Emma

When I step into the room, the first thing I see is her. Pale smooth skin, full breasts, a short gown that hugs her figure in all the right places, tossed hair, blowjob lips, crackling blue eyes, flushed cheeks and a slightly skewed dress. She radiates innocence and yet she is loaded with sensuality. She is intriguing and so damn beautiful I am livid. What the fuck was she doing here alone with my husband? And what the fuck were they up to before I came in?

My smile is sticky sweet on my lips as I enter fully into the room.

“I’m so sorry I’m late. I heard we had a visitor so I rushed here as fast as I could.”

It is hard to get a whiff of her scent, she is so pathetically weak. I pull my lips back from a sneer and keep the smile. When I finally catch her scent, everything clicks into place.

I turn my smile on my unimpressed husband while my brain fires furiously. I’ve scented her before, only once, when she marked him. The audacity of the bitch to follow him all the way to his home, to his Luna. Has she no shame?

She marked him, and he let her. No way, could she be his mate?

“Emma. I’ll call you when I need you.” My Alpha says and I bow my head.

A dismissal, because of her?

“Oh no it’s fine!” The girl interjects, ridiculously nice. “She can stay. You must be the Luna of Blood-bound pack.”

I smile and shake her outstretched hand, ignoring my Alpha.

“I am.”

So the bitch does know he has a Luna, and she put a mark on him anyway. I will gouge out her eyes and feed them to the crows. He is mine.

“Emma Larry. And you are?”

“Celine Dontellar, of The Creed pack.”

My brows rise imperceptibly. A Dontellar, one of the three sisters then? I’m shocked at the power coming off her if she is, I would expect a daughter of Alpha Dontellar to pack more of a punch.

“It is so nice to meet you.” She says.

Is it?  So nice your lips are red from my husband’s kisses?

I smile and lean in for a quick hug.

“The pleasure is all mine Celine. I can call you that right?”

“Of course.” She says, her smile straining. Good.

“I’ve heard alot about Alpha Dontellar and the Creed pack, and I can’t wait to hear more from you.”

She laughs and even her laughter is sexy. In my fantasy, I bitch-slap it out of her mouth.

“There isn’t much to say but I’ll oblige you.”

“And of course, I must give you a tour of the pack house before the end of today. I assume you will be leaving by tomorrow?”

I ask as nicely as I could, my smile straining because of Alpha Lor’s eyes on me. The male has always had the ability to see right through me.

“Uhmm...” She catches her lip and my heart pounds in anxiety.

“She will not be leaving tomorrow.” Alpha Lor says and my heart twists painfully.

“Oh yeah?”

We are both looking at him but his eyes are on her, a hidden message passing between them. I feel sick and I want to kill her on the spot.

“Her business here will be taking a little longer than that.” He says. That’s because you want to fuck her you cheating bastard.

He cannot claim her. I regulate my breathing and console myself with that. I feel like laughing really, whose sick joke is this? His mate is a handspan away from him and he will never be able to claim her. My lips curve and I finally smile genuinely.

“Have her room prepared.” He orders.

“I’m sorry.” She says, so nice and so damn irritating. “I hope I won’t be intruding too much on your hospitality.”

Die bitch, taking advantage of my hospitality to hump my husband and she asks if I’m fine with it.

“Of course not.” I say with a small laugh. “Stay as long as you want. There is a lot of space in the pack house.”

“Thank you.”

“I’ll see you soon.” I say. “Alpha.” I nod to him and go back the way I came.

When the door closes behind me, I stomp away, practically seeing red.

Why, why, why is this happening?

I head straight to my room and bang the door closed, breathing hard as the lock clicks.

I grab the vase by the door and haul it across the room, satisfied at the sound of the crashing and the accompanying tinkling of glass shattering everywhere.

“Fucking bitch!!” I scream, not bothered about being heard. The walls are insulated against wolf ears.

I drop to the couch and drop my face in my hands, realising I am shaking.

Alpha Lor has always underestimated me. He must think I’m very stupid not to have realised that it’s the same female he fucked, a female I think is his mate. Or maybe he just doesn’t care. I see his eyes again as he looked at her, heated and more alive than they have ever been in the years we have been together. Why couldn’t he ever look at me like that? I’m not nobody to him, I’m his Luna and I’m the person he needs most in his life. Why has he never ever looked at me with such amazement before?

A knock sounds on the door.

“Leave me!” I yell and the maidservant scampers away.

I grab a priceless glass piece off my nightstand and hurl it across the room again. I want to rip into my room till there’s nothing left but I hold myself back and stride to the window, gulping down fresh air.

I can’t lose him.

I worked so hard to get him in the first place. Nobody knows what it took to make myself an omega powerful enough to get his attention. An omega powerful enough to soothe his beast. It took raw power and then some. I have sacrificed a lot and I have earned my status as the Luna of the Blood-bound pack. And now, some spoilt little female thinks she can waltz in here, bat her lashes and claim my throne. I earned it and I will keep it.

After everything I have done, I refuse to lose him to anyone, not even his mate.

A bird lands on the ledge of the opposite window and my eyes narrow on its tiny body. I raise a hand and power rises to my fingertips. She tries to take off but my power has seized hold of her. She panics, her tiny eyes bulging when her body refuses to obey her mind’s command to fly.

My rouged lips curve into a smirk of satisfaction as my power lashes out and the bird drops to the ground below, lifeless. The dark energy thrums in my veins, calming me down.

I always knew there was a possibility of him finding his mate of course. In fact, I’m prepared for it. Only one of us can claim the male, and by the goddess it will be me.

CelineI should have insisted on leaving, that is what a sane, responsible, self-respecting female would do. Then I wouldn’t be looking forward to a cringe morning as I listen to the summons. The Luna would be delighted to see me this morning, a request I cannot turn down.I pull my cargo pants up my waist and shimmy into my top. If I’ll be staying here awhile, might as well be nice to the Luna. I follow the servant to the main living room where she waits for me. “Hello Celine. You look ravishing.” She says with a big smile. First name basis? “So do you.” I say and return her hug. “I’m sorry I was so busy yesterday I couldn’t find the time to give you a tour. I hope you didn’t wait up.”“I didn’t.” “I’m glad. Come with me, I’ll show you around. But I’m scared witless that one more fuck and I will reduce my expectations of myself and settle for sex. I don’t want just sex with him. I want this powerful male to be mine, all mine. CelineI don’t leave the next day, even as I call myself all types of fool. Who knew? This mating thing is miserable business. I thought my day couldn’t get worse. Horny, angry and far from home. That was before Emma brushed into my room, excited as a teenager. “Hello beautiful. Don’t tell me you’re still in bed.” She says with a laugh. Yeah, pretty much. Your husband terrorised my dreams so much throughout the night I settled for daylight sleep. Immortals don’t need sleep but it’s the most pleasant zen period. I can go days, weeks even without but I love it. Just like eating. “I lost track of time. Did something happen?”“Not at all. I have however organised a dinner party for you later.”“Seriously? You didn’t have to.”“Of course not, but I want to” She says, plopping herself on my bed. Goddess, please get up and leave already. Celine He stops in front of me, his eyes roaming slowly down my body appreciatively. Heat rises to my cheeks and I try my best to beat it down, as well as the stupid smile on my face. I’ve missed him so much, viscerally. I didn’t know how much until he is standing a touching distance away. It is only the press of a hundred eyes on us that stays me, and forces me to quickly recover my cool. We have an audience and I hope to the goddess none of them saw the tension between us. “Celine. You look beautiful.” I love my name on his lips. His lips. My toes curl with the memory of tasting them. “Thank you, Alpha Lor.” “Just Lor.” There are a few sharp indrawn breaths and I just know it, that only a handful of people, if any are allowed to call him solely by his name. My toes tingle and a smile ghosts my lips again. “Lor.” His name sounds right on my lips. “I trust you are having a good time in our pack house?” The formality and politeness is ridiculous. Celine Pain wakes me up. It‘s in the middle of the night, and while most immortals are still out and about, I went to sleep two hours ago. And now this. I grip my sheets and groan in pain, writhing on the bed. It feels like someone took a dagger to me and is tearing me apart. The pain is everywhere and nowhere and my teeth hurt from gritting them. For the first time in all of my years, I feel a solid connection to my wolf, and I’m far from thrilled. She howls and claws at herself, sharing the pain and my body shudders as sweat racks my body. ‘Mate.’ She growls. I don’t have time to be stunned. It is the first time I ever heard her voice. How? Not everyone can hear their wolf’s voice. It takes a much more powerful and intelligent wolf to speak to their other half. The pain scalds me again and I bite my lip to keep from screaming. “Stop.” I grit out. “Stop, stop, stop it!” It hurts like a bitch and she cannot hear me either, lost in her pain. ‘Mate!’ She howls again. I almost bu

It bobbed to the surface and looked at me and I felt like it was saying hi. I just know it Aden, that there are others that share the waters with us.”“Yes. A hint of rebellion or trouble-making and these soldiers will sink their claws into you and march you towards the palace. And you bet that would be the last you will be seen. Thieves and liars are taken into those mountains, and they are never seen again. “Pretty lady, I have something that will interest you.” The owner of the next stall calls. It’s Melda, the fat she-wolf. She is somewhat of a mystery because werewolves have such a fast metabolism that we burn away any excess fat straight away. But not her. He mutters and shaking my head, I go to help. He stares down at me as I work one button to the next. "You are staring.""I can't help it, you're beautiful." He says and I smile. Someone donated her energy to bring back my wolf, but she neglected to mention that I would lose control of the soldiers when she is restored. I wouldn’t have it any other way anyway.”I sneer. “How pathetic. Of what use are you with your wolf then? You should sacrifice her to save hundreds of lives if need be but you are nothing but selfish as ever.”Her brows rise. “I’m not receiving a lecture on selflessness from you, am I? Now I have seen it all.”Behind us, Lor finally rips the king’s heart out with a roar. The war seems to stop for a second, everyone watching as he twists his head off his throat and sends it flying. Perhaps because they have been broken down by the economy but they fall like corn stalk against the enemy. I keep soldiers on their leader constantly, but he is not the only one to be worried about. No. I look back, knowing I will not find him at he balcony he once occupied with his father and the Whisperer. My eyes meet his father’s and I wonder if he knows. My distraction costs me. Strong arms wrap around me from behind and I’m plastered hard against a male chest. “Stand back.” He orders the creatures, keeping them in front of us and me as a shield between them. They angle and pace, the front liners reluctant to attack and skewer me. “What do you think you are doing?” I grit out, trying to break out of his grip but he’s too strong. “You’re coming back with me.” He says, shuffling back. I burst into laughter, a little hysterical. “Are you daft as fuck? You want to leap through the barrier to freedom? I thought the female stuck to my side because she had grown a soft side for me, as I have worked hard to lower her guard. I should have known better, she is an omega herself, an emotional fortress. Since the end of the three days that we raised Alaric, she has completely withdrawn, not even bothering to stand for any other person but the little brat. ”You said the three days were all we needed to ensure his survival.”“Yes. Your boy is stronger than a horse.” She says, raising her face to the sun. “Mama!” The culprit comes toddling out, holding chubby little hands out to me with a grin. I affect a light tone. “Prince Ismir-““I cannot allow you to live.” Chills race down my spine and I laugh awkwardly. “What are you talking about?” I say, my voice pleading. I always knew my inquisitiveness would land me in trouble one day. I cannot believe the day is finally here. “Why do you always have to go around snooping and putting yourself in situations you have no business being in?”“I’m sorry!” I say, taking a step forward. “I’m sorry okay? This will never happen again.”“You are right, it won’t.” He says and then he shifts. I scream and dive to the side as he leaps, coming up on my knee and watching him nearly crash into the crystals. He sidesteps them in a precarious move in the last second and spins around, furious. I’ve never seen him shift, and for good reason, I realise. That is no wolf, he looks like he belongs amongst the deformities on the front line. He is thre

What concern is it of mine if two idiots want to kill each other?”She’s right, she doesn’t give a fuck. She has said it enough times and yet she was the first person I thought of when I needed help.“I need your help.” I say and she finally puts the book down and pins with a stare piercing enough to make me squirm. “I see you got your tongue back.”“I need your help.” I say again, refusing to be redirected. “No.” She says, making me gape again. “No? There is something about him that has my hair standing on end. It is simply my most primitive instincts recognising a threat, a major one.“Nothing,” The Whisperer says. “But judging by his power and the fact that he entered the barrier unscathed, there are only a few people that come to mind. I believe that is her mate, the one commonly known as the demon wolf.”“What?” I say, startled out of the blue. Is that where the sense of familiarity comes from? LorFor the umpteenth time, I put a hand on the barrier and it goes straight through. My hand curls into a tight fist and I punch it hard. Nothing. It is just air. The demarcation that shows the island of Lyria, a slight shimmer in the air is quite obvious if you know what you are looking for. Otherwise, your eyes would probably skip right over it. We have besieged this perimeter for two days now and to my frustration, we have nothing to show for it. Not a soul has stepped out of it, and neither can we step inside either. If I didn’t have a strong gut feeling that she is behind that barrier, I would have believed that it is all a conjecture of my deranged mind.Maddilla comes to a stop beside me and peers into the barrier. There are more than a hundred and fifty packs here, each one of them as eager and enthusiastic to pierce the barrier of the island as the next. I didn’t have much convincing
