Raleigh’s POV

A smile curled against my lips. Oh, my goodness. He’d better be joking. My heart beamed with joy as I heard those words: “I’ll pay” It couldn’t be true.

I ran as swift as my leg could carry, to him. I hid the joy in me.

“Are you sure about this?” I asked, looking straight into his eyes. I needed to be sure. I couldn’t just let him take my burdens just because we were friends. He bent towards me, his foreheads almost colliding,

“Ask me again and I’ll change my mind.” He said in a low voice and we chuckled. Could I have asked for a better friend than this? A friend who would be there in your highs and lows. I took Mo’s hand in mine, squeezing it.

“Officer, no need to make matters worse. Raleigh is not going anywhere with you. I’ll make the payment to my friend.” Mason said, a hand in his pocket, and eyes targeted at the cop.

It seemed the cop wanted to be reluctant, but stopped. He knew who was making that offer. He knew it was no random guy.
