rest of your life. And to be frank, I’m not interested in waiting that long for my money,” he told her. She looked down and nodded.

“Maybe I could get a loan at the bank,” she thought out loud, biting her lower lip. Bane watched her teeth tugging at the plump lip and had an urge to replace them with his own teeth.

“Do you think any bank will give you a two-million-dollar loan with no collateral?” he asked.

“No,” she almost whispered.

Bane smiled. He had her right where he wanted her, left with no options but his.

“I have an offer for you,” he said in a calm voice. She looked up at him.

“You want me to sell my body.”

It wasn’t a question, but Bane shook his head.

“No, I have a different proposition for you,” he said as he got up to fill his glass with another round of whiskey.

“You will help me?” she asked in a hopeful voice.

How could anyone be this naïve? Bane thought.

“I am,” he nodded as he turned around and looked at her.

“Thank you. You are a good man, Mr Velky,” Emma said, giving him a weak smile.

“No, angel, I’m not,” he told her as he walked back to her, taking his seat on top of the table.

“I killed my first man before the age of fifteen and I haven’t stopped since. I’m possessive, cruel and have a hot temper,” he honestly told her. He could see her hands clenching the water bottle between them.

“B-but you said you would help me,” Emma said.

“I have a proposition that would keep you out of the brothels, but don’t fool yourself to think I’m doing it out of kindness. I do this because you have something I want.”

“What do I have?” she asked.

“Your body,” he got straight to the point and could hear her gasp.

“Y-you said I wouldn’t have to…” she started saying.

“I’m not talking about selling your body, Emma. I’m a busy man, but I’m also a man with needs and certain inclinations. Because of this, I find it useful to have someone close by that can help me with these… urges when they arise. Someone that won’t involve feelings or become needy,” he explained.

“A pet for my sexual desires to put it bluntly.”

She stared at him with big, terrified eyes.

“Pet?” she asked.

He gave her a cocky smile and put down his glass next to him on the table.

“It’s not as bad as it sounds, I promise. I may be possessive and rough, but I never let a woman leave my bed unsatisfied,” he said as he let his eyes wander over her body, not feeling the need to hide it from her.

She shifted uneasily in her chair.

“How, how would it work?” she asked.

Bane stood up and leaned over her, placing his hands on the armrest of the armchair she was sitting on. He inclosed her as he leaned in close to her. He could feel her scent, clean, simple and with no perfume. Like newly washed linens that had been hung out to dry in the summer sun.

“You can’t be as innocent as to not know how a man pleasures a woman. Or do you want me to describe it to you?” he whispered in her ear. He heard her breath hitching.

“I-I know how sex works, thank you. I was referring to the pet part,” she stuttered, making him smile.

“Of course you do,” he said, sitting down on the table and picking up his drink.

“We would write a contract, stating that for three years, a year per million, you would be my pet. The contract would outline your duties and my responsibilities and by the end of the contract, your family’s debt would be considered paid in full,” he told her.

Bane didn’t expect Emma to take him up on his offer. But he enjoyed playing with her. The way she reacted to his presence gave him a kick, and he desperately wanted to know what she looked like under those baggy clothes.

“And any debt that my uncle incurs during the three years?” she asked.

Bane gave her an appreciative look. She wasn’t stupid.

“I can agree that all future debts are not to be associated with you. They will solely be on your uncle and aunt. If that is agreeable to you?” he suggested.

“Yes,” she nodded.

That surprised him. Not only that she was treating this as an actual option, but she was ready to let her uncle face the consequences on his own. She seemed like the person who was foolish enough to help, no matter what. He guessed everyone had a limit.

“And if you get bored with me?”

“Bored with you?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Three years is a long time, Mr Velky. I know your reputation. Three weeks with the same woman is a long stretch for you,” she told him with a slight blush to her cheeks.

Bane couldn’t help but chuckle. She wasn’t wrong. He didn’t have the patience for a serious relationship or a long-term lover for that. Women always seemed to want more of him.

“As long as you don’t feel possessive about me, angel, it won’t be an issue. But we can add a clause that says if I choose to end the contract before the three years are up, your part will be considered fulfilled,” he smiled.

“And if I want to end it?”

“We’ll reduce your debt by eighty-four thousand per finished month,” he told her. She slowly nodded.

Bane thought she was seriously considering this. The thought of having this woman at his back and call made his dick hard and his mouth water. The things he would do to her once he got her underneath him.

“Let’s get one thing straight before we go any further, miss Cobler. This is not me suggesting we have a relationship. You will have no claim to me. You are there to satisfy me. If I get satisfied by fucking another woman, that will be none of your business. If I choose to have a fucking orgy, you have no say in it.”

Emma nodded at his words.

“But you will be mine, I don’t share. You will have no men besides me. You will have no male friends sniffing around. The only other men you are allowed near are my men. And if they get too handsy, you will tell me, understood?” he said in an icy voice.

He knew it wasn’t fair. But he wasn’t a fair man. He expected her to nod again, but she frowned and looked at him.

“What if the man isn’t interested in me?” she asked.

He smirked. Her innocence was adorable.

Emma felt her gut clench for the hundredth time since this conversation started. Was she really considering this?“Angel, any man that hangs around you will be interested in getting you into his bed unless he is insane. I don’t want you around insane people,” Bane told her with a smirk.“And if he isn’t interested in women, if he is gay?” she asked. Bane looked at her with surprise. “I’m guessing you have a particular man in mind?” he said. “My best friend,” she nodded. “And you are sure he is gay?” Emma couldn’t help herself but smile.“I’m sure,” she nodded.“I could allow it, if you agreed to let my men or me be present when you meet, at least at first.”Emma nodded. She didn’t like the idea, but it was better than losing Simon all together. “I do have to treat male patients,” she told him.“What do you work with?” he asked.“I’m an E.R nurse,” she said. She was proud of herself for her work.“It won’t be an issue since you won’t be working,” he calmly said.“What?”“Angel, I

“Boss,” the mountain greeted Bane as Emma got into the vehicle. There was a second man in the driver’s seat. “Tom,” Bane greeted the mountain before getting in and taking his seat next to Emma. “Boss,” the man in front said.“Luke,” Bane nodded. “Everything good?” the man called Luke asked.“We should have no issues,” Bane said as he placed an arm around Emma. She jumped at the touch. Bane shot her a disapproving look. Emma took a moment to regret the fact that she had never learnt to swear. She felt like this situation could have used a couple of good swear words. But she couldn’t really seem to use them, even in her own mind. Bane felt his desire grow as he pressed Emma against the door. She tasted of lemons, and her soft lips moved in perfect sync with his. As he used his teeth to tug at her bottom lip, she let out a soft moan that nearly made him come undone. There was no question about him wanting her, nor was there any question about that he would claim her as his. But when he did, she wouldn’t be covered in bruises and be half unconscious from lack of sleep. No, when he claimed his angel, she would feel no other pain than the one he wanted her to feel, and her mind would be able to take all of it in.He stepped away from her, ending their make-out session. Emma woke from a light knock on the door. She was confused for a moment; she didn’t recognise the sheets, or the bed, or the room. Last night came back to her as a freight train mercilessly ploughing through her sleepy mind. There was a second knock on the door.Emma sat up and called for them to enter, making sure the cover was up around her waist. She had been sleeping in her tank top and panties since she didn’t have any of her nightclothes. The older woman from the night before walked into the room with a smile on her face.“Good morning, miss Emma,” she said.“Good morning, Anna,” Emma replied. At least she thought that was the woman’s name. The smile she got back had her thinking she had been right.“I have some new clothes with me and some make-up,” Anna told her and put the bundle she had in her arm on the dresser. “Thank you,” Emma said.“Not at all. Let me have a look,” Anna said, walking up to Emma and turning her head to look at Emma’s cheek. Anna made a tutting noise.“

Bane looked up at her.“Say whatever you want,” he told Emma. “Obviously, I can’t say I’m your girlfriend. How about I tell them you hired me as a private nurse?” she pondered.“Why is it fucking obvious that you can’t be my girlfriend?” he asked. She thought he sounded angry, which confused her. “Because you told me yesterday that it wasn’t what this was. I can’t go around telling people you are my boyfriend and then pretend to turn a blind eye when you pick up other women,” Emma explained. “Right,” he said. But he didn’t sound happy. Maybe he just wasn’t a morning person, Emma thought. They sat in silence for a while longer. They had both finished eating when the two men Emma vaguely remembered had driven them to this place last night entered the dining room. “Emma, this is Tom and Luke. They will take you shopping and anything else that you need. Just let them know where you need to go and they will take you,” Bane told her. Emma looked up at the two giant men, both dressed i

You are the only one I can trust. I know you will tell me the truth about what fits and what doesn’t. And I will spill the tea, and it is a really, really excellent tea to spill,” she begged. “Damn you and your knowledge of my weaknesses,” he groaned. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she said. They headed into the first shop to start their hunt. Emma felt bad that she had to lie to her friend, but she couldn’t tell him the truth. She didn’t think she would survive if Simon cut her out of his life. He was a good man, but Emma knew that when she more or less voluntary had signed a sex contract, she had become a glorified sex worker, a pet. She didn’t think anyone would think that would be okay. So she avo

Five years ago?” Emma said hesitantly.“No, I dragged you into one when Joan got married. That is like three years ago,” Simon corrected her. “That’s true.” Emma nodded.“Oh my. Well, that explains it.” Tammy said.“Is it that bad?” Emma asked.“No, not at all. It just has no shape. I would love to just put in some layers and freshen it up a little. Bane had always suspected Emma’s clothes were hiding her true form. But looking at her now, he realised he had underestimated her natural sensuality. She was wearing a soft pink dress with silver sequins strewn all over it, making the light bounce off it. It created the illusion that she was sparkling. The left arm had a full sleeve, and the other arm was bare. There was no cleavage to speak of. But the waist was cinched and made her full br

Emma sat at her desk, she had gone through the last of the reports regarding the latest batch of potential new clients. She had selected three that she thought had potential. The rest would get a kind refusal letter, telling them the firm had too much on their plate to take them on as clients, but they could recommend the attached list of accountant firms. Simon’s and her business were blooming. They had stopped looking for new clients as they had their hands full with their existing ones and the ones that asked to join. There was a knock on the door and Tom opened it and came inside.“We need to get going in ten minutes if you want to have time to get ready, Mrs E,” he told her. “Thank you, Tom. Could you make sure that these three potential clients get wetted? I’ll just say bye to Simon and then we can go,” she told him. He nodded and took the folders from her. It was time for Emma to deal with things. She had let Bane keep her in their room, with brief visits to the kitchen and the library, for weeks. She felt much better, especially since Bane had stopped thinking she was too frail for sex. Emma almost felt like her old self again. No, that wasn’t entirely true. She felt like a new and improved version, Emma 2.0. Somehow her time with Walker had given her a little more confidence, and the fact she knew she had Bane and Simon in her life left her with a sense of security that she hadn’t felt since she was a child. It was time she put this new version to the test.“I want to see my aunt and uncle,” she told Bane as they were eating breakfast. Emma had convinced him they should start having their meals in the dining room and not the bedroom. It felt like a good sign that he had agreed. “No.”“You said that it was my decision what happens to them,” she objected.“It is. You will tell me what you want, and I will make it happen. She had been right that he was trying to hold back, trying to not acknowledge how much better she was. Because if he did, he would have to let her go out into the world. And that scared the shit out of him. He just wanted her safe. But as he drew her into his embrace, kissing her like he had wanted to kiss her since she woke up, with a scoring heat. He knew he had to give in and let her keep going on with her life. “You have been a really good girl. Time for your reward. On the bed, angel, on your hands and knees,” he told her. Emma was slowly healing and getting her strength back. The first days she had been on a strict diet that Linda had ordered. But as the week moved on, she gradually could start eating like normal. Bane made sure she got all her meals and snacks in their room. He also made sure she had dessert with every meal. As he had told her, he didn’t leave their room. He was constantly by her side. If he needed to work, he did so from the armchair by the TV. He helped her to the bathroom, and he helped her to shower whenever she wanted to. There was a constant stream of people coming to visit Emma. She was moved by how most of the men, some she had only met in passing, came by to look in on her. She made it a point to thank each of them for helping to rescue her. Then there was Anna. She made sure to bring Emma’s meals herself and stayed to talk a little. Tom and Luke were almost in the room as much as she and Bane. Luke was looking better by the day as Simon was finally talking to him, even thoug

Her body felt too angular and thin, and her hair had lost its shine. But he didn’t care. She was back in his arms, in his bed, and he had told her he loved her. Bane still had a hard time believing she loved him back, and she forgave him. He didn’t forgive himself and would spend the rest of his life making it up to her if she would let him. A cold hand clutched his stomach as he remembered he didn’t know what they had done to her. He knew she had been beaten from the pictures. Linda had told him she had seen all the signs of starvation and dehydration. But other than that, Bane had had plenty of time to think about what else they

I would like you to sit next to me,” she asked.“I don’t want to hurt you,” he said.“Don’t be silly. Simon was sitting there not five minutes ago. Come on, let’s have a talk,” she told him. Emma woke up feeling dazed. Her mind was fuzzy, and it took her a minute to remember what had happened. She tensed up as she remembered the small room she had been in the last weeks. Then she realised she was home. No, not home. She was in Bane’s bed. Someone was holding her hand, and she squeezed it to make herself relax. “Emma?” she heard Bane say, and she turned her head towards the sound. Bane had pulled up one of the armchairs next to the bed and was sitting in it, holding her hand. Emma smiled at him and felt herself relax. He looked tired, but he returned her smile.“Hi,” she said, her voice sounded hoarse and dry.“Hi, angel. How are you feeling?” he asked. Emma thought about it. She had a feeling she should be in a lot of pain, but she wasn’t. “Fine, a bit fuzzy, like my brain is wrapped in a soft cloud. And I’m thirsty and I think I’m a little hungry as well,” she told him. But in her brilliant blue eyes, he could see hope. Then his focus shifted to the man that was dragging her backwards by the arm. Walker’s son, Bane realised. As Emma was dragged out of his view, Bane turned towards the chaos that was playing out on the ground level. Jax and his men had made progress. They were forcing most of Walker’s men to the right while some of Bane’s men herded the guests and workers to the left. No one was foolish enough to assume the guests and workers were harmless. They all knew that there could be numerous guns, knives and other things hidden amongst them. They would be searched and dealt with when this thing was over.“Found the item,” Bane shouted.
